Okay so I'm playing L4D2 on the box tonight. I play a few rounds of versus without the headset cause my little cousin wanted to borrow it for Halo: Reach in the next room.I'm having a pretty good night; a few long Jockey rides, some really good booms, and a Tank car throw that had me laughing like a mad scientist. The Cuz gets done an returns the headset. I pop it on as a new round starts and say say a quick "Hey guys it's (insert tag here) I'm on Headset now."

That's an unfair generalisation. While I have encountered girls who like to advertise the fact they are female and revel in the attention, they are only able do this because there are so many pathetic guys who cream their pants when they hear a girl's voice. There are plenty instances when the attention is unwanted and it is the fault of individuals of both genders. Most guys don't give a shit if someone is a girl and most girls don't want anyone giving a shit.

I get that all the time in WoW...More than a few gamers are the mental equivalent of a 13 year old male virgin, and they tend to flock to anything with tits.

Answer to your question: gaming is a hobby that skews overwhelming male.
As a result, gaming has a tendency to draw in a larger sample than the general population of young men who have trouble dealing with girls and women; young men and boys who are frightened by the opposite gender, etc. When confronted by a woman in what usually is a safe haven for them from their fears & insecurities they react badly.

Well Xbox online is filled with assholes like that. Or so I am told. Never really met alot of them, maybe its because I don't use my headset that much. Maybe its because I'm a dude. Whatever. But yeah, those guys just seem to be of the asshole variety. I've played with plenty of people who are such dickheads.
