I liked Call of Duty 4, but I though MW2 was a horrible game. Nothing was changed except you got some new guns that were all crap. All I have to do is use the Scar and I triple my K/D ratio for the game. I'm pretty much done with the entire series by now.

MW2 and Battlefield are connected only in concept (sort of) as far as I know, don't really understand how you made that choice. (Unless of course you mean they're sort of the same and you're getting sick of playing the same game with different 12 year old bitches)
Well... my intro to FPS's (not counting Doom played decades ago! :p ) was Planetside. After the pops dropped too low, and the hackers got too brave I gave up on that.

Played several of the CoD's (up to 4 - was bored of the endless WWII, so I didn't go to 5, and refused to get MW2). Also played some of the Battlefields ('cause it's a different experience). BF2, BF2142 etc. Never really got into BFBC. Got BFBC2, and was extremely disappointed - especially with EA/DICE's mishandling of the game - so mostly given up on BF as well.

Hoping SOE will do a better job with Planetside 2. There aren't really any other good large-scale conflict games out there. Too much console and porting going on. It's almost impossible to find a game with more than 20 people per side. Let alone the 133 / side times 3 sides that you used to get in Planetside!

Thats right before call of duty 7 is released another call of duty game is announced, but unexpectedly it will not be made by Infinity Ward the creators who made it globally renowned, with Call of Duty; Call of Duty 2 and call of duty Modern Warefare(2), as one of the greatest First person shooter franchises of all time but by a company that has never developed a game before, Sledgehammer games.

I don't know about anybody else but call of duty is 100% dead to me now, I used to love Call of Duty and Infinity ward, I thought they could do no wrong but it seems that they have fallen apart completely. Are we going to get to the stage where several subsidiaries of Activision are going to be queing up to develop the next call of duty. Without IW the next games are going to seem like a joke. If the series ended at Call of duty 4 then that would be acceptable and everyone could move on LIKE EVERY OTHER GAME FRANCHISE but Call of Duty is just to big of a money maker for Activision to let go of it.
Actually it's been known about quite a while in the Infinity Wars vs. Activision they talk about it.

I didn't mind COD:WAW, but that's only because it was 4, in WWII. MW2 killed it for me, but it killed IW too, so I'm going to get the next one, in hopes that it will be decent.

Final Fantasy. Pokémon. Mario. Sonic. Command and Conquer. Resident evil.

Seriously, everyone makes this mistake. There are /plenty/ of game franchises that have just as many, if not more games as COD.

Silly XD

The only way cod will bring something new to the table is they that it back a few thousand years

Call of Duty: Stone age

It would be fun to chuck a rock at someones head across the map.
I'd play it.

Call of Duty - 2003
Call of Duty: United Offensive - 2004
Call of Duty 2 - 2005
Call of Duty 3 - 2006
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - 2007
Call of Duty: World at War - 2008
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - 2009
Call of Duty: Black Ops - 2010
Call of Duty 8 - 2011

I hate to tell you, but Call of Duty has been a shallow cash-in since day one.

Ah yes, the infamous 3rd developer, they popped up a few months ago during the Activion vs. IW debacle and then disappeared again...

Should be interesting to see what they do - who knows? Maybe they'll give the series some much-needed new blood. Until I see what they're work results in, I aint going to write them off.

I mean, look at Rock Steady studios; nobody ever heard of them before Arkham Asylum, and now they're one of the most respected developers around!
I agree with you, If nothing else, this will encourage the evolution of call of duty, and as long as treyarchs there cod will always live.

I honestly don't care for CoD anymore mostly when I played the MW2 online for the first time and saw just how broken it was, I wish it stopped at 4.

I gave up before MW2. Having seen the wreckage that is BFBC2 (for PC anyway - I understand that the console is quite good), I'm starting to move away from Battlefield.

Currently, hope rests on Planetside 2. But it's SOE. So I'm fairly sure it's a vain hope. What to do, what to do...
What exactly was wrong with BFBC2?

For my friends and I, it's honestly the best FPS out there. And we've been playing them for longer than most people here have been alive.

Isn't Infinity Ward still technically kicking around though? I know they're dead in spirit since the huge exodus of workers, but isn't there still a different group of people going by the same name?
Then it's not really the same studio is it? Chances are Activision will milk it as long as they can, relying on the popularity of the original to fuel its half-life.

You can take a dead celebrity and attach it to strings, but sooner or later people will realize it's only a decaying puppet.

I agree that CoD 8 will probably be shit and Activision is milking it's franchise. I was simply pointing out that, as an entity, Infinity Ward still technically exists regardless of who's there.

Actually I was trying to make the point that Activision is milking the Developer name. One of the things I see a lot when browsing on CoD topics is how IW is supposedly vastly superior to Treyarch. It's only natural the company would want to try and cash in on that popularity as well.
