who hates sakura?Phoenix Arrow said:EVERYONE hates Scrappy Doo. Reminds me of this:Nevyrmoore said:Apparently, Scrappy Doo. Which was news to me. [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/TheScrappy]
Anyway, Sakura from Naruto.
Apparently she's irritating. But, quite frankly, she has pink hair and can cause minor earthquakes.rokkolpo said:who hates sakura?
she,s not even wearing pants!! what,s not to love?
Korolev said:Sure, Shinji from Neon Genesis
Sure I don't like him either, but the pure amount of hate he gets is abnormal. Some say he's a coward and a weakling and that's true to an extent.... but he's a 14 year old nerd for pete's sake. He's not macho-rambo, bring-em-on super boy. He's just an average young teenager, shyer and more emotionally sensitive than most. Yes he breaks down - but after all the crap he goes through many would too. Shinji doesn't fit the standard "hero boy" mould that most anime and manga try to cram down your throat, and for that, I like him as a character.
95% of all manga and anime is pure and utter garbage. Cliche, run of the mill dross that you can predict miles away. Hey guess what, you know Naruto? Think he dies at ANY point in the manga? Because if you do you're an idiot. Naruto is NOT going to die in the manga NAMED after him for kids and teenagers. In BLEACH, Ichigo is NOT going to die. Naruto and Bleach lack any tension at all, because it's so painfully predictable. Every time either is in an impossible spot, Naruto will pull more stamina/chakra out of his ass and Ichigo will pull another power jump out of his rear-end. Or someone will come and save them, or the enemy will "have to go away for a while". Both.....are.....so......boring.
At least with NGE, characters DIED, protagonists could turn into antagonists, almost everyone was emotionally screwed up and although it was predictable and run of the mill for the first half of the anime, it quickly took a turn down dark and weird street and was all the better for it. The movie was a complete mind-screw too. Which was refreshing.
But this isn't a rant on how bad most anime and manga is, it's a rant on which characters I want to defend. So in no particular order:
Otacon from MGS - because he might be a whiner, but he's a computer scientist. Not grim soldier guy.
I'm not sure if Zarniwoop was hated very much in HHGTTG, mostly because he was in there for about all of 2 chapters, but he's portrayed as a villian, when in fact he's just trying to get to the truth.
Oh and again, a lot of people hate him, but Bernard Marx from Brave New World. Oh.... hm. Yeah I don't like him much either. So forget about him. Some seem to hate Mond a lot too, but I thought he was, by far, the most sane, intelligent and likeable character in that whole book.
Yeah she was basically my favorite character in the entire game. I can't think of anyone else with such a distinct personality off the top of my head.Clashero said:And this. I liked Moira! She was fun, quirky and eccentric!elitepie931 said:Moria in Fallout 3.
I don't know why everyone hates her.
She wasn't THAT annoying.
It is because he isn't a badass. Plus i never really used him in my lineup. I think he was supposed to focus on speed rather than doing damage, so he didn't get a lot of playing time.Et3rnalLegend64 said:They don't like him because he's not as "cool" or "badass" as Cloud or Squall most likely. And the laughing scene...... oh god. Too bad Cloud and Squall have to be so emo all the time. He definitely beats them there. (Blitz Ace FTW)traceur_ said:Jar-Jar Binks and Tidus. I don't even get why people don't like Tidus, he's awesome.
I dont! I feel bad he had to deal with Cole all the time.ToxinArrow said:Baird from Gears of War. He's the only person in the game who is 'normal' yet everyone hates him.
I think Vrex is going to propose to you soon.ccesarano said:However, I have yet to meet another person that actually likes the Arbiter from Halo 2 (he's just kind of there in Halo 3). I never got caught up in the human plight of the Halo universe. From the very first game I was fascinated by all the little nuances that suggested a pattern to the Covenant, what their culture was like and the history of the Halo rings. The human side was a bland "we're being invaded we're gonna die oh noes!" story, and while I liked the Master Chief having a pattern of "only survivor" in the first two games he overall had no personality.
So here we are presented with The Arbiter, an alien character from a different culture that is manipulated by the system that made a warrior of him. Soon enough he discovers the truth of matters and has to help lead his race in a rebellion against the Covenant. I don't care if it's been done before, the execution added a personality to the aliens and brought additional life to the Halo setting. It was not a boring "man vs. alien" problem anymore.
I guess I can just say "Halo 2" altogether. Again, no, it's nothing new or stupendous in terms of story, but it's nothing bad either. But generally I have yet to find someone that liked being placed into the shoes of the Arbiter, a much more interesting character than the Master Chief, as I had.
I didn't like him at first, but he grew on me.ToxinArrow said:Baird from Gears of War. He's the only person in the game who is 'normal' yet everyone hates him.
I didn't realise people hated Niko.Sparrow said:Niko Bellic.
I just loved that guy and his rugged beard.

I'm not sure if Vrex is even human. He might be an Elite in disguise.ccesarano said:That doesn't sound like a lady's name.Machines Are Us said:I think Vrex is going to propose to you soon.
