She's going to get on great with Joker.
I can see (paragon) Shepard and most of the original squad (if they're in the game) losing patience with her pretty quick too. Or keeping her sedated so she doesn't get bored and decide to blow up the Normandy.
Sure, you'd need to be either somewhat unstable or fanatically loyal to Shepard to go on this "suicide mission", but I'd prefer a one-psycho-limit. Subject Zero and Grunt look like they'll end up killing each other.

HK-47 and Hanharr worked in KOTOR because you knew they'd never betray you due to either programming or Kreia screwing with the walking carpet's lifedebt thing. The same can't be said for Little Miss Biotic Nutjob, unless lifedebts have been ingrained as part of her cultist shenanigans.

What the hell is wrong with you, bioware?
Why is there no-one for us paragons?
On the other hand, none of the team from ME1 were all that evil/bad. Wrex was badass, but still a "good" guy, so maybe it's part of their new darker theme.
I guess that might be what they are going for.

But something about having a bunch of psychopaths save the galaxy seems a bit strange.
Well, I suppose desperate times call for desperate measures. If the Reapers really are coming in ME2, Shepard will need all the help he can get, possible psychopathy of his new recruits aside.

I have no doubt that they're handy in a fight but not every Commander Shepard in the great, wide multiverse is going to want to resolve every dilemma he meets by shooting people in the face.
This is why I'm sticking with my usual squad, at least for my main character. Tali and Wrex form the best duo in my opinion, they kind of even each other out, like devil and angel on my shoulder bickering with each other what to do.

Am I the only one worried about all the new characters? More people is great, but what about the earlier characters? I sure hope Bioware hasn't killed them off because continuing the choices is too difficult for every single character.

Yes, I agree. This is beginning to seem a lot more like Saint's Row in space than the professionalism I saw in the first game. I can't see how all of that would have vanished more or less overnight.

Plus honestly, I haven't been following the game religiously (though I'll get it) but I can't help but wonder WTF happened to Wrex? Why do we need Grunt, I liked Wrex just fine.
ahh, but Wrex may or may not have died before the raid on saren's lab
you cant kill someone and then bring them back a few years later
That's why ME2 works off your savegame from ME1.

They said Shephard's new crew was like the galaxy's Dirty Dozen, but I hope they do something like 4 Renegades, 4 Paragons, and 4 in-between. I've seen the picture of the possible Quarian teammate (the one with the purple hood). I sincerely hope she's one of the Paragons, since I'm looking forward to taking a Quarian with me, as they were my favourite race in the game, although you saw exactly ONE of them. Tali was the best squad member ever. Maxed out hacking and maxed out shotgun is great.
and if you play through more than once? i used each shepard I made at least twice for different outcomes, letting each human die and only sparing wrex the 1st time. you're move
Mass Effect keeps a copy of your completed game file every time you finish, at least on the PC.

I guess, but I still don't understand why someone who is "dangerous, powerful and extremely violent" would be "exactly what I am looking for". That makes it sound like Shepard is going out of his/her way to have a psychopath on his squad.

Then again, Shepard isn't exactly known for his/her brilliant decisions.

"Let's let the queen of a murderous spider civilization free, shall we?"
"I'M TOTALLY GONNA BLOW UP THAT LAB THAT COULD SAVE A SPECIES FROM EXTINCTION!"
"The other races don't have the guts, grit or balls to do this" he said, in front of his teammates, among whom were a Turian, a Krogan and a Quarian. He later went on and picked up an Asari.
"Hey, your mum went totally bananas. Wanna come with me and kill her?"

Well, she's criminally insane and self-important, so of course if you hear what she has to say about herself... you'd end up with a somewhat abrasive trailer.

This confused me. Why did I have to blow up the lab? Why couldn't I gather the data from the research and give it to the Council? It just felt weird.

a self-described "badass biotic *****" known as Subject Zero.
Except the line goes...

"Now who's the badass biotic, *****?"

So she doesn't describe herself as a *****.
Watch the video again. She calls herself a ***** in the first ten seconds.

Also she looks like crap and I intent to never use her.

Well, then...

She doesn't describe herself as a badass biotic *****. Just a ***** and a badass biotic separately. <_<

They are unveiling the cool dangerous character's first to get people excited about the game, obviously they won't mention the archaeologist that runs around in your party. That would be boring... and stupid. They will unveil all their cool psychotics first because they sell more than good guys. Also I think the characters are a bit more unbalanced because the galaxy has gone to hell. (Also I bet there will be a few characters that will only join you because you are good and vice versa.)

We're still not entirely sure, seeing as it was blown up, but inside the lab you can see row after row of what look like cloning tanks, that plus the fact that the person in charge of the lab, a Krogan, was knee-deep in Husk research means that maybe the 'solution' Saren has to the genophage isn't that benevolent.

If Saren honestly wanted to use the Krogan army he created without worrying about them turning on him, as is prone to happen with the krogans, I'm pretty sure any plan he'd have to save the krogans would somehow include total subservience to Saren/You-Know-Who as part of a package deal.
