I'd kind of been considering doing a video game commentary series on Youtube, and writing lyrics for all of Bioshock, and then singing them, might be extremely amusing.

Suggestion steal!

just wondering if this has been canceled or not y'know :/ im still interested if you need voices~ :p and i think Ram is XD
Wow yeah I haven't checked this thread in a while now. And yes I'm still working on it, no way I'm giving up on a a project like this. I still believe in it. It's just that I've been busy with other things recently. My computer doesn't record sound for some reason and lately no one has sent in any voice samples or anything to even begin the rest of the project. If you have something to submit please let me know, I still support this project wholeheartedly.

Not sure if this is such a good idea...
Although, if we got more music out of it, I am all for it. The music in Bioshock is brilliant.
(Not talking about the original fifties tunes, but those are also awesome)

Crap, I've put off writing up songs for this so that I could try to finish my spy work. Now that that's pretty much done, I can pay more attention to the BioShock songs. (trying to make 'Octopus's Garden' into something about Arcadia, but so far not much luck.)

I'm going to try to write up songs for certain areas/events/people, and I'm playing through the game again as well to try to get more in...what's the word I'm looking for? Mindset of the game? Whichever, I'm working on new ones.

If there is any particular song you want to see or a event/place/person you want a song for, don't hesitate to ask.

I was thinking it would be great if you could do a song based on Ryan's speech in the beginning of the game, as well as his other quotes and sayings, that would be awesome. Doesn't really matter what song its based on in this case. So go crazy.

I actually really like the sound of this. If you need someone to sing, I'm all for it. I'm a baritone/ bass. If needed I could also write some of the music, but due to my lack of knowledge of the game writing dialogue or lyrics would be sort of tough for me.

This is the worst idea I've ever heard.

Honestly, Hitler had better ideas.

alalge, stay the fuck away from the entertainment industry, it's bad enough, we don't need you making it worse
Bringing Hitler in the equation seems kind of low, but yeah. Sorry buddy, I love the entertainment industry and I'm here to stay.

Thanks for the support, the responses seem to be a either you love it or hate it thing. Anyway, we could use some singers so welcome aboard, and do you have any references for your experience in song writing? If so do let me know.

As an actor/singer in training, doing a National Diploma in the Performing Arts atm, my 2 cents would be not to use the game's story as the plot but rather the setting of Rapture but say the civil war in Rapture and could do it either:
1) serious ala Les Miserables with replacing the revolution with the civil war
OR
2) tongue in cheek ala Repo!, story of vanity destroying people's humanity,

just my feelings....

Alright, I'm not even a musical fan, and this sounds brilliant. There'd be heaps of dark humour to mine, for a start.
Why do I think of an underwater Rocky Horror Picture Show all of a sudden?
With monsters in diving suits, mutant citizens and such. Yeah.

Maybe you are confused

musicals = suck (unless funny, which = dr. horrible or singing in the rain)

rock operas = not as much suck

metal operas = where its at

plus, big daddys singing for their little sisters would...suck

games that would make decent operas:
guitar hero (in like, 3 [i think] you rock your way to a battle with satan)
Portal
MAYBE beyond good and evil

...okay, thats it.
omgomgomg OMG!
