I support this statement as an American waiter who hates dealing with Europeans.

I would say that is entirely circumstantial.

If by circumstantial you refer to removing the factors from the equation, then I would agree. If not then I stand by what I said. Because I'm fairly certain there are as many stories of people being stupid because of arousal as there are of people being stupid as a result of the booze.

Or maybe I should disregard all those sober rape cases, the endless unwanted pregnancies, the career suicides and more than one war for some compelling reason?

Because the internet is a breeding ground for neckbeards and prepubescents who aren't used to interacting with girls, especially girls that share similar interests to them, so when they actually encounter one they start acting either like massive pussies or massive dicks.

This is not to say that EVERYBODY does this, or everybody on the internet is like this, but there's a huge population that is, and honestly, would you even notice if people just ignored you? It would probably just fade into the bland unmemorable pulp that is 99% of life and you'd think nothing of it. I don't I've ever met a girl in game that's acknowledged me not having my mic plugged in or whatever.

If you really want to steer clear annoying people on the internet, do what I do and just don't talk in game unless you're playing with your friends. Or just keep building your friends list with people that don't suck until eventually you can just avoid randomers altogether.

I am not saying she is lying. In fact, if you read my post again, you may notice I have shared my own experiences, which are (just as hers) personal experiences gathered over the years. More than 10 of those, actually. Oh man. I am old.

Your opinion here is quite flawed and devoid of logical thinking, and part of the same bias that makes people act the way they did in the game. You seem to be forming a very negative image of girl gamers because of past experience, which is in turn going to color your future experiences with them.

How it would be flawed is something you might want to explain to me, so I can better my ways in experiencing the fairer sex during my ventures in the world of online gaming.

You have to realize going into situations with that chip on your shoulder is just going to make them turn out exactly how you thought they would in the first place. You only notice those situations for the same reason so many girls will cry out injustice anytime a guy hits on them, because they focus on the negative experiences and neglect to remember the 50 perfectly normal experience in-between each negative one.

Because despite being fun, L4D, and most other mainstream multiplayer FPSes, are the cesspits of absolute douchbaggery online. I've honestly been in about 11 online matches with decent people on any mainstream FPS. Everyone else either didn't talk or was a total Asshat.
However, people do usually freak out when girls play online, mainly because a good percentage of those people hardly interact with the opposite sex.
One day, I was playing a game of L4D2 with a couple of random people, and they were okay until a girl joined the game. Then everyone went in to this strange primitive almost caveman like state of loyalty and overprotection to the one female in the group. When I said "What the hell is you guys' deal?!", they booted me.

One thing I've definitely noticed is that Australian gamers are either much closer to human beings or at the very least much less vocal. We're polite and respectful, here to enjoy ourselves (though there are definitely exceptions) and the PC definitely improves the attitude of the crowd aswell.

How then can we jump from a statement of "arousal inhibits logic" to, "hormones control your actions"? Let me reference a dictionary to make sure I'm using the word "inhibit" correctly. Google dictionary seems to think one of the definitions of the word is: "limit, block, or decrease the action or function of; "inhibit the action of the enzyme"; "inhibit the rate of a chemical reaction".

I play a few rounds of versus without the headset cause my little cousin wanted to borrow it for Halo: Reach in the next room.I'm having a pretty good night; a few long Jockey rides, some really good booms, and a Tank car throw that had me laughing like a mad scientist.
