After FINALLY defeating that goddamned Snagglebeast in the first Ratchet and Clank.

ohai thar. I will send a giant Snagglebeast after you that emits burning shockwaves by simply walking, whose eyes radiate scorching hot lasers, whose palms can emit glowing balls of exploding fire, who has the odd deformity of being capable of creating a defensive forcefield, and whose breath will rob you of all your ammo.

Me: FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Still, it was quite a while ago and on hard. I'm sure I would be able to knock that one dead without breaking the sweat today.

Recently, it has to be the final boss in Bayonetta on hard,
Jubileus
That thing took forever to take down, but it was very satisfying. I am certain that Bayonetta has one of the best ending sequences of any game in recent memory, never has the credits so kept your interest, principally because they happen 3 times!

Playing Search and Destroy in MW:2, the other team had 6 players. I somehow managed to kill 5 of them, plant the bomb, and then shot the last enemy.

6) Beating Torin's Passage (long time ago, great game)
Holy crap, somebody else who player Torin's Passage. That game was a lot of fun, except for that damn lava level. God damn that level.

As for the OP, I'd probably say beating any adventure games without a guide.

First time I won the World Championship on F1 '97 on hardest difficulty, random weather, 100% distance etc etc. Worth every second to hear Murray Walker tell me what a Tarmac God I was.

Probably beating the first level on Demon Souls.

With hindsight it's actually pretty easy, but after all the hype it had about the difficulty i was sweating by the end of it.

Beyond Good & Evil's finish, because the whole game's difficulty curve goes suddendly wayy up at the finale: if anyone ever found out how in Hyllis's name you can beat the boss another way than smashing the controls like an epileptic boosted on amphetamines, please tell because that "hovering you waiting for you to stop moving" attack is deadly.

My most recent would be beating Elite Beat Agents' Jumpin Jack Flash (final song) on Hard Mode. Now there's just VERY Hard mode to go!

I also have some notable multiplayer moments, like in TF2 going straight into overtime, getting creamed, but then finally pushing the cart/taking the point whatever.

It's MOST satisfying when, in a capture map, the opposing defense just steamrolls your team straight back to spawn, setting up sentries and everything. Then, just ONE Spy or Scout gets past, and since no one on defense is back there, the dialog goes something like this.

"ALERT! The final control point is being-"
"WHAT?"
"Shit, someone get it! GET IT!"
"WHOEVER SPAWNS NEXT"
"How did they get past...?"
"YOU RETARDS"

Killing Old King Doran with a sword in Demon's Souls to get his armour for the first time on NG+

Yes, there's easier ways to do it, but being a bit OCD about overcoming challenges like a champ, I chose the hard way and when I finally succeeded I was extatic.

I remember one achievement that was worded in a way that made me lose the game...

Which by the way you all just lost too.

Legend of Dragoon, was a boss that killed two party members, I revived one, he gave me a MP boost, I was attacked to 1 HP and he dies. Used all of MP to do ultimate move to do 2 HP over life left by boss. Maybe most intense RPG battle I had been in.

Definitely beating General Raam on Insane on GoW. Took me many, many tries. I actually got lucky and got the 'stuck-behind-the-box' glitch where he won't move for a while, more than long enough for me to shove all 4 grenades under his trenchcoat in quick succession.
