Books that need to be made into movies

I would LOVE to see a DECENT move based on Dune. The David Lynch version sucked worse than anything that has ever sucked before. It sucked worse than a new millennium George Lucas film.

The TV version a few years back was bad, but only because it made no sense to anyone who didn't already know the story.

I second third the Artemis Fowl suggestion. Last I heard, they were planning to make one, with Jason Statham as Butler, but it's in developmental hell. Get on with it, Hollywood!

I got these on audio book and they are awesome, I would love to see them made into movies.

We actually get to see a type of monster in each of these stories since alot of Lovecrafts stuff works on people filling in the blanks and would love to see the corpse city of R'lyeh on the big screen.

Who would you want to direct these though? Peter Jackson comes to my mind as an obvious choice.

It's pretty much a modern rendition Shadow over Innsmouth set in Spain.

In my opinion, it's a pretty good horror film, one of my favourites anyway.

Brian Lumley's Necroscope and Al Ewings I, Zombie could be quite a good films, if faithfully reproduced, or even better as a BBC sci-fi series, a la Quatermass.

I think The Belgariad and Mallorean - or even the Elenium and the Tamuli - by Eddings would make awesome movies, if executed properly. Anyone else here crossing their fingers for the supposed Elfquest movie they're making? I also think that The Poison Elves series (not sure if I got ninja'd on this or not) would make a really REALLY good movie. Hell, even one or two stories, like the one of Six-Tell-Amlah, would be pretty rad.

Aye, Really getting stick and tired waiting for the Dark tower series to be made into a Movie. Christian Bale as Roland would be a terrible choice. Not sure how they would do it though with Jake, There are 7 books and it is likely the actor who played Jake would be well to old by the last films etc.

Also think Eyes of The dragon would be another good Stephan King book to make into a movie, or a Childrens animated film or something like that.

The Dome is being made into a HBO series which i' am also looking forward to.

The enemy - Charlie Higson Great book wouldmake a great film IF they followed the book and didn't change it at all.

The Hunger Games would make a good movie.

Not a whole lot else, since many of the books I like probably would be butchered with a movie version. Even The Hunger Games has a good chance of being terrible.
