BRINK and it's free running gameplay

As several others have said this has loads of potential but the guns looked rather bland and either the hit detection is bad or your character is a living tank judging from that SMG gameplay. The character customization looks good but the idea of the whole game being co-op will go like Borderlands it sounds good but it will be easy to hack. Also if that SMARTS system isn't perfect the whole game well be wasted, plus you seem to bounce a lot when you walk which is just annoying.

I say the game looks like MAG because of that one trailer where there is a ton of guys shooting at each other. Also, the animation looks like MAG's

An FPS trailer with a lot of dudes shooting at each other made you think of MAG... Hello face. Meet palm.

OT: I actually really like the way this game is looking. Looks like it could be a hit. I probably won't get it first day (which is what I usually do for games I'm interested in) but I instead I'll wait for a few reviews. Test the waters so to speak.

Hmm hadn't heard of it till now and did a real quick bit of research on it. I loved Mirror's Edge so I'll have to check this out. It...will...be AWESOME I hope. Though I agree with the other gripes. Maybe it'd be sweet to play in you know...interesting levels. However if the free running is well implemented I will check this out.

it looks like gamers first shooter, a wheel telling you what to do and were to go, seems a little "give me your hand while I lead you through this game".

Is it just me or are the only games coming out shooters and RPG's? There seems like a large influx of them lately.

It's developed by ID Software, Splash Damage, and Bethesda. What's not to like? Yes, I am a bit of a fanboy, I also love post-apocalyptic worlds, and free-running games.

I think it'll flop. The reason Mirror's Edge's parkour gameplay worked was because it focused on the parkour rather than the obviously crappy combat. Until the end of the game, but that's besides the point.

The running in Mirror's Edge was fun because it used a revolutionary control scheme that really made you feel like you were in control. Brink uses one button for its Free Running.

So, yeah, Brink is going to be a bland, generic shooter with one button that will let you climb on things and slide. Fun.

I think it looks pretty boring. It's like it's trying to be borderlands and mirrors edge combined with tactical gameplay. It's just so "ugh" you know? We've seen these trashy, rustic environments. We've seen these "ultra tough commandos" and we've seen free running all before. It looks like another shooter dripping with more testosterone than sense - to me it's already dead.
