Kingdom hearts 2 (As silly as this sounds)

The whole first game is about how the big dark things are bad and how Sora is the chosen of this keyblade, and cause of that he's awesome and the only one who can stop it...

KH2 rolls around: Lets see...who doesn't have a keyblade in this game? (not counting world-centric characters) um...uh...Donald and Goofy, thats about it. What really got me was how Riku somehow managed to get ANOTHER one even though Sora DESTROYED ONE HE HAD in the first game.

Lol its so silly, but if you're going to go through the trouble of writing a plot, at least make it click with what was being said in the first game, there were a bunch of other things there too...those holes organization XIII used? those are actually giant plot holes.
I get the impression that somewhere halfway through KH: CoM's development they decided to steer away from the "chosen one" cliche and veer towards the "jedi knights" cliche.

I still like the plot either way, and depending on how the 3ds game goes, see potential in the "jedi knights" order of keybearers thing.
Alright, i'm willing to accept that, but...they went through all the setup for the chosen one thing and then noone acts suprised when someone else shows up with a keyblade, their all like "oh hai, help with nobodies plox?" I'd really prefer continuity over a sudden story change with no reasoning behind it...

I mean, even if it was a total BS thing i'd probably take that better then simply changing it and hoping the players don't notice.

In the ending of the first game,
Mickey has his own keyblade, so the existance of multiple blades is set up in the first game. Also, Riku's keyblade in KH2 is a true keyblade, unlike the one he wielded in the first game.

I also just remembered KH1 constantly eluded to past keybearers "causing either wonder or ruin" across the various worlds, but then that plot point was kind of dropped in the shitter until the psp game.

If you've followed the KH plot so far, I think they're finally bringing that plot point full circle in KH3 (whenever it comes out).

Dead Space...

So it was my understanding that only the bat-like Necromorphs could convert dead bodies into a Necromorph. When Hammond puts that one Necromorph into the escape pod, he said he kicked one of them in there when it attacked him. Looking in the pod there is only one of the Slasher necromorphs in there.

So... When that pod is taken aboard that goverment ship... A slasher necromorph was released on board...

How did that infect the entire ship?

Now you can say "Oh, well it didn't, it just killed everyone on the ship and the infectors on the Ishimura infected them when it crashed into them."

Except I refuse to believe that 1 necromorph killed an entire ship of armed military personel. Heck, I refuse to believe 1 necromorph could kill 1 whole room of people by itself, let alone a whole ship.

This didn't really bother me when I played it through the first time as I was enjoying myself too much to notice, I actually only thought about it recently while watching a friend of mine play through that part. Now it will bug me forever.. Lol

How do game characters live without eating?
Why do game characters never have to go to the bathroom?
Actually you could go to the bathroom in Harvest Moon, A Wonderful Life.
At least The Normandy in Mass Effect 2 has a bathroom, unlike the Enterprise. Although in the Normandy the showerheads are uncomfortably close togther.... :S

heh... my friends were cooping the mario game and on the last level, the one playing mario died but the one playing luigi beat the game! and yet... mario got the girl and flew off in a balloon... wth? they just abandoned luigi? the hero? not sure if that's a plot hole, but it's certainly something weird. (ps, hope that's not a spoiler... cause um... it's basically the ending of every mario game)
Don't feel too bad for Luigi. He's dating royalty too, and she hasn't been kidnapped in YEARS!
what?!! not kidnapped in years? what's wrong with her then? XD

At the end of assassins creed 2, why did all the templars storm the assassin hideout with metal batons instead of guns???

Okay this got me to.

Which leads one to correlate:

How the hell are they going to make a game centered around Desmond without running into the issue of everyone shooting at you with high-caliber rifles or futuristic laser-guns?

there are 2 civil wars you could be talking about in DA, the civil war between ferelden and the nation to the north (which was over well before the start of the game) or, the more likely one you are talking about, the small civil war between ruling factions for the empty throne. in DA the guy who betrayed the king at the beginning dismisses the fact that a blight is occurring and says it is just some dark spawns that will be easily cleaned up so he worries about securing his throne more than the coming blight

the elves did not know their leader was responsible for the curse, they had too many wounded to move even if they wanted to, and they were not going to leave any of their people behind. the elves thought they could defeat the werewolves if they could kill the spirit of the forest and so they held on to that hope. the leader never said he caused the curse because he felt responsible and he wanted the werewolves to suffer

in the DA universe the darkspawn are ALWAYS in the deep roads and so the only hint that a blight is happening for the dwarves is when there are fewer darkspawn in the deep raods (because they are now mostly on the surface). and so things are as usual for the dwarves facing darkspawn so they didnt see any threat (since they dont go to the surface) so they argued about who would rule their kingdom
A war between nations is not a civil war, so yes, I did refer to the squabble over the throne business. I don't know if you've noticed this before, but reports of destruction spread quite easily. There is no way that all of Ferelden could have been ignorant of the incoming Blight, given numerous reports of destruction.

