The thing everyone seems to forget is that when you put a sex scene in a game, some poor bastard has to spend the next week or so animating it. I can think of few things that would make me feel more awkward.
Heh... What terrible scenes.Onyx Oblivion said:Getting better each time?
HAVE YOU SEEN DA2'S SCENES?
Agree with pretty much everything here. Tali's scene was spot on perfect. So adorable, and real.GrizzlerBorno said:While the sex scenes in ME1 were intimate and felt more mature than.....well......dry humping as was the case in Miranda's scene in ME2, Tali's scene from the same game was done perfectly, I thought. It wasn't sexualiased at all, but still felt WAY more romantic and intimate. I've heard that Jack's scene is pretty good too, but I haven't seen it so I can't say.Fappy said:I don't know about getting better every time. From where I stand ME1 had the best scenes in both taste and character interaction.
Yeah, I agree. I just laughed when that scene came about. And any sense of maturity that it was trying to grasp immediately dissolved when I got the trophy alert.Onyx Oblivion said:Getting better each time?

Anyway, I highly doubt we need to worry about sex scenes in Bioshock Infinite. Despite the male/female protagonist team.
Even without the trophy alert, it still all dissolved very quickly, no?Jbird said:Yeah, I agree. I just laughed when that scene came about. And any sense of maturity that it was trying to grasp immediately dissolved when I got the trophy alert.Onyx Oblivion said:Getting better each time?

The romances for FemShep are similar. Garrus' and Thane's love scenes are very well constructed and nuanced, while Jacob's just falls flat (then again, he's just a boring character).GrizzlerBorno said:While the sex scenes in ME1 were intimate and felt more mature than.....well......dry humping as was the case in Miranda's scene in ME2, Tali's scene from the same game was done perfectly, I thought. I disagree; I don't think BioWare is "scared," I think they realize that trying to do a sex scene in-engine (which they must do, because of the character creation mechanic) would look ridiculous--which is exactly what Levine is pointing out here. The tech is really the limiting factor at this point, if you ignore the "moral guardians."Selvec said:Yea. I agree that sex scenes in games are pretty bad. But I disagree that Biowares are getting better. Maybe the intro, but thats all you see. I mean, for example, Isabella scenes was pretty firey and passionate, even if nothing was shown. It wasn't some pre-generated doll scene. It was how two people would likely act in such a situation. Issue is, Biowares to scared to show anything beyond the intro.
The rule of thumb being that, while alien hotness is available, don't go "Human"? Makes sense.Undead Dragon King said:The romances for FemShep are similar. America, and to a lesser degree Western society in general, has always had a very hypocritical attitude towards sex and violence in media.Realitycrash said:Graphic violence = Okey.
Sex = AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHSOMEONEPLEASETHINKOFTHECHILDREN!
My thoughts exactly. I love swearing too, and employ it frequently, but there's a time at a place. I can just imagine how much Levine's wife (if he's married) would have appreciated it if, in front of all their friends and relatives, when asked the penultimate question he said something along the lines of "I sure as fuck do!". Obviously a ridiculous example, but hopefully he has enough sense to know when and where it's appropriate to drop an F-bomb or two and not sound like an immature fool.canadamus_prime said:And presumably that would also come with the maturity to know when it's appropriate to drop an "F-bomb" and when it isn't.Logan Westbrook said:He didn't intend to change the way he spoke however, saying, "If I'm going to drop an F-bomb, I'm going to drop an F-bomb. I'm a big boy and I get to do that. It's one of the privileges of being an adult."
I wish they gave out trophies for sex in real life! I'd have a full bookshelf! hahaOnyx Oblivion said:Even without the trophy alert, it still all dissolved very quickly, no?Jbird said:Yeah, I agree. lol Bioware sex
He lost it when he made Bioshock in my opinion. How could you replicate System Shock 2 so badly, the game was ridiculously mediocre in comparison. I advise any Bioshock fan to play SS2, you won't regret it.Rex Fallout said:I used to be one of the biggest fans of Ken Levine, way back when Bioshock was undoubtedly my favorite game, (which was pretty early on into my gamin career) then he sold out to make Bioshock Infinite, (a piece of - ok fine i'm not going to go into that) But now with actions like this he is starting to slowly- but surely win me back over.
There's one in the DLC that's not bad either. It's definitely not "good" in the eyes of kids who just want to see some skin, but seeing Shepard and one of the characters from the first game get back together was one of the moments that makes ME2 special.Undead Dragon King said:The romances for FemShep are similar.
