Uh... all the sad moments in games get me really, really ticked off as opposed to weepy. I then go ballistic and stack hacking, fireballing, shooting, or just plain beating down any person in my way. So, tears? No. Homicidal rage only quenched by kicking alot of ass? Yes.

Yes, and not just for the obvious reasons. Some old text adventures like "Leather Goddess Of Phobos" were packed with things like Scratch N Sniffs as a joke to enhance the experience. Things like "you enter a totally disgusting bathroom, please inhale scratch N sniff #4". The very idea (thinking it funny, or pathetic) has been known to cause tears, and well.. some of those who actually did it have never had dry eyes again.

I suspect the practice stopped because of secret intervention by goverment chemical weapon authorities. :p

I don't think I've ever cried at a video game, but I have cried cos of the TV or a film. I have had lumps in my throat when a good character dies in a game though.

If anyone has cried during a video game, they need to be slapped across the face and told to stop being a pussy.
Or you need to be slapped across the face and told to stop being a jerk. Works both ways, buddy.

And if I screw up during the end of Mass Effect 2, I forsee tears on my end.

I only cry when a game fails to meet my expectations, but so far no game has made me cry based on storyline events. The closest I've ever come to crying because of a game was the ending of FF7:Crisis Core when...
Zack gets shot up.

I mentioned much earlier in this thread that I couldn't remember ever crying while playing a game, but I just remembered that I came reeeealy close while playing Chrono Cross.
Specifically the scene where you go back in time and rescue Kid from the burning orphanage.
The scene itself is sad, but what really got to me was the music, particularly when the vocals start at 50 seconds in:

It probably loses its impact without seeing the scene or having a feel for the characters.
You (sort of) witness the death of a beloved character from the first game, and then you watch as young Kid watches her only home burn to cinder, leaving her completely alone in the world.
She's probably the only character in the game who is at all developed.

Spoiler warning, I guess.
Okay, I'm going to quote two moments in video games that actually made me cry.
First was the dialogue between Irenicus and Elesime in Baldur's Gate 2. Okay, so it was more like weak sobbing because poor acting and being to far away to see expressions broke the immersion a bit, but I did shed a few tears at that moment. It was a very well written tragedy.
The other was the death of Eli Vance in HL2e2. I'm secure enough in my masculinity to admit to crying at that moment. The players involved are all really well characterized and the acting was really good and that fact that Gordon is a unstopable badass caught off-guard and forced to watch helplessly added to the impact of it, because it made me fell like it was all my fault.

I did in my first playthrough of Mass Effect, on Virmire. There have been other times, but that was the first time.

The Path fucked with my head- crying was the least it did to me.
That game was some damn fine art; it hit me harder than seeing my first big Monet painting. (which was also a very emotional experience for me)

When Snake shoots himself at the end of MGS4. (I know that they had the ending changed after the credis, but I liked the ending with Snake dying. More emotional.

Also, Mass Effect had a few candidate moments.

The end of Halo 3 made me cry. Not because the end of that game was particularly sad, but because it was the final game in a story ark that changed who I was as I was growing up. So, I guess for a game to make me cry, it has to be really REALLY important to me.
Oh, and Yoshi's story. Because that game has the saddest music of any game ever.

I cried at the end of Link's Awakening. You know, when you find out it was all a dream. That last camera shot combined with the music really had me crying.

No, so far I haven't cried in video games. But then, I can't remember the last time a movie or book made me cry either.
