Vaan, Balthier, Ashe, Penello, the bunny chick and every minor character except for Basche's twin from FF12
Quina from FF9
Duke Nukem from every Duke Nukem game, not just the crap one.
Nix and Kuo from inFamous 2
Brucie from GTA 4
Anyone that gives me a tutorial in a Pokemon game

I would give reasons as to why, but these are meant to be illogical hates.

Vanille and Fang from Final Fantasy XIII.

Lots of Final Fantasy games had characters I would have been happy to do without, but Vanille and Fang ruined an already ruined game experience...

FFXIII is the only game I can think of that is double-ruined, if such a thing exists.

OT: Though while we're on the topic of Dragon Age II - Isabela.

Merrill. I don't know why and I don't care, I just want to beat her half to death every time she opens her mouth!

Default Commander Shepard. Y'know, that partly-shaven scowling dude on the front of all Mass Effect games and advertisements. First of all, he looks like he'd take gold at the Douche Olympics, idk why but I just get that vibe from him (quotes like "We fight or we die. That's the plan!" from ME3 trailers don't help). More importantly, he's not MY Shepard! Every time I see him doing things that my character did, and speaking with the same voice, it just screws me up and I hate my own character(s) a little bit more. I wish Bioware didn't focus their marketing on the one character that most players will literally never see in-game :(

I hate the two little conscious guys in Black and White. They never, ever, shut up and let me just be a fantastic goddess. I'd like to say that I can't describe my hatred for the both of them, but no, I can, in one sentence.

If I had to burn down the entire Black and White game world with a (divine) handheld lighter and build anew from AMOEBAS to get rid of them, I would in a heartbeat without hesitation and without any remorse for all of the innocent, pixelated followers I'd be killing, even my own creature (whom I love to bits); the destruction would be worth shutting them up.

...Oh, and I was pretty annoyed at the Council from Mass Effect for being pinheads, but really, that's more of a benign simmer compared to the burning hatred I feel for those advisers.

Am I the only one who has a blind, passionate hate for Link? HE DOESN'T FUCKING TALK and everybody talks at him like he is speaking. I can understand Nintendo not wanting to conform to a voice actor and let the players insert their own voice where his should be, but I at least want a text blurb!

Example:

Link walks into a store and stares at a potion. The storekeeper says "You want that? Ok, it'll be 15 ruppees. Thank you, you have a nice day too."

They talk AT him and give responses as though he were talking and he doesn't. Not a single word. That and have you SEEN Ganondorf? Wikipedia Ganondorf and read his power list. How does he keep losing to a 4 foot elf with a magic sword and 2 attacks?
lol because Ganondorf underestimates links 2 attacks and gos easy on him on and from the zelda games:zelda her self. she never puts out and always commands link around like some hated dog(except in twilight prinsess wich is ironic because you are a dog in that game) like at the end of orcarina of time (excuse my spelling) "o thank you link for saving everything now give the the orcarina and have a good life" link"...so thats it no reward not even a lousy rupee but instead you take something from me and shoo me off...you know what thats fine just fine"*walks off*. thats how it seems to go to me but i still love the zelda games(except majoras mask that game can DIE!!!)

Edgar Ross from Red Dead Redemption because of the ending of the game, and Rico Velasquez from the Killzone series. He seems completely unable to follow any order which has gotten many of his fellow soldiers killed including one of his closest friends. I am astonished that he was ever promoted to sergeant. Did the ISA want to lose the war? He also somehow interpreted the order "capture the Helghast leader and bring him in as a prisoner" as "shoot him in the face at point blank range when he was unarmed and seemingly willing to come quietly." Is he insubordinate or just idiotic? I think both.

CJ from GTA San Andreas, on account of how completely oblivious he is. Pretty much every other GTA protaganist seems to understand that they are fundementally assholes who are helping themselves at the expense of an entire city, which isn't exactly admirable but is at least consistent with all the fucked up stuff they do. CJ, on the other hand, seems to want to help his loved ones, but only manages to make his life and theirs worse through a series of absurdly stupid decisions, then blames it on the police and other gangs, who from what I can tell just want him to stop burning down their hangouts and beating people to death with sex toys. I mean, this is a guy who decides at the begining of the game that, after losing his mom and brother to gang violence, the best course of action would be to give up the legitimate life he's been living on the other side of the country and escalate said violence in his neighborhood by provoking a gang war, putting his family and friends in even greater danger and causing the needless deaths of hundreds of total strangers. I mean, I'm okay with playing as a criminal, but when the main character is more destructive and less likable then the people who are supposed to be the bad guys, it's hard to keep playing and watch him continue to fuck everything up. Admittedly, I haven't finished the game, so maybe he has some life-changing epiphany near the end, but for now he's an asshole, even by GTA standards.

Well, Jacob from ME2, but everyone seems to hate him.
Really?

:0

I didn't think anything negative of him, he was just a military character who'd rather it all stayed in a bag, instead of being talked about.
Although... I come from a military background... So maybe everyone else got pissy while I was tolerant... Although that would be one of the rare times I was tolerant of someone's attitude above other people's xD

From Mass Effect, Ashley, Jacob, whatever the guys name was that I left on Virmire, and Miranda.
I guess it's just the fact that they're all completely uninteresting soldier-types that makes them easy targets for rage, but I still don't completely understand it. Regardless, any and all tiny bits of anger I have for the ME series seems to converge and funnel directly at them.

Slightly less anger for Miranda maybe (dat ass and whatnot).

Ashley because I unconditionally love any/all aliens, and she be racist towards them.
Jack because... Well... I dunno, I just hate her guts. And I think she sucks. Reel Big Fish covers this subject pretty well song-wise, methinks.
This. My friends who've played ME don't understand why I killed Ashley but went out of my way to save Wrex, but she got less use than any other member of my party and I had to force myself to slow down when deciding if she or Kaiden had to die because I was worried that the other characters might judge me if I condemned her to death before I was even finished listening to my options. I think my problem with her (in addition to the racism) was that she reminded me of a girl I knew from high school who was born without self-esteem, and thus owned a lot of guns and took a bunch of martial arts classes because she thought "eager discussion of/random threats of physical violence" was the same thing as confidence.

'Course there is. There is an up and a down, there is a right and a wrong, there is a black and a white, there is hate that is logical and one that is not. That's the way the universe goes.
No, hate by it's very nature is irrational and illogical.
Hate is in no way illogical or irrational. Like racism, it is a self defense mechanism designed to avoid situations that could cause you discomfort or harm you. Rationally, everything should be treated as an individual, but the concepts of hate and racism are perfectly reasonable.

For example, if your family was shot, you may hate guns. Did every gun shoot your family? No, but you lump them together. Guns may be inanimate, but the situation remains the same with other objects or actions.

Yes, but that is still neither logical nor rational.
