Bloody Tidus. Not only was he superfluous to the plot and a complete waste of space, but he didn't even have the good grace to realise it!
"This my story!"
No. No, it is not. Go away.
Except yeah it was. Without him, Yuna would have scarificed herself and continued the Sin cycle. The fayth knew that his outside perspective would allow him to break the cycle. The fact that Yuna fell in love with him and decided she didn't want to die anymore was just icing on the cake.

Pay attention if you want to make assertions like that.

Mario, fat racist stereotype with as much depth as my pinkie
Wait, really? He's a jolly blue-collar guy who's pretty quick on the uptake and likes to help people, who happens to be Italian-American. Even positive stereotypes aren't exactly the best things, but I'm not really seeing anything to get up in arms over. If I were to raise the battle flag about anything there, it would be the classism and American stereotyping of an blue-collar laborer immigrant.

Now, if Mario joined the mob or started beating Peach, I'd be a little concerned.
Yes it isn't something to get up in arms about, it's just one other reason why I dislike him, immensely.

Those two IDIOTS from Army of Two, rios and salem or whatever. I never played the second one so I'm not sure about that one, but in the first game they talked and acted like 12-year olds... Now I have no problem with cussing in games, but in Army of Two they swore like pre-teens that just learned all the swear words for the first time. They gave the game such an immature and juvenile tone.

Starkiller from the Force Unleashed comes to mind immediately; Yahtzee sums it up well - he is a superpowered emo with a fringe that reaches the floor; he just whines all day long and keeps acting with the maturity of a ten year old.
Probably not the worst one, but he's the only one that currently comes to mind.

A character that's a disgrace to gaming? Wouldn't that mean...a disgraceful gamer character? I mean, since when have badly-written characters reflected badly on their medium?
Since jar-jar.
I laughed so hard! sigh* forgot about him
*sigh* Here I go loving things others hate again.... I don't understand why everyone hates this character concept either except that maybe they don't understand that Jar Jar is a "living" metaphor for the Taoist ideology. Maybe Taoism is a huge turn off when it comes to entertainment? That would make sense for video game fans since so much of what we do is all about making decisions and Taoists.... Well, y'know....
Actually, Jar Jar is just a comic relief character. Nothing more. You're reading way too deep into his (extremely shallow) character. I'd say the Jedis are much closer to Taoists than Jar Jar ever was.
I might agree with you if you were talking about the Jedi that were scholars and philosophers, yes. However, once you don the monk jammies and start meting out justice with a lazer sword it kind of defies the concept of the uncarved block, no?

To be fair my perspective of Jar Jar comes mostly from the books which give him a lot more dialogue and in a couple of conversations with Padme his lines almost sound directly taken from the Tao Te' Ching. Just my opinion. Great books by the way if you enjoyed the films.

I'm sorry but what's a "Mary-Sue?" Is it anything like an "Anna Mae" they seem equally unliked....
A Mary-Sue is a character that is just perfect. They have mad skills for no real reason, and are liked by people despite being bland. Bela, from Twilight, is an example
God, I love TvTropes : D

I was about to mention Duke Nukem just from seeing gameplay of DNF, but ever since someone mentioned a certain Rosh Penin, the Duke has suddenly become a lot more tolerable.

The voice, the endless whiny voice! Suddenly turning evil because he is a jerk and then demanding to be kept alive! Kyle Katarn, why did you hold me back!?

A mary-sue is the equivalent of someone who is so powerful that it defies the laws of giving any sort of crap about the character. See: Kratos (God of War.)

There's quite a lot of them, I say. Kratos is pretty high, as well as Duke "Twelve More Years" Nukem. Hope (FFXIII), Lightning in her Dissidia counterpart, (Screw her. Seriously, Dissidia '012' was Dissidia XIII.) Master Chief's over-hype. King Arthas from Warcraft.

But you wanna know who I hate the most?

Player-created characters in World of Warcraft that reach level 60 or whatever it's on now.
aw what u got against us wow players? anyway my most hated character is Rochelle from l4d2 its not her fault though, valve just decided to make her say annoying things when she's hurt badly. As for Kratos, he had character development in the first gow but in the 2nd and 3rd he was just someone hellbent and perma-pressed on revenge because of his nightmares.(So was zeus the only god he could have asked for help about his nightmares or what?)

She sickens me to my very core. I hate everything about her: her aesthetic design, her voice actor, her moves, her personality, everything.
She HAS to be a joke character, right? Nobody in their right mind would make such a foul beast. I would also complain about how she only has Ryu's movelist copied, but then I would have to complain about 80% of the fighters-

All this hate on the king, man that's kinda upsetting to think that this many people can't find Duke awesome for what he is. A giant parody, he's never meant to be taken seriously and seems like a lot of people are. Just cause you say you understand him as a satire doesn't mean you do, the developers said themselves he's a giant parody of all 90's action heros.
Trust me, I'm well aware of Duke's satirical take on the big-name action stars of film. There's a reason why the vast majority of his quotes are from films. "It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum, and I'm all out of gum"? Misquoted line from They Live. "Don't got time to bleed!" Predator. "Hail to the king, baby!" Army of Darkness. I can go on, if you'd like, but you probably get the point. I've owned pretty much every game in the Duke lineup, except for one or two expansions to Duke Nukem 3D like Duke Nukem 3D: Duke it out in DC. I actually enjoy Duke's brand of extreme macho humor and playful satire of the movies I grew up loving. But that doesn't mean I can't recognize how the non-gaming public will view him. And that leads me to the next part...

