By the way, i mainly play games on Consoles, but when when i want to play really good Adventures like Machinarium or the Dreamfall ones, where do i go to? ^.^
Wait...Dreamfall: The Longest Journey had horrid controls on PC. The original TLJ was grand, though. But Dreamfall...UGH, at the controls. I ended up buying it for the Xbox.
Well i had that for the XBox... it has no end. X-P

I'm sorry, you can't list 3 features and say "it was definitely made for these things" and then the "4th" feature that we happen to be discussing is just an extra.

Of course they can be made for gaming, that's what a gaming PC is for - that's why it's called a gaming PC. Even a normal one can play games, therefore it's built for playing games (amongst other things too).

I'm not going to bother mentioning the fact that games are made on PCs.
Sorry just my opinion, gaming pc is so expensive compared to console and there only just as good or slightly better, so u pay 100s more for something mo thats not as good

So if PC's are good for games what are consoles good for?
They're good for holding PCs back.

Whey, first-class elitism. Consoles are also good for gaming too (obviously; if water's good to drink then that doesn't mean tea can't be good to drink, or coffee, or OJ, or- you get it) you've just got to roll with which you prefer.

Meh, if that's what you think then that's what you think. I disagree quite sincerely - to be honest I feel that your arguments (ones laid down by many console gamers) are off the mark, but ultimately, as long as you're playing the games you want, who cares?

I haven't been happy with a single PC game purchase in over 6 years (ignoring picking up old titles, which shouldn't count anyway).
Borderlands came close until I realized that it was ported to PC after the fact; shit-awful console menus and all (good work on another lazy port-job Gearbox). Thus was the illusion dispelled.

Call it a matter of perspective/opinion, but PC gaming has been dead to me for some time now.

Hey, Mr.Bioware? We don't give a fuck about your platform wars. We only wish we could play Mass Effect 2 on our PS3, but we can't because you are too busy being a lazy asshole and making internet declarations. Fuck you.
The real problem is human greed. Genetically. So, yeah, fuck genes!

I used to be a diehard console player until some of the PC titles started getting ported to console. Then I realised I liked many of these games and that it might be better to get a PC for them.

For certain games a mouse at least is essential. I played HL and Deus Ex on PS2 with a combo of controller (for movement) and a USB mouse for aiming. In fact, they were pretty unplayable without a mouse imo. Then I got Morrowind on the Xbox and learnt later about the existence of mods for the PC version I made the move to PC.

There's still certain games I'd like to have a console for (but no space for one at moment) such as platform games, even if they seem to be getting less popular now (outside of Mario), which is a shame as they are a staple of console play.

I find it interesting that when people talk about PC gaming is dying they point towards the market worth between consoles and PC and of course the console market is larger.
But they tend to ignore three important details. In average console games cost roughly 20% more, that there are three consoles and only one PC and they forget the market analysis ignores digital distribution and MMOs, which are a significant part of the PC gaming market.

Also, I like consoles... by holding back the technological development of games (mainly graphics), they make my PC expense much lower, by ensuring that games are playable on my computer on decent setting for a longer time.

As a member of the PC Gamer Master Race, I can easily say that PC gaming is very, very far from dead.
Currently I have over 50 games, many of which are PC only.
I'll list them if anyone asks, but otherwise I won't. too many.

Wow scapegoating console gamers again everyone? Is it me or Bioware worried about The Old Republic's sales so they're drumming up support by inflaming PC Elitism?

I don't own any of the current generation of consoles. I wouldn't call myself a PC elitist but frankly, I, like a fair amount of people, much prefer it. I prefer mouse and keyboard, switching only to a USB pad when I feel like it - not as default. I prefer the ability to use freeware. I enjoy the ability to use a flexible machine flexibly, frankly. I like that it's my stuff and it does what I want. I also love how a completely ridiculous gaming PC rig completely wipes the floor with the current generation of consoles on its version of their games.

That PC gaming is being cowed by console gaming is quite frankly obvious. Even PC-oriented series are being dragged down to the console level - look at Supreme Commander 2, it's a completely different game. The sequel is less epic, more cartoony, simpler, why? Because the 360 could. not. handle. the first game and the second had to be toned down to cater primarily for the console audience rather than the original market.

I first played Mass Effect on the Xbox 360. I was gutted that it apparently wasn't coming out for the PC. When it did, I could have exploded. Those sleepless nights I spent around a friend's flat playing it on their Xbox 360 soon were little more then practise for when I got the game for myself with a proper mouse and keyboard interface (ahh, soo much butter, far less clumsy, strugging with that stick was a seriously obstacle between me and the experience) - and turned the graphics settings up up and away past that the 360 has them at (and chugs on - seriously that's another thing that bugs me about current-gen consoles, they know the exact limitations of the thing, there's no excuse for crappy framerates. When the FPS on my PC chugs, it's because I was too ambitious. When it chugs on a console, it's developer sloppiness.)

Anyway, I beleive I've completely digressed here.

The fact is, PC gaming is here to stay. Consoles are a poor theatre for innovation and thus there will always be a need for the more flexible PC market and the crazy buggers who buy the latest hardware.

I just wish they would remember that there are still people out there who like turn based strategy. z: )

I have one thing to say: Starcraft 2

And really Blizzard in general.

Plus mouse for shooters is just so much better than auto-aiming joysticks.

Grand Theft Auto IV [http://www.worldofwarcraft.com]. Regardless of how you split that hair, however, Erickson said the PC remains a very important part of the BioWare formula.
What about Half Life 2?
A PC game with a successful Console version
Or perhaps the Sims?
Crysis?
Fallout?

But yeah no. PC games are just successful console ports
Wait...what? I'm pretty sure all those games you mentioned were originally for the PC, not ported to the PC from consoles. In fact I don't think the Sims were ever on a console. Am I misreading something?
