Dragon Age 2, Anders and Fenris. One who wants to liberate Mages and one just wishes they'd be locked away or killed because he was enslaved by one if i remember correctly. Both are as annoying as each other. Anders was a decent character in Awakening, but now he's this insane over zealous idiot who goes out of his way to cause large problems.

Qara from Neverwinter Nights 2, Chaotic Neutral my ass. When you suggest kill it with fire as your method of problem solving (And thats your only method) that would generally mean you're closer to Chaotic Evil rather than Chaotic Neutral. Diplomatic situation? Fire. Saving someone from a fire? Use more fire. Attempting to kill a Fire Elemental? MORE FIRE! Couple that with a freakishly large ego, i think she tops my list of most hated characters ever.

Squall from FFVIII. I do like his 'let's just get the job done' kind of attitude, but the brooding, mysterious, angsty, bereft of emotion, lone wolf thing gets old after about half an hour. And the game is 4 discs long. Granted he does change towards the end but he still somehow manages to lack any kind of personality, and I can't stand characters with no personality.

I hate Anders from Dragon Age 2, he annoyed me and caused trouble, often for no reason and hated everyone that wasn't a mage. I also dislike Kairi from Kingdom Hearts, I can't really explain why, I just dislike her, it's an illogical hate, but I can't stand her. I also dislike Rush from the Last Remnant.

Well, Jacob is basically an emotionless robot. He didn't even show real emotion when his dad was being a sick dictator. No wonder a lot of people hate him.

Honestly, I forgot all about him until that mission. Afterward, I kept ignoring him until the game was over. He doesn't really have much of a purpose at all.

I, for one, could not STAND Elena from Uncharted 1 and 2. Every time she puts her own dumb-ass in danger for her fucking camcorder, I wanted to just clobber her in her stupid head with it. How Drake could pick her over Chloe is a question I will never figure out.

I disagree on the Fenris front. He has two personality traits! Hating mages andhaving the angsty emo "lo is me, lyf sux" personality.

The Joker. Seriously, it's fine if a villain clowns around and does stupid s***, but we're supposed to believe that he's also a super-intelligent mastermind, has good fighting skills (Arkham Asylum, anyone?), and continually escapes prison and gains a legion of followers? Not only that, but he steals the spotlight from Batman, is completely cocky, and everyone seems to love him, fans and all. F*** that, I say. He can go choke on roped turd.

Other runner-ups: Rogue the Bat, the kids from Twilight Princess, Atlus from Bioshock (flame shield stil up), Ratchet (at times), several characters from Lost and 24, the old lady from Be Kind Rewind (god I wanted to kill her), Farah (feminist to the extreme) and possibly Chloe from Uncharted. Phew, I think I'm done.

Dude, I see your point, but there´s something that I don´t understand. You´re saying that he steals the spotlight from Batman. EVERYONE steals the spotlight from Batman. He is prety cool, but the least interesting character in almost everything is in.
