I do kinda agree with OP

i mean we do get shown in games a bit but compared to America we are ignored a bit, even in WW2 games generally ther europeans are ignored in favour for American apple pie and freedom and whatnot

also to the people mentioning Warhammer, well ofcourse its mostly british accents it is after all british invention

but as someone said about Killzone, theres no excuse for that, i mean the country the main country that stood against the nazis from 1939-1945 gets shown as nazis and we are expected to take that, if they showed a game where we were fighting space soviets with american accents thered be hell to pay

Some locations in the Shadow Hearts series was based in the UK. Also, the prequel to the series Kodelka was based in Wales.

Alice madness returns, and the upcoming Devil May Cry, and Ninja Gaiden games will be based in the UK.

To all of you going on about all the British games out there...
Let's count the Americans pile shall we?
And yes Australia, you get it tougher, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN OTHER PEOPLE CAN'T COMPLAIN.
For you may get beaten more, but we all still get beaten.

In fact, the Warhammer 40k universe is entirely made up of british accents. For example, the Orks are a race of green cockney chavs.

Aren't you forgetting a small detail called the USSR..?

Anyway, Scolar Visari, the leader of the Helghast, has an american accent. And his lieutenants are voiced by the ball-smashingly-brilliant Malcolm McDowell and Sean Pertwee, so I'm really, really glad they've got a British accent, as opposed to whatever generic guys voice the ISA, as it helps giving them a menacing personality. Shit, I'd be honored, not offended.

Except for the Tau, a race entirely voiced by Hikaru Sulu.

We all need individual identities as a country, which is why it annoys me when i say i'm from britain and people go 'Oh, you mean europe?'
Well, Britain does happen to be part of Europe. Also, while I can see why that'd be annoying, can you, off the top of your head, list the names and cultural features of every nation in Europe? If not, how can you expect people living on another continent to do so?
Live in Australia.

(Is Iceland in Europe)

France
Spain
Portugal
Italy
Greece
Germany
Holland/Nederlands
Sweden

Romania
Hungary
Czech Republic
Slovakia

and with these crappy release dates we get it always feels like we're just being lumped in with 'the rest of the world'. Hardly any individuality.
Oh man, how dare they not put The Great Britannia on the pedestal that she deserves?!
This is outrageous!

Well i'm sorry, but you seemed to have taken my words and twisted them into what you wanted to see.

Australia features in video games as either crocodile dundee rip offs or....that's it.

Britain is usually lumped in I agree but you guys do get easily the best character in Reach, Jorge. I'd take that.
Jorge is Hungarian

Actually we generally can, most people living here can name a good number of European countries and associated addenda (language, capital, head of state, etc.)
A good number, yes, but there will still be a number that are forgotten. You aren't going to remember everyone, there's no particular reason why those islands off the coast of France should be amongst those that are.

You can argue for more nations that aren't the US to included in games, but to ask why your country isn't included without worrying about the hundreds of others that aren't seems rather hypocritical. Excluding things such as historical games, when the nation in question played a significant part.
I've got a pretty damn good reason: my country had a globe-spanning empire and was the most powerful on earth for hundreds of years, and theirs wasn't.
And now you're a third-rate world power struggling to keep its place as at all relevant on the global stage and can't even stand up to Gandhi. What's your point?
We are? Militarily, Gadaffi is no more of a problem for the UK than he is for the US.
Gandhi=/=Gadaffi
Wait, what? They aren't the same person? You sure?

There just aren't that many British game companies, a situation not likely to change until our government gets its head out of its arse and realises that the game market is MASSIVE.

Yes. I checked.
Easy to tell apart. One has sunglasses, the other just plain glasses.
Although...Has anyone ever seen them in the same place at the same time? It's not that hard to rewrite the Wikipedia pages, after all.

A harder challenge would be some Australian characters. With the exception of Under a Steel Sky (which was set in a future, distopian Australia where everyone speaks with an American accent), there aren't many other games set in Australia, or featuring Australians.
Miranda Lawson in Mass Effect 2.

Ozzie Mandrill from one of the Monkey Island games.

And... how could you possibly forget Crash Bandicoot??

So what you're saying is that when super-powerful Ghaddafi takes off his cape and puts on his glasses, he becomes mild-mannered Ghandi?

Daniel, the protagonist of Amnesia: The Dark Descent is English.

I think Professor Layton might be as well (although you could just as easily argue he exists in another universe).

Lara Croft is British, Cammy and Birdie from Street Fighter, the protagonist of No One Lives Forever was British, Everyone in GTA: London 1969...

There were Aussies in Army of T.W.O. the 40th Day. They even wore Akubras!

I even heard that using Ghandi's popular image in india, he managed to get the ingredients for a moon laser death cannon!

this threads gone a bit off the rails...

Also what about Chloe Frazer, the Aussie love interest from Uncharted 2?
