Darh Nihilus in Kotor 2. I just wish they had made more effort in fleshing his character out and giving him more than two scenes in the game considering how they all talk about him like his a god of death.
Yes, definitely. It's almost like all the bosses are supposed to be tragic in that game. It's not that you want to kill them-it's that you're forced to.

Shodan of System Shock 2. She's always interesting to listen to and her insults are more of a "raawr" kind than really hurting or frightening.
I love SHODAN, but she's far too much of a threat to let live. I look at her as more of a worthy adversary, she should have respected the "insect" a little more. If they ever make a sequel, the morality system should be Metal vs. Meat, and your character development should proceed accordingly. Good vs. Bad morality scales are stale anyway, what ever happened to Lawful vs. Chaotic?

The Rakni Queen on the other hand...I could never kill her. Not that I like the bugs, but she didn't deserve to die like that. I would have rather let her loose and fought her. Extinction shouldn't be done with the push of a button, it should be earned. And having read Ender's Game had something to do with it too.
I just saved her.
Well, yeah, I always had to save her too, but why's there no option to just walk away? The real challenge of Mass Effect isn't Insane mode, it's trying to end the game as neutral.

...Loghain, sure he betrayed Cailan and by choosing to make him a warden Alistair quits, so he had to die for my guy.

But the fact everything he did was part of a paranoid and twisted plan to protect Fereldan from Orlais rather than his own personal goals. When you consider evidence from Return to Ostager that Cailan was possibly cheating on Anora with the Empress of Orlais in an attempt to secure some sort of alliance/heir, this is a huge betrayal to both a patriot/national hero and father in law.

Throwing in the fact he didn't know why Gray Wardens are necessary to end a blight and thought they were just an vestigial institution trying to carve some power out of the nation as well.

I could also feel his frustration with Lord Howe and how he only had sycophantic supporters rather than the great houses he thought he deserved.

But it was his last words, about daughter never truly growing up, before I executed him that made me feel sad.

I saw his character and mine as being very similar people, the necessary evil to the rightous king (Maric, Alistair), people forced to make crap decisions because no one else will or can.
Woah hold on, Calin was in a relationship with the Emporess of Orlais? I thought they were negotiating an alliance and that made Loghain angry.
Return to Ostagar the DLC, heavily implies that had a relationship, a personal letter from the Empress written in an informal and forward manner, another from I think Arl Eamon suggesting he finds a source for a new heir.

But yeah even without that, a legion of chevaliers, being any where between 1000-6000 men and most likely knights from the name, is also a big possible threat in the future.
Well since he's dead we might never know the truth, although they do have an expansion coming on march 13th and they're planning a dragon age 2, so maybe we will know the truth.

The king of shadows in nwn2 -he was to cool to enjoy killing,
Aldaris and Arcturas in Starcraft :broodwar because it was obvious you were being tricked into killing them, and the final boss in prototype because I made him an orphan earlier in the game

Big Bob-omb in Super Mario 64. He was very polite and honorable, it is the only time I've felt pangs of regret for defeating a boss.

In "The Pitt" in Fallout 3, I felt bad about killing the leader of the slavers. Because he was an okay guy, but he wanted to achieve his goals through slavery, which wasn't okay.
yeah same here....

Cliff (Dead Rising) the only legit psycho...I wanted him as a helper..., Big Smoke (GTA: SA) As stated before, he was CJ's homie, but was currupted, Sniper Wolf (MGS0 She was the one sane FOXHOUND member, and Otacon loved her, The Boss (MGS 3) see other posts as to why-well lets just say everyone in the MGS series, Most of the dudes in no more heros, and most of the guys in the god of war series (I just love the greek myths).

GLaDOS, I never meant to break her heart...
Definitely the only boss I've ever not wanted to kill.

I just wanted to spend all day hanging out with her and some funny talking orbs but then she started flooding the enrichment center with deadly neurotoxins. =(
