Not to mention: WHY THE HELL does every vampire/demon/bad thing come to Sunnydale?
Because the Hellmouth is in Sunnydale.
Fine. But why stay there? Why not wander off and actually do something effectual?

Plus, these are supposed to be demons. Surely they have the ability to plan things out better than "Ok, so I jump out in this town and do random stuff til I get sent back to hell".
the same can be asked of any batman or spiderman villan. neither seem to leave their respective home town
Batman Villains are generally mobsters or thieves. They don't want to take over the world. They just want to either steal shit and get rich or kill Bats.

Spiderman lives in New York, a city with a rather large population in a country that would definitely make it known that they had been attacked. Why do you think Ozimandias Exploded his giant squid thing in New York in the Watchmen comic?
well that's fine and good if you're tying to make a splash (pun intended) but if I fell in radioactive waste and could suddenly, I dunno.... morph my limbs battletoad style, and had a great idea for a death ray I wouldn't start my hostile takeover in a place where guys in suits have a spotless record for kicking ass. maybe california, then NY

How about the Empire Strikes Back, Han and the Crew are captured in Bespin at around the same time that Luke leaves Yoda on Dagoba, after being trained in some new abilities and going into that cave, to rescue them. The hole is that the Han and the rest were only being chased for a matter of hours or maybe days before getting to Bespin which means that Luke did al of the training in a very short amount of time.

Isn't becoming a Jedi supposed to be hard? And even harder with an older mind. Yes Luke was Anakin's son but it still took at Anakin least ten years of training to become Vader.

Pokemon the first movie.

If this movie is supposed to be the first time we get to see pokemon 150 and 151, why in the world do we see pokemon 232 at the beginning?

Yes, I'm talking about Donphan. He's like the sixth pokemon seen in the movie. (Mew, Mewtwo, Pikachu, Togepi, Bulbasaur then Donphan). Togepi was in the cartoon, so it wasn't that odd, but Donphan should not have existed. None of the other Johto pokemon were in the movie (well, Marill and Snubbull were in Pikachu's Vacation).

seeing that in theaters was like WTF? I have all 150, but who in the world are they?
And they showed Ho-oh in the Pilot episode.
But then they explained it by having the pokedex say that there are some pokemon that have yet to be discovered.

With Donphan, Marill and Snubbull they give no explanation. These are not pokemon that have yet to be discovered because no one is surprised at seeing a Donphan. For them it was just another pokemon. Pikachu from the Kanto region would have never seen a Marill or a Snubbull before. however, there is no shock at seeing those two.
With Ho-oh, there was a sense of confusion and wonder when Ash sees it.

In the theaters, we were just told to accept that these are pokemon. The worst part about it is that Donphan wasn't even named [music was playing during the battle so we didn't even get a nickname]. We just see this strange new creature pop out of a pokeball, and we know nothing about it. At the time, we had no concept of an attack called 'Rollout' we just watch as it unleashes a crazy looking 'tackle' attack. Then we never hear about this crazy looking exotic pokemon again in the movie...

But the Trade Federation was run by Darth Sidiou,s he used them to push the Republic into an empire and cast out the Jedi. It's really quite a good plan that must have taken him some time to think up, but I digress...

It may have been started by the Trade Federation, but it was finished by the Empire. Therefore that excuse doesn't fly.

It's by no means big, but I wish to point out a plot hole in the Star Wars Continuity (the only one, as far as I can tell):

So in The Force Unleased, Starkiller visited a fully operational Death Star during the emperor's inagural visit BEFORE the creation of the rebel alliance; above an unknown planet. Fair enough.

However, in the game Star Wars: Lethal alliance, the Twi'lek bounty hunter Ryanna Sarin visited a fully operational Death Star above an unnamed planet at the behest of Kyle Katarn, who was a member of the rebel alliance; however, he didn't join until five years AFTER the alliance's creation.

Thus, Paradox.

Wait....that can easily be solved with simple solution....*thinks*.....................*thinks*.................................................................................................................*brain Explodes*
Well, you see... ummm...

The Galactic Empire was not the first ones to create a Death Star. They got the idea from the Trade Federation... Yeah, in Episode 3, I remember they were looking at a hologram of the Death Star...

So The Trade Federation probably already had an operational Death Star, which the Emperor had seenm before the creation of the Rebel Alliance. The Emperor having seen the Trade Federation's Death Star, decided to make an even bigger and more powerful Death Star.

Therefore, the Death Stars seen in Force Unleashed and Lethal Alliance were the Trade Federation Death Star. Not the Galactic Empire Death Star.

Yea, I'm happy with that answer...
*brain un-explodes* See i knew i'd figure it out. >.>

I understand where you're coming from, but that isn't much of a plot hole. It's more like an unexplained preview, since the G/S/C games came out fairly soon afterward, right? Plus the Ho-Oh example. Wonder how many people caught all 150 during R/B/Y generation and wondered where Ho-Oh was.

I like how in Super Mario Bros. they spend the entire movie setting up the premise that all the cars in the Koopa world run on those electric nets like bumper cars, and for added effect, always park by slamming into other cars because they have no brakes. And then they unleash a wind-up toy that scares the crap out of everyone, including a hapless cab driver who... slams... on his... brakes?

Another one that drove me nuts, though it's not so much a plothole as bad storytelling, is that The Bone Collector spends the entire movie teaching Angelina Jolie how to be Bones, and constantly wondering who could possibly be doing all these horrific murders, tracking down these old books and everything, and in the end, the killer is just some guy who was on screen for two minutes at the beginning of the movie whose motive and connections to Denzel are only revealed after he stabs Queen Latifah. I know people like a twist but mysteries are supposed to at least provide a clue or two to develop into the big reveal at the end, not just spend two hours saying "I wonder who did it" and have a random extra stand up at the end and say, oh, I did it, kthxbai

The Trade Federation does pre-date Palpatine. It is possible that some member of the Federation has something very similar to a Death Star.

Palpatine didn't create anything. He just used existing tools to do his work.

He saw an opportunity for power in the Senate he took it.
He saw the ability to make a clone army, he took it.
He saw the weakness in Anakin, and he took advantage of it.

Sure, he planned everything, but none of his plans included creating something new. He just used loop holes to get what he wanted (he is a politician after all).

There is no reason to not believe that he saw a giant spherical space station with a giant lazer cannon and take the idea.

meh, that's how so many people are allowed to make Star Wars books. Have you read any of them? All of them are just making stuff up.

but if my post ever gets the LucasArts seal of Approval, then it becomes canon. XP

In Starship Troopers, when the grunts are in training their guns shoot awesome kick-butt lazers, but when the big bug battles happen later on in the movie, the same guns only shoot bullets. No-one ever turns their kick-ass lazers on, what's up with that?
i think those were for training, you know sensors and all that dark wizardry.

Well, it's not a Movie but:

It was missing so much that it was impossible to understand. It wasn't even a big plothole, it was a collective blowout of tiny plotholes that made the story indecipherable. Well...the ending at least. Things were easy to understand when they were just out to stop the production of mineral powder, but nope, that my friends was just a plot device.

In transformers the all-spark could create life from any form of technology. No matter what it hit, the sentient being it created was evil. So we can assume the natural order of the all-spark is evil. So megatron is not the abomination here, Optimus Prime and the autobots are the freaks
