Charlie Brooker is the english Yahtzee, love the guy's work.

He also made a BBC miniseries called Gameswipe if anyone's interested.

You're embracing a very naive outlook on a lot of gamers and completely ignoring the existence of 'family values' groups in one fell swoop.

It's also fairly hard to complain about something being 'shoehorned in' before you've actually played it. Of course, I'm sure some people felt it was shoehorned in once they had played it, but that doesn't account for, y'know, everyone else blowing their load.

Uhh... I'm pretty sure Yahtzee's the English Yahtzee, what with Yahtzee being English and all.

OT: 'Bravely you masturbate, to make the pictures go away, but to no avail.'

Almost choked on it. (The line, that is.)

it was entrily optional, ok so a charachter might make a pass at you but if you seriously cannot handle a virtual charachter making a pass at another virtual charachter......seriously
In the US there have been several murders where homophobic killers were acquitted or received extremely lenient sentences because their victims were homosexual, and sometimes alledgedly tried to flirt with them.

It's become known as the 'gay panic defense [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gay_panic_defense]'.

You'd think this would instantly make sentences much more severe as it's a confession tp the crime being a hatecrime, but people have been acquitted from murder because of it in the US.
what the flying, pink, fluffy fat fuck?

temporal insanity?
It's a big thing. There's a trans panic defence as well, works much the same.

I seems to recall that working in the UK as well. I don't think it's a a legal thing, though, the prosecutors occasionally "just happen" to go for a lesser charge in such cases.

So I spent the afternoon playing mass effect chatting up this sexy man, I put hours into cultivating a relationship, then out of the blue I had somehow had sex with the man, I was so outraged

An article both defending choice of sexual preference, AND talking about mental space-dicks?
DO WANT!

Hehe...pay that.

I'd hate to be the person writing that, though.

"You can play as a gay character, which annoys bigots." fuck, need to pad that out to a whole page somehow...um...say "penis" alot?
He uses superbly written filler a fair bit. Have a look at this article about David Cameron:

http://www.guardian.co.uk/commentisfree/2011/oct/16/charlie-brooker-cameron-a-lizard

Made me laugh *a lot*
That is funny, good link.

The Telegraph bloke has a point though, the modern left do try to demonise anyone who doesn't agree with their painfully trendy PC views.
Glad to oblige!
Though the way I see it (and Brooker points out) both sides do exactly the same thing - it's so painfully obvious when you see them argue on, say, Question Time about some policy.
Graeme Archer isn't that bad though - I think he must have written that article when he was in a stinking bad mood or something :p

Yahtzee's English too, and he actually cited Charlie Brooker as the "main inspiration" for his reviewing style.
