I ignore it really and just carry on with my banzai charge anyway , the only multiplayer game i`ve ever found to be genuinely unfair was Battlefield 2 on the 360 i remember spawning in my first match and dying by the time i`d begun to move ,the killcam just panned out into the distance i saw a little blackish dot , stand up and move forward a bit "....Yeah this isn`t going to be much fun" to be fair i joined the servers about six months after the game came out so maybe with a bit of experience i could have done better

If something unbalances the game then it is annoying.

One Man Army + Noob Tube + Danger close is just ridiculous.

I saw two guys camp the building over A on Skid Row for an entire game with this set up. It was utterly unfair.

To me it's not about any tactics being unfair or illegal. It's just that some playstyles take away the fun for other people playing the same game. That's a big no-no for me. If nobody minds you noobtubing, fine with me, but if other people leave the game just because you're being an asshole, that's no good.

Honestly, if someone hits me with a rocket from across the battlefield, I'm gonna be upset for the death, but thinking "Damn, what a nice shot." It is impressive to see something like that.
And in class based FPSs, camping is the only option for some classes. The MG class in the DoD series, for example. If you are running around out in the open and trying to kill people like that, you are going to end the round with no kills and dozens of deaths.

It's very difficult to draw an objective line between camping, defending, sniping and baserape (AKA Spawn camping). Because I hail from PC gaming, complete with dedicated servers and admins, I'm used to having a self-correcting game population. One person starts engaging in obnoxious behaviour (MW2 example: Using a grenade launcher excessively and persistently) and refuses to desist after the majority requests they stop, they're kicked from the game. Curse you Activision and your dedicated server removals!

OT:
The camper's usual argument is "I paid for my copy of game, so I'm trying to get as much enjoyment as possible". When I go out on the road in my car, I've obviously paid for my vehicle and have insurance but that doesn't mean I can swerve violently across lanes on the motorway and do 360s in the middle of a one-way street.

Just because the people who built the motorway or one-way street haven't taken preventative measures to stop me from engaging in this specific form of behaviour, doesn't mean I should.

There's some interpretation to be done there, but I'm finished anyway. Be respectful of other players. They're no better or worse than you just because they aren't you.

Peace out.

To be fair, calling camping wrong would make every sniper in any MP game a camper and therefore bad.
Most other things i think portray an odd need for 'them' to take nothing remotely seriously.
I dont get the point.

I view no tactic unfair, unless it is a glitch, exploit, or hack. If they can execute it, and kill you with it then it isn't their fault it's yours. That being said I can understand why some people get frustrated by them.

I've been playing MW2 online a bit recently and I do get annoyed by people who get cheap kills with the RPG or by being a Knife Runner but I find that they rarely ruin a game for me. I do take issue with camping though as it just doesn't seem in spirit with the game. If you're going to play then actually play! Don't just hide in a corner.

I can forgive people for using any of these tactics if they don't start talking about how great they are for it. Of course, since this is call of duty on xbox live, I do rage assuming they start calling people out on their "Lack of skill" When they've been spending the entirety of the game using weapons that can instantly kill someone just by hitting their general vicinity. Which happens occasionally.

Also, snipers are supposed to camp so people who blame snipers for camping are pretty stupid.

EDIT: What's ganking? I've never heard that one before.

I don't complain about the person, they're being resourceful. No, my anger is at the developers and I RAGE WITH THE POWER OF A THOUSAND SUNS when they have something as blatantly unbalanced as the noobtubes in MW2.

Camping one spot in CoD or whatever isn't too bad, but spawn camping is goddamn annoying. Not 'wrong', per se, but irritating. It's still fine, because the goal of the game is to kill your enemy.

However, with WoW, a level 80 killing all the Horde around Tarren Mill is just infantile. There's nothing to be gained by doing it, except for a 12 year old boy to make his Internet penis swell with delight at all the 'inferior' players they gun down. If you've got legitimate business in the opposing faction's territory (exploration achievements, etc), then killing the lowbies you run across is to be expected (make no mistake, I do enjoy killing allies here and there, and if one spits on me or some such, I will camp the rude fuck). It's only when you spend an hour terrorizing them that you've got no life, and you're just a child.

