On the other hand, companies focusing on the multiplayer (Battlefield, CoD, Words with Friends) tend to neglect the single player, as if THAT is that tacked on bit. Believe me, I would come back and replay awesome levels of games, if I try the multiplayer for 2 days and get bored, I'm not touching it again, because by the time I come back everyone has found the cheats (I'm looking at you MW3).
I'd rather pick up a old single player campaign and do it on a harder difficulty, or lend it to a friend so we can talk about certain bits we liked. My brother plays BF3 and, even though he's been on it for weeks and weeks, all he can say is "I've got a new gun!" Thats the most exciting part of his game. New gun.
