I actually see this working.. Just imagine Jack in the middle of a room defending himself against splicers coming at him in different directions to a beat..
Do you remember that bit in Fort Frolic?
Exactly what i was thinking. just forgot what it was called
It was from the Nutcracker actually, I think it was the Dance of the Plumb Faries or whatever they are called.

I could be involved! I can sing somewhat well. Also, for a song about Cohen, you should use the song Cohen's Masterpiece from the soundtrack as the background and get someone to sing over it.

I'm not bad with singing, and I love the character Sander Cohen. If, by any chance, this happens to be made into reality, I'd love to be cast as Sander!

EDIT: Hold up. Was that you on your Youtube? Should you be swearing at your early age? Anyway, that is besides the point. My point is, I didn't see any animations of yours on your youtube page. All I saw was Youtube Poop (Which I detest by the way, as it's too easy to do and posting it doesn't show creativity in any way, shape or form)
I haven't done a full length animation yet, but I do quite a lot of drawing in a range of styles. I haven't done anything big really because of homework, but considering that the summer holiday is coming, I will be free. Also, no I shouldn't be swearing, but nobody should really. I was in an angry mood when I posted that post, so I apologise for the profanity. The youtube poop was just requests really, but it's fun to make it when you have an hour or so on your hands. Anyways, I will try to get some example work to show you all and hopefully, everything goes well.

This just spring into my head today as I was watching Les Miserables. And I just had to post it somewhere to get it out of my head. A Bioshock Musical! Of course! Why hasn't anyone thought of this yet? Musicals are a great way to tell a story, and Bioshock was the first thing to pop into my head.

So the reason I am posting this is, that I'm wondering if anyone would want to help me with this. I'm thinking about writing some songs and animating them for a short series on Youtube or Newgrounds. What do you say?

P.S. Can anyone here sing?

EDIT: I am quite aware that most musicals suck. But if done right, they are great ways of storytelling. Besides, the idea itself is more than a little tongue-n-cheek.
Can sing, don't like Bioshock.

musicals do NOT suck D:
they rock!
but eya, a bioshock musical might suck :/
Notice the word: "MOST" MOst meaning in my world some of the more recent ones. HighShool Musical, Most of the Disney adaptations, ect. I hgihly respect gems like Sweeney Todd or Into the Woods.
well i wouldn't really count HSM as an actual musical
just a bunch of over hyped teens expressing their confusing unusual emotions to the beat of some crap tunes, and featuring some terrible dance routines that look like they were pulled out of the latest bollywood film :p

Don't worry about it. (the not so confident singing voice) It's good to get your voice in a serious singing voice, whether it actually be good or not. (Personally, I'm quite the horrible singer myself, but once you start to show the serious side of your singing, it's easier to improve upon it once people can actually hear it.) As for your song dilemma, I would suggest something from Sweeney Todd or Into the Woods, as those are the main inspirations for the musical. But if you don't want to be doing opera so soon, there are a few easy-to-sing-yet-good songs at www.filmcow.com (Go to Downloads for the songs)

FUND IT!

This would be amazing if done well. I think though for it to truly work it would need completely original music much along the themes of the soundtrack of the game. Maybe even an original plot, one perhaps centred around Rapture's downfall, with the arrival of Jack occuring near the end. Or one centred around the events occuring in Fort frolic and the backstory to that.

Ok, the newest one that I've been writing is almost done, so within a few hours or two days at the most or so, it should be here.

Maybe you are confused

musicals = suck (unless funny, which = dr. horrible or singing in the rain)
You're right, I must have been confused.
I didn't think you were kidding at first.

I don't know if you count Opera's in there as "Musicals", but they certainly don't suck.
Le Damnation de Faust was incredibly well done.

Anyways, I don't know if Bioshock: The Musical would really capture the atmosphere of Bioshock.
I don't know.
For most of the games' fans, it probably wouldn't go over well.

Good Musicals
Spamalot
Spamalot sucks!
It represents all the endles repetition monte python has become.

A Bioshock musical must feature a lot of that wierd modern classic music.

Has anyone figured out the lyrics to 'Rise Rapture Rise'?

'K, got it (kind of long, so I'm sticking it in a spoiler box)

I Love Rapture (as sung to I Love College by Asher Roth)

If you have a lead pipe
Would you kindly wave it about in the air?
(chorus)
That ADAM fight went wrong last night
I wish I won that
I jumped my ass off
and had this one woman completely ripped out
Drunk my Fine Gin and smoked that pipe
but much ADAM is all I need
Pass out at Control awaken at the ?Hights
Hunt down a Sis and do it again

(verse one)
I wanna stay in Rapture for the rest of time
drink down Old Tom and moonbeam absinthe
on every evening and every night
where I can get a cream filled cake at 200 a pop
so buy some EVE hypo
let?s get spliced up
Suchong?s on the table
McClintock?s up next
Is it someone new?
Jesus loves me, this I know
Don?t ever get caught up with big bounce
better hope he?d not see
else you be wasted

a season for all things
hunted about for a fix and all I can think is

(chorus)

(bridge part)
Man I love Rapture
I love splicing
I love Rosebud
I love Rapture

(verse two)
I couldn?t tell you the whole point of it all
But I can warn you about a thing or two
that you don?t wanna learn so hard
Like don?t trust Irish bald men
and don?t forget to equip Boozehound
and don?t ignore the plaster man
when it comes to Steinman, shoot him down
then I?ll go hunt Ryan down
hold the wrench hard
nothing wrong with beating them hard
even if they just found her that way

Kindly go waste that old waste
Went about Fort Frolic and all I can think is

(chorus)

(bridge part)

Now would everybody, would they kindly
wave their plasmids in the air
and shoot up some bees in the air
and say it with me

SPLICE!x8
SANDER!x4
No gods or kingsx4
INCENRATE x4

Man
that ADAM fight
I love Rapture
I really do
That ADAM fight
hey man, I gotta find me a Little Sis

Do I really have to leave this place
or can I just stick around for the rest of time?

Got two new ones right here, clicky to view.
The Glorious Epic of Andrew Ryan (as sung to The Continuing Story of Bungalow Bill by The Beatles)

(chorus)
Hey, Andrey Ryan
Who did you kill, Andrew Ryan?
Hey, Andrey Ryan
Who did you kill, Andrew Ryan?

He went out stalking and killing with his tommy gun
He made an accident and killed his son's mom
He's the true visionary in his people's eyes
All the people sing

(chorus)

Deep in the ocean where the city lies
Jack came down and Ryan was surprised
So Ryan gave Jack a putter and beat his head inside
All the people sing

(chorus)

The people asked if this was not his way
"Not when they're fighting me" said his iron fist
It may be best if Fountain ruled instead of him
All the people sing

(chorus)

Oh Christ!

(chorus)x3
City Under Sea as sung to Yellow Submarine by The Beatles

In the land of bounding rules
Was a man who set us free
And we broke from the chain
In the city under sea

So we dove in the mid-Atlan
Where we found the gleaming city
So we lived away from rules
In our city under sea

(chorus)
We all live in a city under sea
city under sea, city under sea
We all live in a city under sea
city under sea, city under sea

So we came in many hordes
many more plan to come
and the splicers begin to sing

(chorus)

[Jesus Christ, it's Andrew Ryan!
Quick, get to the bathysphere!
Splicer! Zap 'em, then wack 'em
Remember, the one-two punch
The one-two punch!]

As we live in the sea (in the sea)
No one here (no one here) sees the clouds (sees the clouds)
Sky of none (sky of none) and sea of dreams (sea of dreams)
in our city (in our city) under sea (under sea!)

(chorus)x2 fade in end
