At least I don't construct a straw man to argue against.

Saying men are controlled by their hormones (which is what you're doing) is just crap. If a girl arouses me, do you know what I don't do? Rape them.
This here is fallacy. A straw man argument. You are trying to have me defend an argument that was made in your mind. Go on and read what I said. Here, I'll quote myself for your convenience:
OT: It's the internet, that's what happens.[/quote]

This is handily overridden by arousal and it would seem hormones and a minimal blood supply to the brain are better than booze when it comes to inhibiting logic.
It seems to me that the claim I made was that arousal is more effective than alcohol when it comes to inhibiting logic, which can be referred to as higher brain functions.
But what of my second comment I hear you ask? Surely that was the bit that leads us here?

If by circumstantial you refer to removing the factors from the equation, then I would agree. If not then I stand by what I said. Because I'm fairly certain there are as many stories of people being stupid because of arousal as there are of people being stupid as a result of the booze.
So far it seems like I'm supporting my initial statement.

Or maybe I should disregard all those sober rape cases, the endless unwanted pregnancies, the career suicides and more than one war for some compelling reason?
And here we have a list of stupid things people have done while aroused.
How then can we jump from a statement of "arousal inhibits logic" to, "hormones control your actions"? Let me reference a dictionary to make sure I'm using the word "inhibit" correctly. Google dictionary seems to think one of the definitions of the word is: "limit, block, or decrease the action or function of; "inhibit the action of the enzyme"; "inhibit the rate of a chemical reaction".

If my colleague or underling at work arouses me, do you know what I don't do? Sleep with them and kill my career or rape them.
And I have been drunk on more than one occasion without getting behind the wheel of my car. That
you have not been aided in the pursuit of some idiotic enterprise because of hormones or that
I have not risked the lives of everyone on the road when drunk does not detract from the fact that other people have.

When my girlfriend and I have sex, do you know what I use to avoid unwanted pregnancies? Birth control.
And yet there are plenty of unwanted pregnancies. Considering how easy it is to mitigate the risks here, I think you would agree that
not making use of them when one does not want a child in their lives is foolish.

You're basically saying that men have no control over their actions when they get aroused. You are inadvertently giving every rapist a defense by saying they aren't in control of their actions.
No. That is a claim that you have made and a conclusion you extrapolated by taking your claim to the logical extreme. Feel free to defend it.
My claim was that their higher brain functions are inhibited as a result of arousal.
