Can you ever punch a teacher?

I don't really think that you should ever punch someone. You might want to, but as soon as you hit someone you are the one who is going to pay the consequences-suspension, expulsion, or even the law getting involved. No matter what you may have heard, your youth record is never really sealed. I have a friend who worked security on an American military base in a foreign country and any time there was any sort of trouble on the base, he got hauled in for questioning because he had some run-ins with the law when he was in high school. Assault charges from more than 20 years ago made his life so miserable that he quit his job.
??? Why would I do that? I've called my teachers fuckheads before, thrown things, etc. (I was a really shitty kid), but never in my darkest dreams would I have considered punching them. What would that get me? More to the point, at my worst I was like, 13. Most of my teachers were stronger than me. Yes, even the eldery female ones.
Pretty much anything that crossed the "self-defense" line. If he/she just insulting you or something like that, it's just easier and more effective o simply report them to the principal, who can punish or even fire the teacher if the offense is bad enough. It would have to be pretty extreme for me to punch a teacher. Only if they swung at me first or if they were beating on someone else. It also depends on if they're a teacher that I have or think I might have in the future. While there are certainly teachers that deserve it, it's just not worth screwing over the rest of the term if I happen to punch the physics teacher I happened not to get along with or something.

He cheated on his wife who was his highschool sweetheart with a girl in the grade about me starting from when she was about 15 and now he's left his wife and two kids and is trying to get the other girl pregnant.
I hope there aren't any cops around if I happen to see him again. I really looked up to him before I found out about all that bs.

As a teacher, I can say that at no time should you assault your teacher. On the other side of the coin, a teacher should never insult/instigate a student where the course of action leads to violence. I will say from an educators prospective that the line we are allowed to tread is small. We have been painted into a corner where the student and the parents have ultimate control for nearly every situation. Our hands our tied as far as what we can and cannot do.

However, if the school's administration and the staff are at odds then you probably will not see much beyond a suspension. Each school is different. I have worked in some schools where it is tough to be a teacher and you very little support from anyone and other schools where there is a lot of support built into the system and you should never encounter this problem.
If I remember the movie Disturbia correctly, the punch was a little out of character considering what was said but under the circumstances the teacher was out of line and should have approached the situation differently. I know he was trying to motivate the main character but went about it in a very strange way. That said the movie needed something to set up his reason for having the ankle tracker. The original movie was much better.

There was a teacher I wanted to punch so badly in 2010. He was a maths teacher, but a horrible one. Half the things he 'taught' us were flat out wrong, a lot of the class needed help from the competent maths teacher for our year level, and he had an inflated sense of his own awesomeness so huge it was hard to see him around it.

You can´t punch someone for beeing a teacher, but you can punch that same person for beeing a douchebag, just don´t do it at school, AND don´t go to his house either, police won´t like that.
Just wait for a random encounter and strike, preferably when you don´t go to that school anymore.

And I have a feeling you are greatly misconstruing the intent of those quotes. Sit by the river long enough and EVERYBODY'S body will float by, especially if that river is the Ganges. The proverb says to have patience because your enemy will eventually destroy himself or be destroyed by someone other.
A teacher is like a mentor, they are there to guide the student, and show them the path, but never walk with them along the path more than the first few steps. When a teacher refuses to show the student the path, or tries to walk the path with the student, that is when they have failed both the student, and themselves.
That aside...
I personally have had a few moments when I was ready to just beat the crap out of my teachers in middle school, as they had no respect for the students, and feel they can get away with anything. For instance: My math teacher one time had lost their temper, and had a bad day because of their previous class/because thye were alte for work/etc. They started going off at one of my friends at which point I stood up, and was just about ready to punch them straight in the face... Luckily my friend calmed me down before I did anything drastic ^^
In high school, I've found the teachers respect us though, and treat us as adults. As such I have no qualms with them.
When the teacher decides to vent their frustration on a student, treat students unfairly, let their own morals interfere, abuse their authority, and generally set up students to fail in most cases, that is when they deserve to get punched.

I have punched a teacher once, bastard deserved it.

In a situation of self-defense against an unlawful physical assualt, sure.
But words should always be fought with words, to resort to violence is an admission of inferiority, a quick way to lose public sympathy, and will have severe repercussions.
