Anime: Shinji of Evengelion, the whiney bastard. You know, I may of been able to get through that terrible anime if it weren't for Shinji. Emphasis on may.

So, square enix, i have to say this: Please please please, STOP MAKING LEAD CHARACTERS I BADLY WANT TO SEE DIE! (Hell, at the end of Final Fantasy 10, in which one of the characters i just mentioned ends up 'dying'. Not only did i not cry, i freaking laughed and said something along the lines of "YES YES YES! He's gone...He's FINALLY gone!")

Silk Specter II (Watchmen) such a useless character. I still can watch the whole movie and it still works without her. Yes, even the Mars scene. I'm sure Dr. Manhattan would of talked to himself anyway.

Nina from Code Geass, the girl is a messed up freak.
Also Daemon Spade from Hitman Reborn, I don't care if the first boss still accepts him after what he did, am siding with the other first guardian's opinions. The guy is a complete dick.

The Chinese gangsters from Gran Torino. The psychotic bastards who's leader beats and rapes his cousin, does drive by shootings against his family members, and guns down an innocent Clint Eastwood in clear view of neighbors.
First character that came to mind was Aerith/Aeris. She's the prime example of a type of character I hate - the ditzy stupid girl who does nothing for herself and yet has guys falling over themselves to help her. There's a whole list of characters that fit into that category but she's the one that deserves to be nailed to a wall the most.

Obsessive-compulsive rug-collector and kleptomaniac April Ryan from Longest Journey. Not for the above, however, since they come with the territory (adventure games). What made me hate her is the fact that she constantly spews unfunny smartass jokes. Even when sheis transported to the magic worldshe acts surprised and concerned for a grand total of one dialog, and then she immediately continuous saying unfunny smartass jokes. Any attempt the game makes at drama falls flat because she can?t act seriously for more than five minutes. I swear she would be saying the same fucking smartass jokes at the funeral of her own child.

OT: You're probably talking about characters you hate that are "supposed to be hated". So I'm going to have to go with the bad guys from Robocop. Kurtwood Smith as Clarence Boddicker takes the cake ofcourse, but each one of his gang members along with Dick Jones are the biggest rat bastards I've ever seen in a movie.
As for characters that I hate which I'm supposed to like: Haruhi from The Melancholy of Haruhi, and Tenchi from Tenchi Muyo. The amount of loathing that I have these characters could power a space shuttle launch.

So while Shinji went too far wimpy for what happened to him, Sora went too far happy for what happened to him.
