They make up a good proportion of the population of Hull.

But as far as people go, I actually like chavs a lot more than any other teenage sub-culture. They lack the self-entitlement of rahs and the indy lovers, and have none of the self-deluding pretensions of emos and goths. Chavs actually have a sense of humour. My only beef with chavs is their small-mindedness. They'll jeer at people just for carrying flowers or for smiling too much.

I believe you lovely Americans (apologies, I dated an American once and she was gorgeous) have 'White Trash' which is similar to a female chav, or am I mistaken?

There sure are "chavs" in my little corner of Eastern Europe. We call them "Tzigani" here(NOTE: Not Rroma people, whils the majority are Rroma or of Rroma descent).

They always have popped collars, always wear fake or "junk" jewelry(think bicycle chain bracelette), always attempts to borrow money but never give it back(they usually do this to children or pre-teens), always smoke due to the fact that it's somehow "cool", always brag about their "fighting skills", always brags about family and how they're in "with the mafia", always brags about what they do in clubs, only drinks cheap beer, lightweight drinker, thinks that beating the shit out of women is what makes a man a "man" and very insecure(I suspect this is the reason for the bragging about beating women).

I had the "pleasure" of meeting one of these people myself. I remember how he'd use guild tactics into getting me to give him money. "Come on, I've talked to everyone and no one could. Please borrow me, I'm in debt and bla bla bla". Due to my young nature (13 at the time) I actually gave the money + more so that he could "go to a bar". Oh how my naivity knew no bounds. He'd claim he'd bring it back in a months tops but lo and behold that never happened. His tactic to delay this was that "he'd do his best but he's not sure when he could give it back" and bullshit like that.

Of course the asking of money would never stop. He'd again try and use guild tactics. I remember how one time I got a phone call asking me to give him money so that he could take his girlfriend to a bar. He tried to appeal to "emotion" again: "Come on man, we're friends. Real friends give money. I mean, you've got money, why can't you give some to me? That's what real friends do." and the moment you tried to show any sort of opposition threats with violence would occur "Don't talk to me like that or I'll beat the shit out of you etc". Of course that fucking asshole got no more money out of me. I learned my lesson once and I hope never to forget it.

I've met more than 20 persons fitting the description above. One of them started "befriending" my cousin at school. I had to intervene just to make sure that fucking asshole wouldn't get near him.

So yes, Eastern Europe does have "chavs". It seems that this phenomenon is spreading at an alarming rate.

Alas, I too have been on the recieving end of a chav's agression. You're not alone. And you're right, this phenomenon is advancing at a stupidly fast rate.

Ah yes, the good ole' wigger. They talk big and act stupid, but if you punk them, they'll run like scared little girls. Thankfully they are typically too broke to own guns or there would be some issues, probably ending up with wiggers having broken wrists from trying to fire their gun sideways. Dumbasses.

If you're a British teenager they will make your life hell. Especially someone like me with long hair/doesn't follow the mainstream.

Pretty much everywhere here in Liverpool. Thankfully never been on their receiving end. Actually, a lot of chavvy people wear tracksuits here anyway - but they're not necessarily hardcore chavs. I try not to judge as some can be quite pleasant and funny as long as you're respectful to them, I suppose.

You know, I saw more wiggers (the American equivelant to a chav, I suppose) in the country than in the suburb or the city. So yeah...

Yeah, in the US we call them wiggers, and yes they are quite a pain in the ass, they are about the same as chavs.

Are they similar to what we Americans would call "wiggers" by any chance? If so, they're the bane of society.
