Borderlands 2. Call of Duty really needs to learn what the word 'colour' is, and Halo basically has no characters, just mannequins acting out the same alien invasion plot that a whole lot of other people have done better.

They also don't have as many guns.

I didn't like a lot about Black Ops. I thought the story was neat, but didn't really fit the series at all. The maps were nowhere near as good as in the Modern Warfare series, and the graphics - especially for consoles - were absolutely awful. I don't even mind them not being as good as Modern Warfare 2, but when they're so bad that you can't see enemies properly it kind of takes away from the gameplay.

I'll probably still get Black Ops 2 eventually, but I'm sure Halo 4 would be more fun.

Uh, not to be a wise ass, but what other game has one of the aliens being misled and they end up being allies with the humans. Not trying to be rude, I'm genuinely curious. Also before you say half life, I said misled, not brainwashed. There is a big difference.

Of the two in the title: Halo 4. Black Ops 2 is just another CoD game, meanwhile, I'm interested to see how 343 handles Halo now.

Black Ops was a big steaming turd. I'm not big into Halo like I used to be, but I have a lot more faith in 343 studios to make a decent game than I do in Treyarch. Treyarch's best work was World at War... which wasn't even a very good game.

Well, they're being misled by religion, which isn't much different than brainwashing. (That was purely a joke by the way, in case you're easily offended)

Halo isn't really even an alien invasion story, its more of a humans-and-aliens-find-cool-artificial-space-object-thing-that's-filled-with-an-ancient-horror-and-robots story. ODST and Reach were more about an alien invasion, but the main trilogy only had an invasion going on for the first few levels of 2 and 3 then went straight back to its original story.

OT: I'll be getting Halo 4 since I have faith in 343 Industries to make a good Halo game. I won't get Black Ops 2, because I've been sick of the COD franchise since MW2.

I may get some other shooters depending on how good the reviews I hear are.

I am not a fan of Black ops or Call of Duty, so that's out.

However Halo 4 has broken my heart in so many ways. Having seen some of the footage and heard details about it I can honestly say that it's very far away from the original formula. None of the old charm seems present, I really don't like that they seem to be turning Cortana into a psycho and I SERIOUSLY don't like how the Covenant have somehow returned despite the Elites allying with the humans and all the Prophets being dead. I also am annoyed that the Covenant now appear to just be generic cookie cutter evil alien monsters indistinguishable from the locust or the Ceph or any other evil aliens. In Halo 1, 2 and 3 the Covenant had actually personality and were even humanized to some degree, this is lazy.

But the final straw for me, the thing I can never forgive is 343 removing the Elites from multiplayer!!! Maybe the elites have only been removed from competative multiplayer (the article didn't specify) but so far we've seen no proof that you can play as Elites in custom games. Maybe we can but unless I have proof I'm not buying it. Yes, I am that petty. I'm sorry but being an Elite in mutliplayer was awesome. Not many games let me play as a reptilian alien as an option instead of boring old super human in a cyber suit, this was the reason why I preffered Halo to every other multiplayer game out there and now Halo 4 has decided to remove that.

So yes I am not a fan of Call of Duty but I cannot support Halo 4. Not if it really is just going to kill everything I loved about Halo in the process. Shitting on characters I loved, dubious retcons, multiplayer desperately trying to ape whatever is popular and sacrificing the things that made Halo genuienly unique to do it. Not happy about it.

I've never been a fan of CoD, even before it was supposedly "ruined" with World at War/MW2. However, BLOPS 2 actually looks kinda interesting. Apparently the campaign is gonna be somewhat none-linear and have real-time tactics style side missions. I probably won't get it full price, but in 7 years time when it goes down in price I might get it.

Halo over CoD for plot.
I loved the story to Halo:Combat Evolved, i loved culmination of the story of the first Call Of Duty but as the games progressed i feel that Halo gained a lore, story and setting i prefer to CoD as to be honest i can hardly remember a plot to any of the CoD. I remember the First CoD (i can still remember the names of Moody, Elder, price and Foley) , United Offensive and Call of Duty 2 but the rest is a blur, they just don't thrill or catch my attention as much as Halo, the plots just don't become memorable to me.

Save the story to Nazi Zombies, that whole arc was quite cool actually.

If you get Halo 4 you'll get cool points from me, besides if you want to play a a CoD game you may as well play one earlier in the series as they are all essentially the same

Both are fun games on their own. Problem is, I dont care enough about Halo or it's lore to jump into the forth game. I'm going with Black Ops 2. Between Reach and Black Ops. Black Ops got way more hours put into it.

Halo 4. I've nothing against CoD, but having completed WaW, MW and MW2 on veteran, I don't want to see a grenade ever again. Unless it's plasma. I'm curious to see where 343 takes the series, though the loss of Martin O'Donnell does worry me.

Out of those two, Black Ops 2. It's the one having it's main theme done by Trent Reznor, and the rest of the soundtrack by Jack Wall, one of the people behind Mass Effect 1 and 2's soundtracks.

Plus I'm slowly getting more excited about the campaign and multiplayer as I see and hear more about it. Also Zombies!

Will end up playing both at some stage probably though.

Of the two Halo 4. I have been of a fan of both series. But when Modern Warfare 2 came out, it just got stale for me.

But overall, way more excited for Borderlands 2, Dishonored, and Torchlight 2.

If I had to pick one, it'd be CoD, as that means I can play it with mouse and keyboard.

I'm not touching either game with a ten foot pole, however. CoD hasn't been good since MW1, and Halo is only available for console.
