So, could they re-enable LAN now? So I could HAVE some sort of dick-shaped map, and then just keep it among my bros? Is that so much to ask for?
Yes. Yes it is.

If you want to know why, send them an email.
I'll take up your challenge, sir!!
Would you happen to have a copy of a similar one you sent them recently that I could flood their inbox with?

You know I'm curious, define "inappropriate content". Like dick-shaped maps? Maps that spell curse words? Wonder what all the fuss is about
Maps containing words like "Suicide", "God", and "Blow" apparently in any of their triggers or dialogue can't even be uploaded to the Battle.Net btw.

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=127066
And now, tell me why you would put those words in a StarCraft 2 map?
God or gods can be used as a story element
In what way. Recreate the crusade? RTS have begun with game like chess, and it still strive without it. It's insulting for people that doesn't share your or the custom designer view of your and his religion. I'm well aware that those may be religious extremist (that's what i call people that push you in any way for not sharing the same Fate.) but they also bought that game and has the right to enjoyed it as much as you. I may not like that they use their religion to censored other, but I'm willing to let them play any game that they see fit without players shoving god or gods in their face.
ciortas1 said:
i'm sure you've heard of the term killing blow,
That the only word that is ambiguous. They should check first before removing but with Penis Shaped level, you can't really be surprised about that one.
ciortas1 said:
and i'm almost completely positive that the suicide goblins in Warcraft 3 had their suicide skill named 'Suicide', not self-bomb or whatever dumb crap is possible to come up with. Come to think of that, I think bomb is censored aswell.
If i recall correctly, they are call exploding Gobblin and their skill is call explode.

ciortas1 said:
Also, I already stated above why porn and other nasty shit wouldn't surface as it is.
They shouldn't surface at all. That the thing many escapisters escapeartists Escapees have told you.

ciortas1 said:
To refer to your post above; first, I never said I myself find those jokes or shock images funny, second, hiding behind idiotic laws isn't supposed to help you. We all know porn is illegal; we all also know that most 14 year-olds have seen and/or jacked off to it more than once already. Parental limiting? Please.
Some parent do, in fact. Yeah, it a overly sexualized world, still there's bad parent everywhere. I have seen my first porn at the age of 9 but that doesn't mean that i should advocate people to do so. And if your smarter than your kid, you can really block porn site all together with him or her (no, that's more of a boy thing) finding a way around it.
ciortas1 said:
People have the right to not see dick jokes as funny, but the same can be said about any jokes, except this one usually has to deal with some sort of insecurity.
You are throwing me the YOU ARE GAY because i defend the right not to have Penis-shaped map? Class act, my friend.

No, it's not about insecurity, it about having fun. If they don't find the dick joke funny, they won't like your penis-shaped level. That's the bottom line.
ciortas1 said:
And let me ask you a question, do you really not think banning penis-shaped objects being in as much as terrain of a map is stupid?
What!?!?! What are you trying to say? Well, I think that you want to ask: Do you really think banning penis-shaped objects in terrains of a map is stupid?

No, i don't think it's stupid. You know why? When you want to see penis and your over 18, you look at porn. When you want to Zerg rush a enemy fortress, you play Starcarft 2. Get it? You don't need to mingle the two together.
ciortas1 said:
Oh, oh, by the way, people like to use the escapist as an example in contrast to 4chan when trying to compare it to the way SC2 and WC3 worked. I'll give you a clue - you can use any language you want, as long as common courtesy and common sense is involved.
Yet you can see it's courtesy for people not wanting to see dick in game. Oh! And by the way:

Word of wisdom: If more people find your penis-shaped level Unfunny and dump, maybe you shouldn't make one.

SC2 with its censorship is going borderline thought police, if it isn't already in that zone.
Wha!?!?!
Your English is worst than mine. I can't make the sense of that last phrase.

The goblin ability, you may be right, I got wrong. However, give me one reason why the word suicide is offensive. One, that's all I'm asking for.
*Ace Ventura's Deep breath*
Some religion, if not all think that suicide is a sin and therefore offensive And while this may be a weak reason, the fact that some people died because of Starcraft 1, blizzard is ever more careful not to have that word in since they doesn't want to be link to potential suicide or being the forum where some dumbass has left a suicide note in which they would untimely be blame for it in the media.
*Breathe heavely*
That... huff... is why... huff... they don't want that.... huff... word in it.

