Algebra doesn't need to be made awesome, it already is. However for other people I suppose a good way to make it more interesting would be to get free booze for every eqn solved.
That would make continuous calculations slightly difficult.

Either you like math and algebra is already really neat, or else it will never be.

Which just leaves the question, why are you taking algebra at all? If you don't like it, quit taking it. Unless you are being forced to take it to achieve some other life goal, in which case, just accept that it will be boring, like exercise or eating your vegetables, and survive it as a necessary evil borne to get what you really want.

I know I'm stating a radical opinion, but no one needs anything more than simple arithmetic to get by in this modern world. As someone who loves math, I would like nothing better than to tell you that were not true. But the bottom line is that I never use even basic algebra unless I'm going out of my way to tackle a question/problem that the ordinary person doesn't give a flying fuck about.

Being able to quickly divide/multiply numbers in your head so you can figure out your gas mileage or a unit price at the grocery store is about as tough as it gets out here. You might even have to stretch into remedial geometry if you wanted to build a deck or something. But you will never need to solve the roots of a quadratic in real life, unless you pick a job based on math, which would be a really stupid thing to do if you don't already enjoy it.

It may be just a tad immature, but i always saw the word "algebra" as anagram. observe:

algebra = A-Gel-Bra.

and honestly, who wouldn't love a gel bra?

I find algebra to be extremely exciting as it is. If you don't like math, maybe you're just not cut out for it?

if we take the radius of a pizza to be 'z' and the height to be 'a' the volume = pi*z*z*a

I looooooooove Physics and since Maths is a major part of Physics then I like maths to but I prefer Physics because it involves how things work and I love finding out how things work.
So to me maths is already awesome.

Women are the source of evil. My proof:

Woman=Time
Time=Money
Money=[sqt]Evil (Money is the root of all evil)
Hence Woman=[sqt]Evil

Thus women are the root of all evil. They are responsible for everything wrong in the world?

(j/k, of course...)
you just made sence of all the world, and for that I give you the cookie of awsome ness.

You see it, oh thats right, the cookie is so awsome that no one can see it.

Make Gordon Freeman teach it...
Nah he'd be a physics teacher. And it would be hard to teach it, being he's a mute and all.
But then again...Gordon Freeman makes everything even a bit better then it was so yeah. It would be awesome!
Yes, but mathematics are a staple of physics, so it would still count.
You guys do know that Gordon Freeman would just beat mathmatics into his subjects with a crowbar right.

This isn't really algebra, but do what my old maths teacher did in about 9th year when we were doing geometry:

(draws a circle on the board)
"this is a triangle. Henry, what is this?"
"uh, a circle?"
"NO!" (bangs plastic sword on table)

Yeah, Try telling anyone in 3rd grade about what a normal algebra problem is to you and they'll think you have the brain of a super computer. That can make it very fun
That is so true! And great fun!

I can't make it awesome. Not without an enourmous amount of explosives (Or alternatively a gravity gun infused with dark energy).
