Personally I love the idea. People need to understand that his death was well-justified due to the atrocities he has committed; who can possibly argue against this idea on the grounds that it's disrespectful or any other reasons? I would love a Castro-like level on CoD.

There have been TONNES of vietnam games.
OT: On a scale of one to ten, one being below tasteless and ten being highly tasteful, i give this idea a -1.
I really can recall any apart from Battlefield: Vietnam, and Black ops, waht are some other?

Also have any gone into detail about the soliders life, mental state and the conditions of war they suffered through? As it is what CoD games usually do well and what makes them so popular and what could also make them contraversal

Fair enough but did that have a story mode too it? Don't the Battlefeild games mainly just make multipler maps that has both sides in the battle and doesn't really have a story? I don't know since I haven't played it before

It's too soon. I'm just saying, as a New Yorker, I can name at least fifty people who would be offended to the point of protest by that.

It'd just not be cool. Sure, it sounds cool, but so many people would be offended that it would just help the argument that games are terrible trash, and at this point that's the last thing our media needs.

First, determine how long it took for jihadists to release a 911 simulator. Take that amount of time and double it. That is when it is culturally appropriate to make a simulator for going into peoples houses and killing them, their kids, their wives, and setting the place on fire. This way, we retain cultural superiority.

It would make an interesting game.Considering how flawless the operation went, (as far as we know)someone will definitely try to make it in a couple of years. But the actual attack on the compound would only be one short level considering the Navy Seals were only on the ground for 40 minuets.

This might happen, but It definitely won't come from CoD. In case you hadn't noticed, realistic warfare isn't CoD's thing.

That is however, Medal of Honor's thing, so we might be able to expect something from them. (This coming from a guy who loved the single-player of the reboot. Yes, I just said "Loved," You got a problem with that? Not the multiplayer though, just the single-player)

This idea is a shameless cash grab of a real death. It will surely incite controversy.

However unlike Six Days in Fallujah, there are some things which will make it more palatable to the audience and concerned mothers.

In this mission, no Americans were killed or injured. And the only reported non-combatant death was a woman that an Al-Qaeda operative used as a human shield.

The Battle of Fallujah on the other hand was the bloodiest battle of the Iraq War for both Americans and civilians.

Our reasons for going into Iraq is morally questionable and the results even worse. The opposition was not too hated. Bin Laden on the other hand is a figure who has caused death and pain throughout the world and is condemned and hated across the globe. Our reasons for attacking Bin Laden is justified.
This is why I was, and still am, in support of Six Days in Fallujah. People need to see the war from the soldier's side. Two quotes from Black Hawk Down express my sentiments perfectly.

"Y'know what I think? Don't really matter what I think. Once that first bullet goes past your head, politics and all that shit just goes right out the window."- Hoot

"When I go home, people ask me, "Hey Hoot, why do you do it, man? Why? You some kind of war junkie?" I won't say a goddamn word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand it's about the men next to you... and that's it. That's all it is."-Hoot

OT- I've been imagining Bin Laden's face on every OPFOR I have killed in a game since 2001. A game with his actual face in it will not make much of a difference to me.

I think this is one of those "Too soon" cases, hell call of duty just made one about vietnam, and they are so far the only ones to do it because of how controversial the war was. They would destroied by almost everyone if they did such a thing.
Battlefield Vietnam
Conflict: Vietnam
Elite Warriors: Vietnam
Gunboat
The Hell in Vietnam
Line of Sight: Vietnam
Lost Patrol
Magicka: Vietnam
Men of Valor
Missing in Action
NAM
Operation: Vietnam
Platoon
Saigon: The Final Days
SEAL Team
Shellshock 2: Blood Trails
Shellshock: Nam '67
Stealth
Strike Fighters 2:Vietnam
Tunnel Rats
Vietcong
Vietcong 2
Vietcong: Fist Alpha
Vietcong: Purple Haze
Vietnam: Ho Chi Minh Trail
Wings Over Vietnam

Sorry what?
I'm not 100% on this, but aren't some of these after BOps was released? I'm sure Magicka was, not that it affects your point so much, Naam was a long time ago, really, it's just an area few big-ticketers looked into until now, WW2 was still making shit-tons and it was still fresh and visceral at the time.

Some, read: "one". Some of those are on DOS and the Amiga broski. But yeah, there's probably still quite a few sore feelings over it. Personally, I wouldn't enjoy a game set in 'Nam. But hey, it's up to the dev.
I just picked the one I was most sure of, I really thought BF:V came after black ops, - again, does not matter, since it utterly trashed the original point regardless of whether 1 or 10 of the list came after
