So my question to you, Brony chums, is whether you feel ashamed of your hobby or whether you revel in it? Do you discuss it openly with family and friends or do you restrict your pony-loving to forums or other forms of online interaction? Would you walk down the street in a Pinkie Pie t-shirt (I admit, I had to look the name up) or do you keep your preference a secret? Whichever way you answer, I'd like to ask why - if you feel safe publicaly admitting your tastes, do you ever face harassment for it? If you keep it as a dirty little secret, why? Do you think other people would look down on you?
Nope, not at all. At hearing about the new MLP, I at first was hesitant to even watch it, for I remember the painful memories of that of the first generation. I judge the show for the previous generations rather than for what it was at first. But once I started watching the show, I was hooked and proud to become a brony.
I openly discuss it with my friends and family, but obviously if they didn't want to hear anything about it, I'd drop the issue and continued on with other topics we may want to share. And I would wear a Pinkie Pie shirt, though obviously I'd rather have Rainbow Dash on it instead {Heh he, RD best pony}. I don't mind people knowing what I like and love, but the people that I get annoyed or frustrated with are the people who take shots at us for liking a show.
I rarely ever find harassment from liking something that is considered a kid show, though it's fairly believed that girls are
allowed to like shows that are meant for little kids. But there were people who were completely against bronies due to misled information, and are still good friends of mine who are even considering to watch it, if only to see what the hay was it all about, when once they wanted to set bronies and their ponies on fire.
Love and tolerance, love and tolerance. That's my motto.
