I ended up unsubscribing this guy after this video.

SECOND CHANCE.

Forget Ghost, that's the perk that ruins the game for me.

And the knife.
Exactly. These are much more annoying, and have been for the past four COD games.

Exactly. I told him he should adopt a better play-style that incorporates other people's style of play and to stop assuming that everybody should play like he does. Obviously his fan-boys jumped on me and started calling me a ******, but enough people 'liked' the comment to make it worthwhile.

I know there are a lot of people that don't like Black Ops, and that's fine. But if you've ever ventured over to a little site called YouTube and watched three or four Black Ops videos, you will start to notice a strong hatred of the Ghost perk.

I've never come across this hatred on here and was wondering if anybody else had noticed this? There's quite a lot of dislike of Second Chance (but people have always disliked Last Stand and it's variants) but the hatred of Ghost is entirely new - seeing as Cold Blooded (and UAV Jammer etc.) has always been fairly acceptable.

So do you believe that using something that the game has provided is underhand or can be seen as cheating? Personally I think that if it's in the game for everybody then it's fair play.
UAV Jammer/Cold Blood Have always been my go-to perks in CoD because I usually play Hardcore, and there is no need for Stopping Power. But I have never heard of people being pissed about it. If anything, teammates would get frustrated at you for using it occasionally because of the no name tag thing and subsequent accidental team kills.

The only reason I would imagine people would have the same hatred for it now as they do second chance is the new perk combos. Ghost can be worn with different things now to change how it is played. Also, you get a ghillie suit. Personally, I don't care what perk a guy has, I care about what kind of weapon he has. A bush with a shotgun, SMG, or AR is not pleasant when I assume he is a sniper. I digress.

New people who have never played a CoD game are on Blops, so they have never played against ghost, jammer, or cold blood. They simply don't know how to play the game. That's all.

i ALWAYS use that perk.

cold blooded/ghost

i dont care what game it is, i will always use that if there is a perk for it.

i do not camp, literally i may stop moving for about 2 seconds at a time on the game, but i just flipping hate people who absolutely depend on their mini map and stupid attachment radars to get kills, and i hate air support, so if your in a room with me, ill be sure to take that down as soon as the first pixel comes into the sky.

I've always felt UAV Jammer and it's ilk were cowardly and cheap. The only reason to use them is to avoid direct confrontation, which is pretty cowardly in my opinion.
Well, if being cowardly was a concern, we'd all still be lining up, taking turns shooting volleys at each other. (Battlegrounds 2, here i come!)

True, the first few times you come across somebody in a ghillie suit and you assume they are a sniper, only to find they're holding an assault rifle, can be a little frustrating - but you quickly learn.

But to say that new players 'don't know how to play the game' is a little harsh. You mean they don't know the standard conventions of making a class; when the Ghost perk was a tier two perk that was used at the expense of perks like Stopping Power? Just because they're not making a 'normal' or 'acceptable' kit doesn't mean they don't know how to play. If anything they're making the game fresher and more exciting - their choice of kit will make you think about your choice, and the way in which you play.

You have a point, but I didn't literally mean they don't know how to play- more like they haven't experinced or dealt with a person in a game that they can't see on radar (and they don't like it). Let's be honest here: many of these players are kids that will get pissed at something like Ghost for existing because they don't know what to do about it. Their precious killstreaks can't see them, and they can't kill them on foot. In the other CoD games, when you go into a building with a radar up and get killed from a corner you didn't clear, that is your fault, and you quickly learn that. From the little I have played of Blops, that isn't the case. These are a lot of new players who probably think Ghost makes you invincible or something. And who has the time to make all those Youtube videos? I don't. I have work and college. Kids do though..

My biggest issue with it? The Ghillie Suit. I still have it hardwired into my brain that ghillie suit=sniper like in the previous games, so I tend to get overconfident and rush in just to get SMG'd in the face.

Its annoying.

I'm I the only one that doesn't find camping a "n00b tactic"? Cause it's the best way to get kills, points and by the end points is the only thing you want.

I'm not even sure it's to do with new players. I don't think I know of anybody that has only just started playing online shooters because of Black Ops; everybody I know has been playing them from at least WaW onwards - though that isn't to say that there aren't entirely new players. With the layout of the perks (and I personally think, some of the maps) it's easier than it was to remain hidden than in Call of Duty's of old. But then again, COD4 didn't have Blackbirds or user-controllable uber-killstreaks.

I think if we want to be able to dish out more punishment (i.e. better killstreaks) then we should respect those that want to remain hidden and make it more difficult. One of the biggest problems of MW2 was the way in which the killstreaks easily stacked up. Yes, they got around this in Block Ops by making you earn the kills with your weapon, rather than your streak, but now we're complaining that players are running around with ghost kits ruining those killstreaks? It seems like we want both.

I've sort of digressed a little. The point is is that just because it has 'Call of Duty' written on the box, doesn't mean it can be played in the same way as any of the other COD games. I'll admit sometimes my tactics are a little bit COD4-style: bum-rush the enemy. But Black Ops is a entirely new game, and must be played in an entirely new way. And however much people complain, Treyarch can't simply take Ghost out of the game or switch it with another perk - it would just require way too much work. People are just going to have to adapt, or play another game.

The only thing I truly hate about this perk is the fact that it's made me curse the name of Ghost
(reference: Modern Warfare 2)

I know, right. He works for Machinama (heard of them?) and has a massive following. Most of his Call of Duty videos he just talks about things he doesn't like, calling people faggots, or Dragon Age Origins. There are much better people to be following on YouTube.

Oh boy, WingsofRedemption.

As far as I know, people have been complaining about UAV Jammer in CoD4. As for Ghost, Flak Jacket and Hardline are just as good. Radar is a crutch.

Ghost is completely necessary on maps like Jungle with not a whole lot of real aerial cover.

Last two times I've got a Chopper Gunner in TDM on Jungle I've gone 41-2 and 44-0 because nobody had a Ghost/Anti-aircraft class.

I don't use it myself, but if a team wants to win, they could do with having a couple of people running Ghost.

Fuck Second Chance though.

I use Hacker Pro and Ghost Pro with a silenced assault rifle of the hour... Cowardly? Perhaps but at least i didn't get my shit ruined by throwing strategy out the window and trolololing across the middle of the map... As a great man once paraphased "i'll show you the difference between strategy and real time tactics nOObs" XD

I can respect that some people prefer to just run in, but calling people who do anything but that cheap is just retarded.

Thanks, that guy sounds like a plonker..."Nothing can counter ghost." How about common sense and being on your toes...Argh the more I listen the more I dislike him...
