So in typical Bungie fashion, they launch with a video documentary and give us the first glimpse of their first new game since 2010.

What we actually know about it is limited, but despite that, I think it looks really cool. I respect Bungie as a developer, and I'm glad to see their new game looks to have promise.

So fellow Escapists, what are your thoughts? What do you want to see out of it? Do you even care?

WANT! WANT! WANT!

For me Bungie has made pretty much my favorite games ever, I have countless fond memories of playing the Halo series and how well they've treated the community over the years. That video gave me the same feelings I got when seeing Halo 3, I love that they are trying something new and building up a new universe as I know they can do such things so well.

I am more than prepared to throw my cash at them, I consider them one of the safest investments out there for quality games.

Edit: First trailer in a long time thats got me actually buzzed about a game, thats the kind of power Bungie has over me.

Wait and see. It looks vaguely like a cross between Fallout and Halo so far which is...some kind of start of describing it. Can't really say much else.

Looking good. Looking GREAT. LOOKING FANTASTIC! I'm sensing a lot of hype around this, but I think Bungie can pull it off.

Edit: Oh lord please let it have a PC port. A good one.

I can't decide whether I am excited or not. On one hand, knowing Bungie it will be great. On the other, the story tidbtis they've released so far look kind of stupid and the artwork details along with the few seconds of gameplay reminds me a lot of KotR.

I'll wait for them to release more info and stuff before forming an opinion.

I'm gonna have to agree. I trust Bungie for more than just Halo. They care about their community so much more than most developers that they're gonna find a way to give us the best quality product they can.

I love how mysterious this trailer is too. Is it a linear shooter that changes based on what class you play? An open ended FPS RPG? A strictly multiplayer game where you join one of the warring factions?

Will it be like Halo? Borderlands? Fallout? Who knows. Though it'll probably be most like Halo. And that isn't a bad thing.

This is me just wildly guessing, but I thought I saw a cursor tooling around what looked like an in-game menu, so don't count a PC port out.

Right now the offical website has only a preorder for 360 and playstation up but this might change, normally Bungie are quite good when it comes to answering community questions so over the next few days they likely say for certain.

Sounds pretty generic, from a story standpoint anyways . I'm all for support new IPs , hell i might get this SOLEY because it's a new IP . I'm tired of sequels abd reboots and rehashes . But i would KILL for a new idea . Something original . Different . SURPRISING .

Oh good, at least I'm not the only one who immediately thought that the art was very much like KotR. Sand people, smuggler-type looking people, very starwars-ian balconies etc etc.

My response is "meh". First person isn't really suited to an MMO in my opinion.

Very good first impression from the trailer I must say.........until I saw the publisher is Activision..........
Haaaaa........I don't like this at all....
We saw already in the past what Activision is able to do to "steal" extra money from us in the past [thankfully not from me].....

I will keep an eye to this game and I hope for the best. I don't want Activision to make the game that you need pay extra cash to enjoy the whole experience...

The Escapist is bound to cover this in an official capacity soon I'm sure, but let's just get one thing out in the open first and foremost:

Destiny will require an internet connection to work

That is, unless things have changed within the past four days. That's an internet connection for everything, even single player games. It's not a big deal for most of us, but it will be for a few.

Well they got a very interesting and mysterious concept, but the moment it got to gameplay it was 100% Halo... I wonder if it didn't just end up as another one of those.

But anyway it's FPS for non-PC platforms ergo I don't care.

There is no single player, didn't they already admit it was a cross between an MMO and FPS.

BTW the website is up now.
