I've seen one video with no hands on experience and believe the words of others without testing the fruits of someone else's labor and creating an informed opinion of my own.

Alternatively we could see that the reason that MW2 started dying on its arse fast and hard was because the studio that developed it and would later need to nurture and patch it died. Thus leaving the game free for one and all to exploit.

Maybe. Just maybe. A studio that isnt suing one another for not being paid would be able to observe game play trends. Look out for over use of weapons. Keep up to date with what the players and complaining about and, I dunno, create patches and updates with weapon nerfs and improvements to make sure their finely crafted product does not fall prey to glitchers, exploiters and the retard front.

Maybe they already have. Maybe they heard everyone bitching about the quick scoping and said. We should put as stop to this.

A world where a forum Troll can be called out as someone begging for attention because he so desperately wants it. A person, lets say, who would call a game unbalanced and broken. Quickscoping isn't sniping, it's fucking ridiculous. This means people will have to actually snipe instead of treating it as a run and gun weapon.

My point exactly. Sniping means holding ground and providing support, not taking point running into battle and jumping 360 degrees off boxes for Youtube montages.

I don't seem to recall being killed by dogs much in WaW. Oh, right, because when I heard the barks I REACTED. I didn't just let them kill me then ***** about how overpowered they were.

Seriously, for one the game isn't even out yet and already it's the worst thing ever. Secondly, for all these people who complain about it not being "realistic" you sure do have a funny sense of realism if it involves running around bunny hopping with double shotguns. Yeah, that's realistic. But at least you can't quick scope. *drives mini RC car around blowing people up* Realism!

I am personally glad for quick-scoping with snipers to have been booted. I can honestly say I'm not the only one tired of getting sniped constantly by quick-scoping [expletive].

Chopper gunner looks awesome, as well as being able to actually snipe the pilot out and not having to try and hit it with a rockey or some crap. Snipers can focus on bigger issues like this instead on dominating a map by camping constantly. Yes camping is a real strategy, but it doesn't mean you should be invincible due to it.

The dogs are just that, dogs. Quick and vicious, so be even quicker with your pistol and you should be good. Listen for them as well, so many people stop listening to the environment and sounds around them that they loose on that alone. As well with the RC, it's quick and deadly. Watch your ass and you should be good. Luck factors into everything so why shouldn't you be lucky enough to get a 6+ kill with it. It just teaches people to not stick together all the time, lest they'll get owned hardcore. Divide and conquer, or at the very least don't stand right next to your teammate. The RC won't be your biggest fear, accidental team killing will.

Though I'll give you second-chance, that has always been rage inducing.

Well the thing is, quick scoping is as believable as noobtubing. The main reason you don't shoot grenades randomly or close to yourself is because the shrapnel could kill the user. Quickscoping with a sniper rifle makes as much sense as quick scoping with a machine gun. Both are pretty heavy bastards of which are not easy to shoulder mount. If you want quick scoping with a sniper rifle, I want quick scoping with a machine gun.

In the video he fires point blank into the bots' chests and the hit doesn't register.

That happend in MW2 as well. I was reffering to the first couple shots where he was aiming just outside the enemy and he didn't hit. Might be me just interpreting it wrong though.

Frankly im glad quickscoping got a serious nerf. I mean people never used the FN FAL in MW2 because quickscoping was an actual alternative to semi auto assault rifles. Quickscopers brought it on themselves. Now your staring down the barrel of my Enfield and you sir are buggered.

Besides, isn't this how game developers improve their games? By getting feedback and voiced concerns? Sure rocket launchers are fun with most games but if not properly balanced they can be a nuisance to people playing the game. Patches are released based on voiced concerns and feedback. That's reason enough that we should speak up and not "get the fuck over it."

Well, usually when a shot doesn't register in MW2 it's because of internet connection and lag. You are right about the first couple, you should never get a kill when aiming outside the enemy (but my god it happens a lot in MW2)

But as far as I know, this guy was playing local against bots, in which case lag should not be a factor and it was either awful hit detection or a deliberate nerf that prevents you from getting a kill until you have been scoped in for a certain time.

I guess we won't know which it is till we play the game ourselves!

Actually they did have a private beta, I'm not sure how much better that is if at all. Some people also hacked their way into the beta, which I find pretty funny.

Private Betas don't work because they aren't played by douchebags, they're played by more serious, fair minded gamers for the most part.

What they need to do is let the douchebags run riot in a Beta and find all the glitches and exploits, then patch them all before release.

A million times this, it would make so many games multi player so much better right off the bat rather than having everyone ***** and moan until the first few patches come out to "rectify" all the problems. I personally don't like CoD (a mixture of me sucking, and friends being super hardcore has ruined it for me) but i'm also not so much of an ass that I don't want any game to be as great as it could be and whine all day just because I don't like a particular series of games.

I'll probably hop on every once in awhile to play with some of my less "hardcore" friends since i'm sure my brother will pick this up at midnight, but it'll have to take a backseat due to the backlog of games i'm playing

I constantly hear this complaining about quickscoping in CoD games, and I'm wondering... Why do people find it so unbalanced? Well yeah, it doesn't exactly go with the point that snipers stand for but what else? I mean, in TF2 at least, quick scoping takes a considerable amount of skill.

Quickscoping in Modern Warfare 2 abuses the aim assist function. When you hit aim with the crosshairs centered over an enemy, the gun will be locked onto them when you look down the sight. How it abuses it is that the weapon will already be locked onto the target pretty much the moment you hit aim, so you can fire a sniper rifle and hit a target before you get anywhere near looking down the scope. Factoring in that a sniper rifle with FMJ and the Stopping Power perk has around a 85-90% chance of getting a one shot kill makes it an extremely effective, and fairly frustrating to face, tactic. Sure, it works well, but it looks all sorts of wrong when people charge in with a sniper rifle that they use like a shotgun.

This post is almost entirely untrue.

The only effect aim assist has on quickscoping is that if you drag your scope over the person it slows down very slightly when you're over them, making it slightly, slightly easier to hit them.

You do not lock on, that is simply, and demonstrably not true.
Furthermore until you are actually in scope, any shot is treated as a no scope, i.e. will go anywhere in your crosshairs.
Lastly, you will do better with an automatic gun every time, this is fact.
A sniper rifle is a one hit kill, eh 70% considering hitmarkers, it takes a little while to bring up the scope, long enough to be killed by a Scar, or a FAMAS, and then you have to factor in how much more difficult it is to aim and hit someone with one bullet rather than thirty.

All of this quickscoping hate (or at least the vast majority) comes from people who're butthurt because they see people owning them with a sniper rifle and are pissed off.

Yep, COD requires either serious dedication or a lot of natural talent to stay at a level where you can compete. People play that game all day every day!

With New Vegas, AC Brotherhood, Fable 3 all out, its gonna be tough to find the time to be good at Black Ops