Also, I watch fox news, my whole family watches fox news and we still love video games (wow that's an oxymoron according to you guys) Just because someone's a conservative doesn't make them ignorant. Assuming that anyone who watches fox news is ignorant is the truly ignorant thought.
You and your family are clearly not part of the non-gaming public. Given Fox and it's... checkered... history with reporting on video games and its outright reliance upon fabricating or at the very least misrepresenting the facts (like the full frontal nudity in Mass Effect and the killing of pregnant women and children in Grand Theft Auto III), it's not much of a stretch to predict Fox completely missing the point with Duke, and trying to paint him as a very broad picture of video game characters and those who enjoy said characters. And the non-gaming public won't have much evidence contrary to that, unless they actually look into it for themselves. And if they don't look into it, why not believe Fox? I mean... they're on TV, right? So... there's no chance at all they could be manipulating the facts.

Most hated? Otis from Deadrising. *in the middle of a boss fight* *RING RING! RING RING!* NO!
And by the way, hell yes. I hated that guy. And God help you if he calls you, mid boss-fight, and you hang up with him before he finishes telling you about how he enjoys fresh, cool lemonade on a warm summer day. Suddenly you're the bad guy for being rude. /facepalm

Thanks for answering my question but do you really think Hope is a Mary-Sue?? In the few parts that you must have him in team he has always seemed to be the liability of the team to me. Then again he mostly fits the supporting or "Synergist" role so that would make sense. I mean if he was that powerful then is Fang also a Mary-Sue?

Well, the Master chief has less personality and emotion than a cement block. he is the least interesting character i have ever come across, that of itself does not make for a bad character, but the way the fanboys treat him as bad-ass in hyper-condensed really puts me of the character.
Hey, you know who has even less personality then Master Chief? Gordon Freeman. Seriously, tell me I'm wrong. In fact, Freeman and Master Chief are almost identical in every way(Power-armored badasses who become symbols of hope to a downtrodden human race while conquering an alien menace alongside a tomboyish female sidekick), except MC has more lines of dialog. Like, 3 of them.

Also, MC actually had a much more legitimate claim to the whole "symbol of hope" thing then Freeman did. See, Master Chief was the only soldier in a war for survival who could fight an incredibly powerful enemy effectively. It makes sense for people to rally around him.

Freeman, however, actually CAUSED the alien invasion in question, then disappeared for around 2 decades. Seriously, how did people even hear about him? He was nobody! Even ignoring that glaring plot hole, what exactly did he DO pre-dissapearance to garner all that faith? Spectacularly fail to save the Earth? Yeah, that sounds like a real symbol of hope to me! Anywho, that's it for me. I have to kick a beehive, poke a bear, and maybe play with some fire.

OT: I don't know, any female character from a Team Ninja game?

EDIT: Hmm, lots of people confusing "Disgrace to gaming" with "characters I don't personally like".
Except 2 important facts. Master Chief is a Spartan Superhuman that was made to kill a billion aliens with a vast array of weapons.

Gordon Freeman is a scientist in an anti-rad suit with a vast array of weaponry that is forced to kill a billion aliens in order to survive.

Gordon Freeman also has pictures of his former family in his closet. He has friends like Barney and... (I didnt really like Alyx) And Dr Vance. Heck, even Magnusson wants to hug him in the end.

Master Chief has the Alliance and Cortana. Mostly military folks, as to be expected of a military personelle.

Gordon Freemans battleground is a Lab-gone wrong (Total Cliche by now) and an Aliencontrolled City.

Masterchiefs Battleground is Fkin Space a Ringworld-knockoff and some Earth City.

Gordon Freemans motives you decide for yourself.

Master Chief's motives. To save humanity.

The question of which one is best is subjective. I prefer Gordon Freeman, mostly because of the fact that he is a Nerd that beats up Aliens with Superweapons. While Masterchief is a Superhuman that beats up Aliens with Superweapons. Personal prefference.

None of them I consider the worst for Videogaming..

Tbh: I think Sonic's character is the worst in Videogaming history. His loud, obnoxious. A jerk, with huge ammounts og over-the-top ego and arrogance. And it isnt even made into a joke, nope. We are supposed to take him seriously. I preffered him as a blue hedgehog running on a 2dplatform.

Back to Freeman: The scientists who survived the ordeal probably told people about the guy who saved their lives. Also, Gordon Freeman wasnt the reason for the outbreak. Reason for the outbreak was budget cuts. Honestly.

As to why everybody knew about him.. Well lets see, Leader of the rebellion. Leader of white forest. Leader of C17 rebellion. Was all in the Black-Mesa incident. Wouldnt take long for them to tell everybody about him (I dont think the rebellion was actually that big)

Uh, yeah, she is a joke character. The idea of an untrained schoolgirl who is on par with these ridiculously muscled guys who are ostensibly the most powerful people in the world is totally ludicrous and definitely a parody. The superpowered schoolgirl is kind of a running cultural archetype over there, and she's a parody of what that archetype would be like in the otherwise serious world of street fighter.

Y'know what? I've tried to defend Jar-Jar tonight. I've tried to defend Hope tonight.

*siiiiiigh* I just don't think I can do Sakura's defense justice right now.

I'll be back tomorrow.

CONSPIRACY THEORY! EVERYONE ON TV IS MANIPULATING FACTS!!!!!!

J/k I read your post and yes the non-gaming community will take it bad because they're non-gaming.

Not all of fox news is bad, some of their shows offer a different opinion from mainstream media and a lot of people think that difference in opinion from the majority is bad but yet people somehow accept a differing opinion if its against fox news. Peoples hypocrisy is just astounding.