You can't really spawn camp in COD though, if an enemy is close, you won't spawn there.

i dislike campers and i dislike akimbo weapons. i get frustrated over it, but more often than not, i just stop playing rather than getting all worked up over a video game

Camping doesn't really bother me that much. I can't stand noob-tubers though because the weapon is so over-powered. You don't have to hit the target to kill them, it's got a similay flight-time and flight-path to bullets and on top of that you carry another weapon on top of that. It's the very definition of over-powered.

And to the people that say, "Well the developers would have changed it if it was overpowered." I'm sorry did we all suddenly get transported to the land where game developers are all infallible and never make mistakes or are just blatantly wrong.

Most of the time I really don't mind the other team camping or whatever it only gets annoying when their whole team is doing it. I once played a game on Sub-base where 5 out of 6 of their team and 4 out of 6 of my team were doing Lightweight, Marathon, Commando (or variations). I actually left that lobby after the game!

EDIT: I just thought of the only gun in MW2 that I is just a cheap and annoying way to get kills: the AA12. For those of you unaware of this stupid gun it as a FULLY AUTOMATIC SHOTGUN. I do get annoyed when someone is sprinting round my base and spraying all over the place but still managing to get kills! In my opinion it is much more overpowered than the noobtubes. In one particularly bad example I once saw someone (and was killed multiple times by him/her) using Marathon, Lightweight, Commando and an AA12 extended mags. They could just through my teams base and spray until everyone was dead. They are the person who has come closest to me trying to invent a way to punch someone through the screen. If you are still reading this the rant is now over.

Boy am I glad to get that out of my system.

Short of cheating or glitching, I don't care what others do. This is war, boys! You do what you must to survive, whether it's noobtubing or camping or just playing straight.

Also, I'll be damned if the entire enemy team is in one building camping it out and I get bitched at for firing a rocket at them and killing most of them.

Also again, people who ***** at others camping out a point we're supposed to defend. I mean what's next?

"Hey, stop shooting at me when I try to kill you!"

Alot of people expressed their annoyances over noobtubing, I personally never use a noobtube (unless trying to get a full unlock) So its not part of my normal rotation. But I shall tell you a tale.

I played A knifer build for a long time, get close kinda thing. Made me good at "Twitch" aiming. One game of Domination I started off with my sniper build Berret and akimbo g18's. Highest number of kills. Two guys (both lower rank than me but I digress) began to call me a noob for using g18's.

It got to the point where one of them copyed my class to show me... failing to kill me twice. I decided fine... I will school the boy. Changed to my knifer build and proceeded to kill them again and again and again. (AA-12, P-90 and knife kills aplently)

This has gotten all too common for me now-adays. I excel at close quarters ( getting 10 kills at a spawn point wasn't camping there I ran there and was unlucky enough to be witness to a spawn rotation and wasn't killing as they spawned).

They both shut up after this. But while I am now mastering new tactics for the sake of countering others I find noob tubers always easy to deal with, snipe them, or keep moving and stay away from walls. If really deserpate I use a Blast sheild and Danger close and my own noob tube and or rpg and it works.

Does it do too much damage, no it doesn't do enough. A M-203 launcher in real will slaughter you. So count your lucky stars its not as strong as in single player.

Also another thing to do... Why oh why do people move obvious paths. And not only that blindly repeat the same path many times.

"Hi... I'm a good player but I move obvious ways"
"Hi easy kill!"

I only complain if some asshat is using the fucking One Man Army and Danger Close combination for the noobtube. It probably wasn't intended by the developer and is just plain cheap to get an infinite supply of one-shot-kill ammo that you can kill someone with just by pointing it moderately near them.

The only thing which i whine about is spawn killing really.
I keep away from the 'noob' weapons and such out of sportsmanship; but some people just deserve a rocket to the face..even if it takes you with it n__n
