Blizzard's New Cataclysm Video Is Shameless Scenery Porn
Very much like this title is shameless link/hit bait.
I thought it was actually very appropriate

They've only been remaking shit for a while now, that's my whole problem. Since the original WoW, there's not been a single new memorable piece of music that's come out of their artists. 'Least for me, anyways, but it's funny how it correlates with their former composer leaving after composing for the aforementioned game.
The first part of that video is pretty awesome musically, anyway. And I thought WotLK's zone music was absolutely superb.
And while this these are technically based off of the WC3 theme, these are fantastic arrangements:
If anything, I think that aside from a few early standouts like 'Making of the World,' the game's music has only gotten better.
Either way, it seems a bit iffy to call them out on "rehashing" music when the entire point of leitmotif is to have a consistent theme that gets reworked. WOW has a theme song for the series, and it's to be expected that it'll pop up in various composition. Why shouldn't they use their game's theme?

Good design, yes. Colourful, yes. Pretty?....It looks beyond dated.
After playing Metro 2033/seeing it on Max, it really puts into perspective what is and isn't damn nice/eye candy.

Of course. It's running on a ten year old engine that was originally designed to run on less powerful computers. There's no question that on a technical level, it's ancient.
The art design is still fantastic. I'm really just impressed that a game that's that technologically dated can still look so good.
