You can actually ask Fawkes to go into the chamber and do it, but then he says something like "We all have our destiny in life, and I would not rob you of yours." Still doesn't really make sense, I agree.

So does anybody have a definite release date for Broken Steel yet?? I can't wait! To be honest more because they will raise the level cap than for the actual new content, I want more perks and skill points! I still have plenty of places to explore in the regular game.
Response to the above spoilered section:

Interesting. I suppose they didn't offer a "OK Fawkes, but it's not really my destiny in life to die from radiation poisoning, now get in that chamber!". Maybe I'll try and send Charon in when I get to that point. Though I can't imagine anything different happening there.

I've not got around to getting The Pitt yet, but from what I've heard it's pretty good, much better than Operation Anchorage. But I am really excited about the Broken Steel DLC, ever since I was told that there was going to be three lots of DLC I have been looking forward to the final one.
Did I hear that they are planning more after that or something?

I have bought the past two DLCs for Fallout 3. I liked OA but it seemed to me it got sorta old preaty quick so it wasn't all that fun the 2nd or 3rd time through. But for the Pitt I think they could have done alot more for the Pitt as i felt the main quest was way to short. Now don't get me wrong i liked the Pitt and the whole atmosphere it built on me but after it was beaten there wasn't a wole lot to do.Yes you can go back but theres not a whole lot to do aside from the steel mill and something that absolutely killed me was once the workers were all free they acted almost exactly the same! I understand there working in hopes to turn around their fair city but it just ticked me off when i first reentered the Pitt and walked up to a "Slave" and i expected some praise after all i did just free their whole society and all they had for me was a "Shhh they might see us." or a "Go away." So as for me I'm definitly going to have to wait and see some reviews for this one.

And my response to that:

hehe, no, you can't say that, even though it's of course what everybody's thinking. I looked around a bit on the Internets, you can't send any another companion you might have with you in either. Kind of lame. I'm glad they're changing the ending in Broken Steel!

We all remember the lapse in the logic that was the final decision of the game - maybe this time they will let us send our radiation immune sidekick into the nasty irradiated test chamber. Here's hoping.

Fawkes says that because...
He is supposedly in the faith of Zen Buddism, which has been speculated as the only way to retain your human personaily after being infected with FEV, and becomming a Super Mutant. Not only is the theory proven by Fawkes now an again uttering such phrases like "There is peace in mindfulness", but another friendly Super Mutant also says such things as "wonderful moon", another reference to Zen Buddism. It actually comes directly from a verse in the relgion, when a theif tries to steal from a man named Ryokan who has nothing to be theived, so gives him his clothes so the man doesn't have wasted trip. It then reads The thief was bewildered. He took the clothes and slunk away. Ryoken sat naked, watching the moon. ?Poor fellow,? he mused, ?I wish I could have given him this beautiful moon.?

Note, Uncle Leo only quotes the "wonderful moon" if the player character tries to rob in, after which he gives him a set of clothes as a "gift".

The last of the three Fallout3 DLC's is just a couple weeks from release.
in this new donwload able part of the game you fight alongside with the Brotherhood of steel against the remaining Enclave soliders in the capitol wasteland. yes boys and girls this DLC takes place after the mainquest has ended! the represenative from bethesa said they might alter the main quest line. I find that perfect becouse frankly, the last quest ruined the whole bloody game. anyway what expectations do you guys have for this final DLC for the capiol wasteland? will it be good? will it suck? did you like The Pitt and Operation: Anchorage? are you going to buy it? will the altering of the Main questline be an improvment?
god lets hope so!

I have high expectations. The Pitt was a giant step above Operation: Anchorage, in that it did not require mods to be tolerated.

One thing that I wish they would fix is V.A.T.S. Their last patch completely broke all V.A.T.S.-related perks that increased hit percentage, as well as targeting thrown grenades or fired missiles.

Bah, i'll wait until they release all the DLC on a disc, i've had enough of buying shit off the Internet tbh, and i'm not touching GFWL even with a 100m pole.
What's GFWL?
It's concentrated devil. Not as concentrated as RealPlayer or Apple Software Update, but it's getting there. Microsoft calls it Games For Windows Live.

One more thing: I have a theory that Charon refused to enter the Rotunda in the player's place because the intense radiation would turn him feral. Also, he tells the player that his contract only covers combat.

I have a question about the current DLC for Fallout 3. Shouldn't it be free those people who have a PC?

I stopped playing once I hit level 20. I figured if Broken Steel was going to be coming out and raising the cap to 30, I might as well save a few quests to count towards that.

Once Broken Steel is out, I plan on finishing the game! I enjoyed Operation: Anchorage for what it was, and I haven't played the Pitt yet, but I've enjoyed Fallout 3 so far, so I don't expect that to change regardless of how good (or bad) Broken Steel is...

What makes you say that?
Why should Xbox users have to pay but PC users don't?

Because PC gamers shouldn't have to pay for this kind of thing?

I'll buy it, if for no other reason then being able to finish the main quest and then being free to run about doing what I like.

Nor should Xbox users, we have to pay for Live as it is.
Until they make Live free, which I don't think they have any plans to, they are right to charge PC users for it in my eyes.

Well, neither should have to pay. It's the sort of thing people should offer for free. Why did they even make the awful mistake of going with Games For Windows? Trying to buy anything with it is so difficult most reasonable people will give up.
