Personally I think it could work even if done seriously, but that'd require a LOT more time and effort to pull it off. Someone here mentioned Repo: The Genetic Opera, and I was kind of thinking of that for this. Just showing that creepy Splicer aspect of what the citizens of Rapture have been reduced to, similar to the graverobber from Repo. Then add the actual plotline of Bioshock into the mix, and it could actually turn out really well. However, like I said, it's hard to take animation seriously, so that'd require a lot of effort put into live-action acting and sets.
I know what you mean. Problem is, since this is more of a forum effort, it is very unlikely we could cooperate with the actors very well as a forum, and since there is a love/hate thing going on, The tongue-in-cheek one will probably be the foothold for the project until we actually know what we are doing. With the comedy one, we could still tell the story pretty well, and we have more room for mistakes and amateurish production since it's technically "supposed" to be like that. See the poster I made, and that pretty much describes the feeling I'm going for.
so does that mean its definitely a comedy a.k.a "tongue-in-cheek"? XD

Here's how it would go. I entered in a submarine i was oh so scared, I saw the splicers and the fighters and i was so afraid, until i heard a freandly voice he said his name was atlas, till he shoved his shoe up my ass and then i destroyed rapture. :) What do you think?

im actually quite a large fan of musicals, and i love bioshock badly, if it was human.....well you get the drill. (no pun intended)

I think a bioshock musical would be utterly fantastic, and i would be glad to help out. im a good singer, according to some of the shows i have performed in which one of my favorites, although may seem embarrasing, is a school production of "high school musical" where i played one of the lead roles of chad.the performance was rated quite highly in newspapers somehow. I have also performed in a production of Sondhiems "into the woods" as cinderellas prince charming. ive also been used in voice acting often so i know how to work a mic pretty well.

if you would like to hear, then send me some music and i shall record it on video and send it to you.

much obliged

Seriously.

On a side note, musicals are horrid.
That is all.
You mean "since Disney ruined them with it's *shudder* High School Musical and all of it's gayness is a disgrace to the Musical genre.
Not really, no.
I pretty much meant "musicals are horrid."
Hey we agree on something.

Musicals are so annoying. Usually they appear on TV shows as a special episode, a sign that the shows creator is running out of creativity. Seriously, people who act on TV don't tend to be singers. So the second you force them to sing, the results are usually less than pleasant.

Oh jolly good. I can't say I'm a fan of any kind of the dreaded "Highschool Musical" crap Disney keeps shoving in people's faces, but it is good to know we have quite a few singers already involved. Right now I'm doing a short video test run on music and Bioshock, (putting songs from various musicals to scenes from bioshock to see what works and what doesn't before CREATING the music) But a sound clip of you singing to a musical (possibly Les Miserables) will be just fine. Glad to see we got some musical talent here. (On a website about gaming, who knew? Maybe Ken Levine can tap dance)

Can't Touch Her
do-do-do-do--doo-do
Can't Touch Her

My, my, my why they gotta hit so hard?
Makes me wanna hit them hard

Into a diving suit right on skin
Gotta drill 'em in the face
Drill 'em to the ground
For messing with my girl
And you shoulda known,
Can't touch her

I told you now splicer (can't touch her)
Yeah, livin' under water now (can't touch her)

I gotta big ass drill for a hand! (can't touch her)

Bust 'em down! oh-aaaaaaahhhhhhh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh--oooooohhhhhh-aaaaaahhhhhh Stop! Daddy time!
Now everywhere you see me
From Fort Frolic to the Hights
it's go Daddy, go Daddy, go Daddy, damn Big Daddy!
And the rest of 'em know

Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her
Can't touch her

I'm a good singer and I animate in flash. I also have both youtube and newgrounds accounts. I'm looking for a project to do considering my collab went fuck upward when the guy I was working with got arrested and put in jail for 6 months.

No, really?
It was an opinion?
I didn't know!
How could I have?

It's not like I'm the one who formed it.
Anyway, no.
I don't like musicals, hence my opinion that they're horrid.

Incidentally, I don't get the point of saying "Well that's just your opinion."
It's not like I was offering objective facts up for someone to refute.
I think they say that to offer some kind of condolence to themselves.
"Oh noes! Somebody else doesn't think the way I do! I must denounce them!"

I was considering saying "YES. FANTASTIC IDEA."... and for once I won't be swayed by peer pressure.

YES. FANTASTIC IDEA.

I've got a couple of Studio Lights and a decent HD Camera if your serious about this.

Yes. Yes. Yes! Make one. Now!

I would see it.

And I know some of you can't appreciate good musicals but here in New York we have something called Broadway and we know how to spend a hundred dollars on overpriced theatre tickets just so we can tell ourselves we are enjoying a play and feel sophisticated.

We also have lots of elitism, if you haven't noticed.

Seriously, though, musicals aren't that bad. As long as they're on Broadway, atleast. But I'm sure a Bioshock musical (if it reaches its full potential) would reach Broadway.

Oh shit oh shit oh shit run.
They're donning Crusader gear!
Bloody hell...not again...I haven't finished moving the bodies off my front lawn from the last Crusade they declared against me....sigh...
*goes to arm anti-nutball minefield*

Oh, umm...on topic: I have an innate hatred of musicals, so I'd have to disagree with the idea of making one of my top games into a song-and-dance routine.
