A majority of equipment available in World of Warcraft has to be modeled for 8, no wait 10, no wait now 12 races, each of which is free to select their gender, meaning every model of equipment has to be able to fit 24 different bodies. Even if WoW's graphics aren't as stellar as Brinks, you can't use equipment fitting as an excuse for why female models couldn't have been added in.

I planned on completely ignoring this game anyways but that sucks for the ladies who want to play.

Now spend a few seconds thinking of a girl that big. Sure they exist. Does anybody want to play as that?

Fem!Heavy is credit to thread. Srsly, people, it's like 2011. Women are allowed to have muscles.
None of them look like female characters. You dont understand character design. Theyre effectively drag queens. Men with shabby faux female features.
That was the result of 3 seconds in google. Google "female mma" or "female deadlifter" if you want more realistic examples.
What's your point? Because mine applies to Brink. You cant put blush and pigtails on a character and call it a "muscly female", because it's not that simple. That's not designing a character, that's designing an avatar.

Female MMA? Hahaha. Ohh wow. I'll check that out right after I've bought season tickets to the WNBA.

It sounds like your imagination is limited.
Still, the first thing I would think if I say a girl that big is "Daaaaaaaaaaaaamn" or "Kill that thing with fire!"

adding in females on top of this formula makes this more complicated.

imagine a female heavy :S that doesnt really fit.
True on the 1st part, but on the second part I think the Wonder Woman of"Justice League:The New Frontier" would like a word.
As would Giganta

Oh,I almost forgot about Halo Legends"The Babysitter"
Spoiler Alert: This Spartan is a Woman.

I don't hate them for not having female avatars but I always feel it's a missed opportunity when anyone leaves out the gender option when creating a Avatar.(Unless the species doesn't have male/female in their universe or are never combatants.)

I'd prefer to see one full assed customization as compared to two half assed ones.
That's something they actually stated I think.

OT: Why are people complaining about this? Customization will actually be customization and not just "Choose your shade of brown", the gameplay looks promising and seem to try to create a new dynamic multiplayer experience based all around on teamwork, and people complain because they can't be girls? Most games doesn't even offer you half of what Brink will give us for customization! Hell, most games don't offer us the possibillity to be girls, do they get complaints about it? Because Brink offers more customization, it should automaticaly feature female characters? What a petty thing to pick on!

Mens' muscles can reach higher bulk than womens'. That's just a fact.
It is a fact that people cannot fly. It is a fact that magic does not exist in the real world, at least not in the flashy sense we tend to think about. It is a fact that faster than light travel cannot exist for anything that has mass.

None of these facts apply to fiction. Why should "females don't have as much muscle as men"?

Sorry but which part of any of those is "Female Heavy"? You're just trying to make this a "Post your favorite female character" thread.

Did Halo have female charecters in IT'S multiplayer? What about Section 8? I don't know why Brink is the upset. Of course, it is a little more jaring since there isn't power armor for everyone. Despite Spartans in Multiplayer looking male, it doesn't take much to imigine one as a girl.
Uh...yes they did. Well, Halo 3 was half assed with just female groans, but Reach had more official female spartans.
WHen you take steps forward, it is unwise to take steps back, in terms of innovation anyways.
A game about customization is being foolish to not include female models. It is just laziness.
more like a company that didn't have the time or money to do it.

It was either a fully robust male system or a downgraded system for both sexes, oh and probably worse animations, since they'd need to take time to animate both genders.

Any game that offers even the most basic of character customization options, but does not include the option to select your gender, is immediately ignored by me. That's why I have not and will not play the Gothic series.
I agree. Gender is a pretty big thing to ignore when it comes to character customization.
Both of these.

Why are you pushing so hard for a muscly woman chracter? I really don't get it. You guys ruined the game of War too. With your nurses hats, stethoscopes and injured teddy bear soldiers. Piss off!

The reason I don't care would be because you play in first person anyways. When I played Borderlands, I would totally forget that I was playing a girl until Lilith actually spoke, though it matters so little since you barely ever see your own avatar.

And really, if there was a game that only allowed female characters, I doubt many people would raise an issue.

The only downside would be that you don't get to shoot any women, but that's not a big deal.

Take one look at brinks style... it does not in any way appeal to women..

Pardon me if this may sounds racist but it appeals more to... *aheum* "Gangsters"

I cant really see too many females wanting to play this game.
