Stanley was a good character, but I hated him. I can't say that much for Penelo.

Since I've mainly played Pokemon, my least favorite, unbridled hatred award goes to Chimchar, as it's a monkey version of Torchic. I don't like monkeys, and I didn't like Torchic, so what does this make? The worst Pokemon in existence.

Kaiden and Ashley, and by extension Jacob and Miranda. Though it's less hate with an unbridled, illogical passion, and more of a complete and utter indifference.

I just get bored with them because all the alien characters seem infinitely more interesting to me. No matter how great the human characters might be, I always seem to gravitate towards the more exotic and appealing alien characters.

I will admit though, I do like Basch. Possibly my favourite character. Fran seems deliberately sexualised, though I like the character, Ashe is like if Vaan was royalty, Penelo is too 'background', and Balthier, while being a leading man, only seems to be involved because he has an airship.

OT: The rivals in Heartgold/Soulsilver and Platinum. How I loathe those punks (and I can never think of a good name for them). There are probably more (like Wesker in RE5, or Aveline
in DA2), but those pokemon rivals seem like their entire purpose for existing is to be a massive p@#$k.

Same here. Basch was the only character I liked in FFXII.

Vaan on the other hand... if I ever saw him in real life I would immediately sprint toward him without fear and CUT HIM IN HIS STUPID FUCKING ANDROGYNOUS FACE AND LICK UP THE BLOOD, GAIN HIS POWER AND REPLACE HIM IN THE PLOT AND NOT ACT LIKE A FLYING RETARD!!!!!!!!!! *feral noises, it's quite frightening*

I'm going to be nice and not respond to the people who inevitably have ragged on Ashley from Mass Effect or any of the cast from Halo, because I really can't be bothered getting into these arguments again.

So instead, without further ado:

Duke Nukem:
He is supposed to be a 'parody' but comes across more like a power fantasy for immature boys. His jokes are all beyond terrible, his one liners shamelessly ripped off from other, better sources, he rags on other game protagonists who are better then him in every bloody way and he's a raging misogynist.
He's just unpleasant and I'm glad to see mainstream hatred for his latest game. I don't say this often for games but I'm glad this one gets a lot of hate.

Ayumi (X-blades):
A combination of all the worst stereotypes of the female gender, that she exists and is featured as both a horrific negative stereotype of women AND an exploitative character design just makes me feel ashamed for the industry.
Fortunatley, again, just about everyone I know hates her.

The Prophet of Truth:
He's a fanatical, genocidal, manipulative prick.

Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect 2):
Don't know what it is about her, but every time she's on screen I just want to strangle a small cute animal.

Sonic the Hedgehog:
I can't really say much more except for that these days watching him try to compete with other games that have since surpassed him is just sad.
