So, today I learned that the upcoming game XBlaze: Code Embyro is actually a visual novel set in the Blazblue universe? So that's weird.

They really should issue more warning, shit I need to buy a PS3 first and everything. However, in other news, CP will be arriving in the EU shortly next year. So no bother.

Yup why not just import it like I am doing? its ridiculous waiting for Arc games in Europe I just hope the new Persona game and GG arent region locked because I will be importing them otherwise. Im tired of supporting releases in my own territory and getting nothing for it you would think they would step up their game after BBCT and its tardy release but no they really didnt (much) and P4A was the last straw for me im not supporting incompetence from publishers anymore unfortunately I am not helping the Europe base by importing as I dont intend to buy it again but I have just been pushed past what I am willing to accept. We wait and wait and get nothing for it not even any free DLC with P4A its just sad.

I suppose I will import it if it's not region locked, I buy everything online anyway but I wouldn't mind hearing at least an approximate EU release beforehand. I need to move money around before I start buying stuff anyway and i'm nothing if not lazy. For argument's sake what if people stop buying from EU releases and just import then they stop releasing things in the EU entirely THEN region lock to NA only. I suppose the netcode is as good as ever so I don't really have to worry about overseas connections being laggy.

Is there anything else on PS3 exclusive that's good, aside from your usual Last of Us. Isn't there something about a PSP to PS3 app thing? If so I could actually play P3P and see if it fixes any of my issues with Persona 3. I mean I bought a 3DS just for the new Ace Attorney so i've done it before but there must be other stuff out there.

Well theres obviously all of Naughty Dogs stuff and the Infamous series which I personally despise but hey some like it. The best exclusive by far imo is Valkyria Chronicles its also the best game released in a long time in my opinion actually its my second favorite game ever and I hate strategy games usually you might not feel the same but if you do get a PS3 do yourself a favour and check it out at least.

The new Persona 4 Arena game will be multi it seems but GG is PS only (3 and 4). I think if you want to continue enjoying Arc games getting a PS3 would be the way to go. You may also get some other more obscure ones such as J stars Victory or Aquapazza if you wanted hopefully Dengeki Bunko Climax and Under Night in Birth gets a PS3 release as well.

There are also free to play fighters such as DOA5 core (or whatever they call it) which has probably the best free to play model of fighters out there basically imagine Killer Instinct on Xbox one and now imagine it being free that what you get with the basic non payed download. The other one is Tekken Revolution where you get the joys of facing unpunishable unsteppable spamming Laws and Lilis among other things because lag makes it impossible to punish (this is worst case actually but you will lose to stuff like this especially when they pump 200 into power and mix it up a little as 3 hits is dead for you then and you will have to guess each time you wont be able to react like its offline, This is also one of the main reasons you will see these characters a lot they have huge rewards for little effort and low execution, Kazuya is the same only much better but a tiny bit more difficult to use which makes him very easy to use rather than braindead retardly easy).

I guess it comes down to how much you like Arc are you a true fan? (jk btw)

As for them possibly stopping the EU release entirely and then region locking the NA version well I dont see that happening very often mainly because it would actually lose them a fair amount of sales if there was a huge discrepancy in the pricing of the american version and the japanese version and they released at similar times then they may do it basically what happened with P4A (well thats their excuse dont know what the excuse is for why it took so long to bring it to Europe with zero translations). Gotta stop those Japs reverse importing and not being forced to pay through the nose.

If this did happen though well it happens I am actually seriously considering buying a Japanese PS4 this time so in case of region locks I can probably still access the game I am most likely to play (also they are cheaper than the ones here atm)

There probably will be a re-release it is true this is Arc after all, most fighters get a re-release actually. People buy it because they want to play it now why get Skyrim when its released eh? there will only be a game of the year edition later with all the DLC. Some wait some get it straight away all depends how much they want to play it.

Also the game has already seen a patch and has new characters. Dreiko posted a link earlier for the patch notes. Terumi and Kokonoe are the DLC characters at the moment I believe. With a re-release I expect more will be added (hoping for Jubei).

As of now no re-release is mentioned (as you would expect) but yes I would expect one, however dont forget Arc are bringing out/back GG this year and the next P4A game it may be that they shift focus.

You ofc dont have to buy it or to like it but others do like it and want to buy and play it

Well the story of BlazBlue is already a Visual Novel with fights sprinkled into it, it's not too hard to make the jump if ArcSys really wants to push the story aspect. Gotta say BB's story gets really confusing so maybe that would help it, I think i've got the idea then during the last 10 minutes of someone's story mode Hazama drops every plot word into a speech and i'm totally lost again.

The exception being Carl who somehow has the best story mode of them all. It makes sense, everyone has clear motivations, there's manly 1v1s and epic confrontations and revelations and robot on robot action and most importantly, Hazama doesn't saunter in at the end and announce "The plot ends here kiddos!" just as things get interesting! Awesome!

Oh DOA5 is F2P? Cool, i've seen zero screens or footage of it and i've always written it off as being too fanservicey but if the mechanics are good then I might as well try.

I swear to god i've seen you raging about Tekken around here before. It reminds me of my posts on UMVC3's X-Factor mechanic, ye gods the essay I could write on how pants on head retarded that is. Tekken is 3D right? I've never really been into 3D fighters for some reason, it's hard enough to play when you only have one dimension to worry about and the characters somehow seem less interesting. I played SC4 for a bit and kind of mashed buttons because I understood nothing and i'm confused to this day why Yoda was allowed into the roster. I don't know if he's super God Tier or the worst thing ever.

I've seen a bit of Valkyria Chronicles actually (World War 2? Never heard of it. >.> <.<) It looks a bit like Fire Emblem and anything like Fire Emblem gets a gold star in my book.

Also, nobody has said a word about there being one, what has been said from the producer is that Arcsys is working on GGXrd and P4U2 so they'll be not doing much of anything regarding BB until these two are finished which won't be till the end of the year (which is when Xrd releases in Japan).

If anything they'd wanna market the new thing so people would buy it rather than conceal its existence and then suddenly go "oh right, this exists, it's coming out next week so please buy it!" lol. Guilty gear has had 1 PSP remake game and 1 vita update (which was available for free on ps3) from 2007-2014. I think that's quite reasonable lol. As I said, the BB patch will be free DLC for this game. They can't physically make a whole new other patch and a game to go around it to sell separately in a years worth of time while also making persona 4 arena 2 and Guilty gear Xrd.

I did. Till They wanted me to do a bunch of combos at once. 2 hours later I said fuck it. And online had nothing but people whod either A) kick me from the room because my w/l sucked to them or anyone I did play would beat me within seconds.

Huh? P4A? That's an entirely different series. This is Blazblue Chronophantasma. They're made by the same company, that's all. You can't rationally judge this series based on a different series.


What do you mean "the communities to change"? That's a very broad and generic statement that can be fulfilled by just about anything.

I still have to wait for the Vita release (hopefully with the DLC characters included), but I'm so hyped for this game. I've been playing BB since CS2 and I am still horribly bad at it because of my on/off relationship with the game. If I did try online, people would wipe the floor with my ass within seconds. At the moment, I really enjoy playing with Makoto and had somewhat positive results when practicing with Jin and Tao but I lack skill with either for A) I don't watch combo tutorials and B) the challenge combos are seriously messed up. A lot of them seemed to be focused more on style than effectiveness...
