Sander Cohen immediately comes to mind. Particularly the part where he starts playing that dance song while he sends enemies at you.

If I ever get any good at producing music, I'll make a Bioshock Musical.

Alright, as promised, I came up w/ one (keep in mind, it's not fully done.)

Can't Touch Her (sung to Can't Touch This)

Can't Touch Her
do-do-do-do--doo-do
Can't Touch Her
do-do-do-do--doo-do
Can't Touch Her
do-do-do-do--doo-do
Can't Touch Her
do-do-do-do--doo-do
Can't Touch Her
do-do-do-do--doo-do

My, my, my why they gotta hit so hard?
Makes me wanna hit them hard
Ryan has grafted me
Into a diving suit right on skin
Gotta drill 'em in the face
Drill 'em to the ground
For messing with my girl
And you shoulda known,
Can't touch her

I told you now splicer (can't touch her)
Yeah, livin' under water now (can't touch her)
Look at me man, (can't touch her)
I gotta big ass drill for a hand! (can't touch her)

Bust 'em down! oh-aaaaaaahhhhhhh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh--oooooohhhhhh-aaaaaahhhhhh Stop! Daddy time!
Now everywhere you see me
From Fort Frolic to the Hights
it's go Daddy, go Daddy, go Daddy, damn Big Daddy!
And the rest of 'em know

Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Holy shit dude... You just won the thread, can I have your babies? This is brilliant. I can already see a Big Daddy doing this...in Hammer pants....ow my GOD, that's just fantastic!

*ahem*

A Bioshock musical...it HAS to be tongue-in-cheek, this can't be done purely serious, it would be hilarious though.
One of my brothers suggested the same thing about the pants once he saw this.

And are you a girl? If so, we're gonna have a few problems w/ the kid producing part. 8|
Fantastic. VERY creative use of lyrics, we'll HAVE to put this in at one point or another. Maybe the credits with a big daddy going all "daddy time" to this.

If you'd like a singer, you've got one.

I'm male. That's preeeetty much the only discerning factor to my voice.

The Phantom of the Opera is amazing, among my top 3 theatre experiences, up there with Turandot and Nabucco.
Holy shit, you're not banned no more!
*claps*

Anyway, Root already beat you to challenging me.

Thirdly...uhm...I'm a girl,
No you're not. Girls don't exist here, remember? It's a fact.
I can sing pretty well but only if no one's looking >.>...
Oh come on. Who isn't going to show up to Bioshock: The Musical!
You'll have to get over your stage fright, missy.
Indeed, after running a virus check (which came out worryingly empty) and changing my password to something long and alphanumerical, I am unbanned and my "good boy" count is back where it was, so I'll still get my Morpheus badge when I hit 1000.

No, that would be terrible. I'm not surprised you got this idea after seeing Les Miserables, as that is also terrible.

Reminds me of why I could barely get into Romeo and Juliet. The only reasonably sane character was Mercutio, and they killed him off.
Seriously.

On a side note, musicals are horrid.
That is all.

I've never seen it so I can't judge it.
I suggest you take a look at the movie. If you like the music in it, then by all means go see the actual play. It's a million times better.

EDIT: Ah! Double post! Sorry.

Glad to help. Am trying to come up w/ more though. Think I might to one to a Beatles song or maybe that Thriller song.

Wait, I don't really know that song and it sucks. Never mind. =P

(you have suggestions though, feel free to post 'em. Just try to stick to the better known songs though, would you kindly?)

How you are gonna make a Big Daddy is beyond me
Someone with a deep voice could be recorded singing, then it just has to be pitched down or slowed to an appropriate "Daddy" sound.

Alalge; I like your sound test video (S'pecially the Steinman bit, spooky). Hopefully changing enough lyrics and adding enough disclaimers will avert any leagl reprocussions...

I could be a sister ^^.

OMG side-note! The song "God That's Good" from Sweeney Todd could be a good track illustrating the fall of rapture, people becoming Splicers after getting addicted to plasmids...Sorry, had to throw that in there.

You thinking of the same Musical I am? Because it doesn't appear we are on the same page here. I respect your opinion, but would you care to expand on that a little?
It's a game. A game in which the main character doesn't talk. Most of the talking is done through a radio. Yeah that sounds like grade A musical material.

Besides the splicers look like drugged up psychopaths, not the people who suddenly preform an organized musical number. Also, where would the big daddies fit in?

So yeah it wouldn't work.
This sounds like the perfect Comedy Musical!

musicals do NOT suck D:

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see the splicers cast in Guys and Dolls as written by Sander Cohen. This reminds me of people pointing to the bible saying "You can't make a musical out of that!" before Andrew Lloyd Weber blows your mind with Jesus Christ Superstar.

There's so much fertile material for a musical in BioShock that I am instantly drawn to the idea. If you're serious about this idea, count me in.
Oh I am quite serious. Yes.
Have some studio experience, used to be a session/live drummer but injured so cant really play how i used to, i sing and play acoustic in bars these days, dont have amazing recording software but if you need stuff, im in

Notice the word: "MOST" MOst meaning in my world some of the more recent ones. HighShool Musical, Most of the Disney adaptations, ect. I hgihly respect gems like Sweeney Todd or Into the Woods.

To be honest, I'm surprised we have so many singers on this sight. Talent hides behind gaming.. But yes, of course you can join in. We need as many singers as we can get. (Sorry for the double post again.) But for all those who want to be involved, PM me what it is you want to help with, and send a sample of whatever that is. There I will give you my email address for further contact. I don't give it out willy nilly because my last email address was overflooded with spam, so I moved.
