I don't think Hollywood is on it's way out, declining yes, they are still making some good movies and right now it just seems like there a ton of horrible movies and sequels that shouldn't be.
I think gaming is getting closer and closer to it's crowning moment, with games like LA Noire it will get there.
Yes and no, yes they should be compared because their modus operandi is to entertain and give people a good time even though they are doing it through different mediums. But I also wanna say no because the video game industry is a little more hesitant to do new IPs than Hollywood, not all of it is good mind you, but Hollywood takes bigger chances, in my opinion.
I don't know I haven't played either yet, I'm broke, but from what I've read and from what videos I've seen of the games, I believe so. I'm going off of second hand knowledge, so I'm guessing here.
Maybe a little bit of both? I won't count sales because to me that's irrelevant, I will say that all games have some sort of strategy involved and makes the player think. Someone here mentioned Portal 2 and Mk, they both use that, with MK you have to know when to use certain moves against certain fighters, know your character's/enemy's strengths and weakness, and know the combos. Portal 2 is more obvious about it, but fighters, I think, are more concealed about this.
I believe so. That way more people will get involved and move the industry forward so companies can try new ideas and whatnot so they can take more risks, and show what the industry is really capable of.
