Oh, yeah I forgot Dracula could go out in the sun.
Okay, edit to my previous post. Since when could they go out in direct sunlight without being harmed or lose their powers.
Yeah, vampires are supposed to burn or hurt, not get "glitter powers". I always imagine the scene from "Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust" where the one vampire gets out of the carriage in order to try and save the girl he loves and is burning in agony to try and save her. Now that was cool, none of this glittery Twilight crap.

you should read Edgar Alan Poe
Yes. Yes you should. ^^
Did they ever explained why he "sparkled" and supposedly wasn't gay?

Oh, and I do read Edgar Alan Poe. I have a 4 inch thick book of his that contains all of his work.

I hear a book called Patient Zero is rather good. Apparently its a zombie novel told in a 24 (the show) sort of style. Also for fans of the show, The Torchwood books are good fun.

I'd have to recomend The Dark Tower series by Stephen King or, if you're really into scifi, the Sprawl Trilogy by William Gibson

I love the Sookie Stackhouse series. Some good shit there.

Also anything by Cormac McCarthy is really good.

As far as i'm concerned, everyone in the world should read American Gods by Neil Gaiman. It's easily my favourite book of all time.

the Dexter Series - Jeff Lindsay
Seconded, so very much seconded.

If you like suspenseful books, then you should read some of Dan Brown's books. They're all pretty similar in concept, but they are all very good.
Well, at least if you don't mind what some might consider heresy...

How about the Otherland serie (1996)? It's not quite a-class literature... More the contrary, but it has an interesting base concept.

In the future (half a century or something) the internet has become some kind of higly interactive Virtual Reality network, manifested as a sort of metropolis, with buildings representing sites. Wealthy peoply can connect neurologicaly (MMOs have never been so addicting), whilst the people with not so swollen wallets use VR-goggels. Ofcourse the poo hits the servers and things go wrong, but in small ways, so that the regular populace doesn't notice it.

If I try to say anything more, I'll probably be making some severe spoilers.

Shogun
Tai Pan
Noble House
Gai Jin
Whirlwind

All by James Clavell. A must read for all lovers of historical fiction. Shogun takes place in feudal Japan; Gai Jin in colonial Japan; Tai Pan and Noble House deal with the growth and development of the island of Hong Kong; Whirlwind is set in 1979 Iran. They are all pretty thick, and sometimes you have to turn back to check and make sure you are/are not in a flashback, but the plot twists, character depth and development, and intricate point and counterpoint between rivals make them 5 of the ultimate pieces of historical fiction.

Okay, so I just finished reading Watchmen for the 20th fucking time and I realized, I need some new books.

So, what should I do other than turn to my fellow Escapists?

What would you guys recommend for me. I'm heading out to Books A Million within the next few days, so really anything would be appreciated.

I tend to like a lot of graphic novels. I have almost all of Alan Moore's and Frank Miller's work with the exception of The Killing Joke which is on my list to get. I also love horror stories, murder mysteries, suspense, and psychological themed books.

So help me out!!

EDIT: Oh, yeah, this might help. I also like Scifi themes
Balc Jewels Trilogy. Best book I ever read.