As for the elves, yes, they were in bad shape. That still doesn't explain why the idiot who started the curse led them back into the forest in the first place, though that might have just been out of his own vanity. Also, why don't the werewolves just wipe the elves out? Yes, the forest spirit has something against that, but there is literally no opposition to the beasts!

Uhm, then how the hell did that dragon get down there? Or for that matter, how could the dwarfs not have known about the broodmother (or the delightful porn of it)? And don't forget, you actually see a bloody army of darkspawn marching down there. Man, those dwarfs must be really good at fightin' them darkspawn considering how much attention they pay to them.

Ooh wait, I've got another one: where the hell did the mage faction that summoned the sloth demon come from? I played as a mage, and I did not hear of any such organization when I started in the tower. Or did they just form after my amazing betrayal of my supposed best friend? I'm sure they were all awestruck by his masterful use of the emo I'm-cutting-myself-and-sprinkle-things-with-blood magic. But whatever, I don't exactly expect coherence from Bioware games, or fantasy stories in particular. I just enjoy poking holes into them while playing the game, basically the same approach I take with SyFy original movies.
Loghain doesn't think it's really a Blight, and in fact is in the majority at least when the game begins. The Civil War starts because not all the nobles support his bid for the throne, and a few think he got the King killed on purpose. The game takes place over roughly a year so by the time you face Loghain enough of his support has eroded that you can oust him through the Landsmeet. The first time he acknowledges the Blight is during the Landsmeet, if you use the right dialogue path, when one of the nobles points out that his entire fiefdom has been destroyed by the Darkspawn.

Zathrian led the Elves to the forest because they wouldn't run afoul of any humans there, plus there were old Elven ruins that might have held significant value to the Elves. When the werewolves attacked they were left with too many wounded to move, and Zathrian decided that he wanted Witherfang dead once and for all. No one knows he's responsible for the curse. The werewolves don't wipe out the Elves because the Lady told them not to. It's that simple.

The Archdemon is not a dragon. It is a Tivinter Old God that took the visage of a dragon. The legends in the game state that the Old Gods were banished underground by the Maker as punishment, and tried to gain revenge by teaching the Tivinters how to enter heaven. The Maker punished them by making them Darkspawn, and the Darkspawn are drawn to the "call" of the Old Gods. A Blight only begins when an Old Gods is dug up and corrupted by the Darkspawn. The Dwarves know all about the Darkspawn, including their broodmothers. They just can't get to them. The one you come across is pretty deep behind enemy lines, and was tailor made by Branka. The army you see is all the Darkspawn being assembled by the Archdemon to march to the surface. Under non-Blight conditions the Dwarves never face an organized assault by the Darkspawn. They face shambolic, unorganized assaults by bands of Darkspawn that have no leadership. The Blight actually reduces the number of Darkspawn underground, so they see it as a reprieve.

The blood mages are implied to have been an underground faction in the Circle for a long time. Uldred was teaching students covertly, and other mages that wanted to learn blood magic sought ways to do it on their own. The only reason they act as they did when you arrive is because Loghain promised to side with them if they supported his coup.

I just started playing POP sands of time (Older one..) and you get to a point very early on where a guy releases the sands of time, and it got me thinking, why doesn't the prince just use the dagger to reverse time until before that? It was only a minute ago...
Because he didn't know what the dagger did. And by the time he did know he didn't have enough sand to do the rewind.

Pretty much this.
And the motive for Shepard? There aren't enough patriots!?!?!?! WTF is that.
I enjoyed the campaign though. Despite its ridiculous story.

You mean like this?

OT: In COD 4: MW (Charlie Don't Surf), I always wondered why you had to go through the city filled with insurgents when you could have just jumped the fence and over to the t.v. station.

There's a lot for Mario. But then again, for Mario to have plot holes, Mario needs a plot.

So instead, I'll just say this:
If Kessler caused Cole to get his powers in InFamous... how did Kessler get his powers? Time travel tends to leave tons of plotholes.
They say in the game that Cole develops his powers naturally, all he does by going back in time is to speed up the process
Did they? I always though the implication is that he speed up the development of the Ray Sphere so potentially the Ray Sphere gave him his powers, just later. Either way Cole was a conduit so he was going to have powers at some point.

That said a bigger plot whole is how do you use electricity to time travel? Forget restraining bad guys with electric manacles or a shock to the chest curing bullet wounds or even being supercharged letting you absorb bullets and survive high falls, HOW THE FUCK DO YOU TIME TRAVEL FROM ELECTRICITY??? what. the. hell.

This is either a major plothole or drives home the point that wheatley is incredibly stupid.

If the enrichment center goes miles underground, why could Chell shoot the moon through an open hole in the GLaDOS chamber?... Then ride an elevator from the same room several yards upwards to emerge at ground level.

Or alternatively... Wheatley just moved the GLaDOS chamber to the top of Aperture because... well he's a moron. The fact that the ending is in broad daylight suggests Chell was out cold for hours, so GLaDOS could have moved it back.

Also whatever happened between lots of events in Soul Nomad's Demon Path are never explained at all. But perhaps its for the better.