Other points I won't even address because they reek of just too much self-absorbance and fallacy.
What? You really think your own right are above everyone else? Yeah, it's a fallacy if you think yourself higher than everyone else.

ciortas1 said:
Also, my english isn't bad, it's just you who can't make sense of it. It may be too complicated for you, but it isn't bad.
Yes it is. I don't want to be a Grammar nazi, partially because i want them to suffer and die an painful death... it's my desired and can be changed, but i'm as good as a the next guy. And the next guy is a speaking english since birth. I always got 95 to 100% in any english project yet i can't make sense of that last phrase on your last post. But people make mistake and i didn't call you a idiot for it. I even let you rephrase it. Yet, you want to debate about quality, the place i didn't wanted to go. I'll won't insult you, but I'll ask more directly. Could your rephrase that sentence?

Once the ambiguity of their statement has been finally cleared, this issue will either cease or grow...

Oh no, Blizzard is filtering content that you share on THERE SERVERS. Really guys is this such a big deal. You can still make the maps, I a map shaped like a penis is the kind of thing that amuses you. You just can't give it to other people. From some of the comments here you'd think that Blizzard had just seized control of your computer and all files there in to do as they pleased.
Again, if your only argument is that of "it's their game", the exit is to the top right part of the screen.
First off my argument is not "it's their game", but rather "it's their server". The difference being that you CAN make the map, just not post it. For example if I had a server in say TF2 where I prohibited the use of cheats and exploits, I would be within my rights to kick or ban anyone who did those. Or to put it another way when you're in my house you have to abide by my rules. These forums could be considered another good allegory for servers, as they have rules and people to enforce them. weather you like these rules or not is not my point but rather that they have the right to make whatever rules they want.

Perhaps you could make the argument that Blizzard has a monopoly on SC2 servers and that that is wrong. In which case I would agree, personal servers should be allowed. But that is not the topic at hand here.

Also I get the feeling that you are referencing another post you made. If you want to bring my attention to your point you should either, post a link to the other post, copy and paste the other post, or re type out your argument as it applies to this case. As it is what I see when I read your response is, "I don't agree with what you think so leave". Which for one, makes you seem arrogant in that your opinions are the only ones allowed here. And two isn't so much an argument as saying you don't agree. For it to be an argument you must back up your opinions in some way.

I modded wc3 for years and was looking forward to sc2. After playing with it's editor and seeing the degrading state of Bnet2.0 I stayed away from it. Glad I did.

Spending months of your time (litterally hundreds of hours of work) and having a risk it will be removed without any warning or reason would make me stop modding any game. The mapping limits were well more than enough, but this?

EDIT: The question isn't "can they ban" the terms clearly state they can do whatever they want. The question is "should they ban".

Some people don't realize that it's possible to run malicious code in some maps (at least for a short time in Warcraft III it was, but they patched that I think), however they didn't have the resources to get rid of these maps. Now that they do, I'm glad they're getting rid of that stuff, if people don't want to play because they can't have their penis maps, then good. We don't want you playing if you're that kind of person.

Here's a challenge for the News Room:

In the following week, can you find me a story that doesn't paint Acti/Blizz as something short of the Third Reich?

I mean, fair's fair, you get a week.

(That's not to say the news is, in any way, biased; but they just keep acting like such control freaks)
I see your Activision/Blizzard and raise you Australia. :p

Yet another reason not to buy that crap. Inappropriate maps...ffs. On no somebody made a plateau shaped like a dick, better hide it before all the girls turn into whores and the boys into catamites.

I wish the "think of the children" people would just go form a commune somewhere and stop bothering the rest of us.
So you really want to play on a map shaped like a giant penis? It's a T rated game. Look what happened to Spore.

i really don't see a problem here, blizzard has the full right to ban maps that have immature porn or swears on them. people need to calm the fuck down about this because monitoring and removing inappropriate content is quite common these days anyway.hell someone try and post some porn on THESE forums and watch what happens...i doubt anyone would ***** about The Escapist banning people and removing posts of those who link porn or anything else that violate their forum policy. So why is Blizzard so different?
Would you like your post to be removed due to swearing? After all, a child could possibly view it.

I'm fine with it in concept, I'm just wondering how much leeway they are giving the maps, and where exactly they're gonna be drawing the line.

Well I think it's about time. I always hated dl a map in SC 1 and a naked fat guy popped up laughing on the map. Or the "Dirty" defense games that would be so common. I would have to sort through all the listed games to find a good one. Kudos Blizzard.
