There were some things wrong with Borderlands but despite its modest shortcomings I loved the shit out of it and I can't wait for the sequel.

By the way, Yahtzee's comment about the game's "needlessly good writing" made me laugh, it was very true. The writing was top-notch, especially for this type of game. Patricia Tannis in particular was hilarious.

Yeah, I enjoyed it and want more. Bring it on.

Personally, I'm saving my loot cravings for Torchlight 2.
Do you play Torchlight?
I used to. Only so much you can do in a single-player dungeon crawler before it goes stale. Now I'm waiting for Torchlight 2.

Liked the first game and loved the more story heavy dlc, it appears they've fixed the few minor issues I had with the first game so I'm definitely looking forward to this.

The PC version is confirmed to use Steamworks even if you buy it hardcopy. I think it's coming to Steam.

I just found that the ultimate collector's edition is sold out in my city :(

However, I'll still be getting the regular collector's edition, with the bonus character class and everything! So. Excited.

Apart from being a bit too hard solo I really loved Borderlands. Looking forward to the sequel and hope they don't mess things up too much!
Pondering to get the pre-order version just for the new class that's coming. Feels like Day One DLC though. Don't like that!

I was bored by Borderlands until I played it co-op. Just running around shooting stuff with friends was great. Looking for more of the same in BL2, but a better story would be good too.

If they keep all the promises they've made thus far, I'll buy it day one, no problem. (I don't pre order though, lot's of bad luck there).

I'll definately be buying it.

Steam tells me I sank 510 hours into Borderlands, the vast majority of it in co-op. The only pain was that, because co-op was really sensitive to where in the various quests each character was, and because I played in various 4 player teams permed from a group of 7 of us, I was running about 5 characters at the same time.

And I'm really hyped up about TL2 as well.

Yeah, that was a major killing point for me with Diablo 3, such that I'm not buying it.

OT: Borderlands 2 is looking pretty schmexy at this point, but I'm also getting the Ratchet and Clank HD trilogy, so there goes a few months of my life, so I'm not sure I'll be picking it up straight away.

Borderlands is the worst game I've ever put more than 100 or so hours into. It's one saving grace is local multiplayer. Even a POS boring brownshooter like Borderlands can be good with friends (not just online friends, but the real kind.) Its actually good if played with friends (better with booze.) If BL2 omits local multiplayer... It won't even be getting a first look from me.

The only reason I stopped playing Borderlands 1 was because I couldn't find any better loot. After many hours of playing, I had an awesome poison shotgun. Which is great, but nothing better came along, which made it not worth doing anymore for me.

They need to work on the loot distribution a bit, so that it doesn't just fall off to useless grind.

I've already preordered The Ultimate Loot Chest. The loot was what kept me going. However the system for the loot needs to be modified slightly to be like Diablo's- Seperate loot for each player.

Definitely looking forward to it. While the first Borderlands wasn't anything revolutionary, I thought it was a lot of fun and I enjoyed the humour in it. What made it best for me was that I only played through it with my best friend. I guess if you take away the co-op element of it, I'd be less thrilled but I know that we're both going to be lining up excitedly to get BL2 so... yay!

I never pre-order but I pre-ordered that.
I was going to order the Loot Chest edition but they were sold out...of the pre-order. I didn't know that happened. Like I said, I never pre-order but isn't that what a pre-order is for: to see how many they need to order for the customers?

All the people I play with know how to share, so while the occasional debate popped up we never felt too annoyed by the loot distribution.

I've never touched the Torchlight series, Diablo 2's point/click interface bored me to tears so all my friends told me not to bother.

That does take it to a new level doesn't it. More games need split screen.
I'm not sure about this but I think that even the PC version of BL2 will have split screen.

Depends.

Do you want the PC version? That uses Steamworks, and Steam has a lot less issues with offline mode recently.
Console? Besides no DRM on consoles (yet), there's split-screen multiplayer.

Does that answer your question?
