I know that this isn't what you're looking for, but I hope you realize that you are only a haircut and a wardrobe change from being a highly eye-pleasing dude. (If that's your choice, that's okay too.)
I am definitely not cutting my hair. My fashion sense is terrible, and I really don't know anything about it at all; I think most clothing people think looks nice on other people looks pretty stupid and awful on me. Besides, I'd rather be a little different rather than another stupid Hollister clone.
Not what I'm saying at all; long hair is fine, it just needs to have some shape to it rather than being pulled back into a ponytail(?). You also don't need to be wearing cashmere sweaters and silk scarfs; you just need to be wearing clothing that fits properly - yours is bigger than it needs to be, and it's amazing how much better people look when they wear stuff that's a bit more flattering to their body type.

Like I say, if you're happy with how you look, that's the most important thing, but if you want to present yourself a bit better (I'm trying pretty hard to phrase that respectfully - you know what I mean, right? Sort of de-emphasizing your negative traits and emphasizing the attractive ones?) there's not a lot of work that you need to do.

Unfortunately, clothing these days is made for ridiculously large people. That jacket is a small. I'm thin (120 pounds), and I'm 5'7" tall, so most clothing is too big for me, even if it's the smallest size available.

I have attractive traits? News to me.

Body image for others: I can't find anyone fat attractive, no matter how awesome a person they may be.

I suppose that's a very shallow thing to say, but here's my justification. I'm into sports, really, really into sports. I do at least one kind of heavy excersize for at least an hour every day, I love being active. How is someone like me supposed to find any kind of emotional connection with someone who thinks it's too much effort to run up the stairs?

As for my body:
I'm happy with, it gets up in the morning and the scars add character.
Although it would be nice if it would gain some muscle mass, being big and skinny is fine, but you'd think all that excesize would have more effect than just staying big, skinny and with massive legs...

Whilst you're out shopping you might want to stop by the "Self Esteem" shop and pick up some, something tells me you need several doses of it:D

eh... personally i don't care so much... i have no idea what makes me like some peoples physical appearance and dislike others when they can practically be exactly the same size/shape... oh well...
I would just want Sean connery's voice... damn its sexy (im a straight guy btw but damn lol)

Idk Mickie James in the WWE is probably one of the best girls ive ever seen

I'm just being realistic, really. I'm well aware of how hideous and awful a person I am and I see no reason to try to delude myself; it goes against my very nature to do so.

"Realistically" speaking everyone can be attractive, but you have to stop talking yourself down and actually do something about it, if you wear shit clothes you're going to feel shit, if you wear clothes that flatter your body shape(like others have suggested)then you will feel good, it's not rocket science. I only like to help people who can help themselves, otherwise what is the bloody point of trying?

Everything you've said has been negative, stop it. It only takes for you just say to yourself "I'm attractive" for you to start thinking it, don't knock it, I was in the same shoes you were two years ago but now I love my body and right now I'm improving upon "perfection" by working out, eating healthy etc. No one else is going to give a damn about your body except you, but if you don't give a damn about your body then who will? And it doesn't just stop with clothes either, if you're this negative about your appearance then I dread to think how negative you are in general.

I'm going to stop now before I shread whatever ounce of self esteem you may have left(or I get banned, whichever comes first).

Ooh, ooh, banned! I want to see that one!

Honestly, I'm not all that negative (at least not most of the time), just cynical and sardonic. Unfortunately, a lot of people mistake this for outright hatred/anger/negativity. Not to say that I don't possess those as well, when warranted.

Well I can't help you with that, like I said, if you're not willing to help yourself.

I'm not 100% sure about what the thread is about. Self Image, or an ideal significant other?

I have a horrid self image.

I'm not really picky when it comes to a girl's body. I'd just like her to have good taste in music, I've yet to meet a girl which had good taste in music T_T

In an interesting article in Psychology Today, apparently less attractive guys have an altered sense of beauty. Their taste in women is altered by their desirability.

This thread is getting a little wierd.......
anyways i gotta say that keely hazell, lucy pinder, and jessica alba are the best of the best when it comes to bodies; although I would take my girlfriend, a chick who loves videogames and movies and all the other stuff I like over those three chicks any day cuz boobs can only carry a relationship so far.......
As for myself, well i can't compete with the above chicks cuz im a dude, but I like to think I pull off the "skinny white boy" look quite well...

wow, lol this thread got further than i expected, hot-topic badge - WOO!! haha lol
the original question was about your ideal body for you to be in, not ideal partner
but that's a relevant question lol
i can't find fat chicks attractive lol it simply does not aesthetically please me
but you've got to have Something to grab hold of lol skeletal girls can fuck right off lol

which is it worse to be - disgusted with your own body image or in love with your body-image?

HaHa lol look at Lee lat's; fuck me, that guy could glide if he jumped off of something tall

I like a little "junk in the trunk" - or so i believe the phrase is in "da ghetto boi!"
But the unhealthy image that gets pinned on is an incredibly valid point

Do you believe this is down to genetics? (searching for the best person to pass on genes to)
Or down to a want to have the best woman kinda thing Or simple personal preference?
Well attraction is part genetics and part of what society deems attractive, humans generally look for physically fit mates wtih pleasing facial symmetry, but society paints an extreme picture of what is attractive, especially for women, deeming that even a slight amount of body fat is disgusting flab. celebrity women with perfectly acceptable bodies are slammed for gaing as little as 5-10 pounds. so body image is skewed by popular culture, and women are expected to live up to unrealistic standards. men are as well but to a lesser extent, men in hollywood are considered attractive when they are thin with lean muscle is built on top. now while it is realistic for women to desire strong muscular men, this notion of them being so thin and well defined isn't.
most men are reasonably attractive when they are at least partly muscular with a thin layer of fat.
also my ideal body image would be... probly brad pitt in fight club

Looks matter to everyone, whether they want to admit it or not.
I may not be ripped, but I'm certainly no slouch. My problems stem more from my proportions more than anything. Tall and gangly = lack of leverage.

Does anyone find that attractive?

I'm 100% heterosexual, but Ryan Renold's physique in Blade Trinity made me sit up and take notice. First time (maybe with the exception of Brad Pitt in Fight Club) I've actually looked at a guys body and thought, "that's how I want my body to be". To my credit I have put in a fair amount of dedication at the gym and now my body has gone from being nondescript to athletic, but I want to be more muscular. Two things stand in my way:
1) I'm genetically tall and slender
2) I simply don't have the time it takes to dedicate to having a body like RR. I have a 9-6 job and a wife.
I'll just try and make the most of what God gave.

In terms of female bodies, I can't go past Keeley Hazell, but she's a bit of a genetic freak for having boobs like that on such a slender torso. I'm a bit of a boob man; my last three women were G,E and DD cups, however they also had a bit of weight on them. It's all good. The extra padding comes in handy at times.

Disgusted is worse. If there's one thing I've learned it's that it's really easy to fake modesty.
