My favorite quote describes Paul A. M. Dirac, and his notorious brevity:

"There is no God, and Dirac is his prophet."

"In a battle of wits, I don't want to fight against someone who is unarmed."- my boyfriend, though he probably got that from somewhere.

And, "The problem with reality is that there is no background music."- I don't remember, google it.

'Anger is a killing thing: It kills the man who angers for each rage leaves him less than he had been before' - Louis L'Amour.

Always been a quote that I found quite personal. Relates to me pretty well, as I tend to get angry very easily. Reducing my rage levels is probably gonna be one of those failed new years revolutions everyone does.

'Democracy is by far the worst type Government we have tried... Except for all the others.' Churchill, probably misquoted horribly but that's the gist of it!
Oh, he did have some awesome quotes.

I have a feeling you're going to be banned in 2 months, judging from already being on probation, and being suspended on your 10th post.

OT:

"War solves all problems, No man, No problem."~Unknown.
It was Stalin that said it, and more precisely it's "Death solves all problems, no man, no problem."

OT: "It is good fortune for the government that the people do not think."-Adolf Hitler

"In heaven all the interesting people are missing."-not sure who

"Too weird to live but much too rare to die."-Hunter S. Thompson

"God is dead!"-Frederech Nietzsche

"I like pigs. Dogs look up to us, cats look down on us but, pigs treat us as equals."-Winston Churchill

"It is better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid, than to open it and remove all doubt."-Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain)

I have an 11 page or so document of quotes so if anyone would like some more just message me.

Copied from my Last.fm page:

I have had a vision. It has been revealed to me by the secret chiefs of the world that I am sexier than Buddha and harder than Jesus. I cannot die.
- Spider Jerusalem in Transmetropolitan, by Warren Ellis

Don't ask for guarantees, and don't look to be saved in any one thing, person, machine, or library. Do your own bit of saving. And if you drown, at least die knowing you were headed for shore.
- Faber in Fahrenheit 451, by Ray Bradbury

Predicting the future is much too easy. You look at the people around you, the street you stand on, the visible air you breathe, and predict more of the same. To hell with more. I want better.
- Ray Bradbury

The fact that a believer is happier than a skeptic is no more to the point than the fact that a drunken man is happier than a sober one.
- George Bernard Shaw

Our responsibility for the future is to do what we can, learn what we can, improve the solutions, and pass them on.
- Richard Feynman

<quote=Bob Dylan>a poem is a naked person . . . some people say that i am a poet
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There's no black and white, left and right to me anymore; there's only up and down and down is very close to the ground. And I'm trying to go up without thinking about anything trivial such as politics. They has got nothing to do with it. I'm thinking about the general people and when they get hurt.
<quote=Corey Taylor>Pat Robertson doesn't worship the cross. He worships the fucking dollar sign
<quote=Keith Moon>My friends call me Keith, but you can call me John.
<quote=Simon & Garfunkel>In the words that it was forming.
And the signs said, the words of the prophets
Are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls.
And whisperd in the sounds of silence.

I'm gonna go with the most obvious one - "Enough is ENOUGH! I have had it with these motherfucking snakes on this motherfucking plane! ". Some one had to post it. I mean they made an entire movie with a sole purpose of letting Samuel Jackson say it...
That's your Samuel L Jackson quote? I'm sorry, but it doesn't hold a candle to:

And you will know my name is the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee!
I said I was going for the obvious one, not the awesome one. Besides, as awesome as his bible speech is, my favorite from the movie was this:

"Jules: I want you to go in that bag, and find my wallet.
Pumpkin: Which one is it?
Jules: It's the one that says Bad ************ "

It's just the way he says it.. Like "duh"...

Also the one from Vince - "Jules, if you're gonna give this fucking nimrod 1500 dollars, I'll shoot him on general principle", from the same scene. Pretty cool.

In Italy for thirty years under the Borgias they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love; they had five hundred years of democracy and peace and what did they produce? The cuckoo clock."

I have many.

Ayn Rand

"A creative man is motivated by the desire to achieve, not by the desire to beat others. "

"Force and mind are opposites; morality ends where a gun begins. "

"I swear, by my life and my love of it, that I will never live for the sake of another man, nor ask another man to live for mine."

"Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver."

"To say "I love you" one must first be able to say the "I."

"When I die, I hope to go to Heaven, whatever the Hell that is."
Richard Dawkins

"Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence."

"There may be fairies at the bottom of the garden. There is no evidence for it, but you can't prove that there aren't any, so shouldn't we be agnostic with respect to fairies?"
Oscar Wilde

"A cynic is a man who knows the price of everything but the value of nothing."

"A man who does not think for himself does not think at all."

"A thing is not necessarily true because a man dies for it."
I love all of these quotes.
