Chavs: How far have they spread?

I've come across a few chavs in my time, mainly because I live in Hertfordshire, which is right next to London.

I proudly mount their skulls on my mantelpiece, and I have a special dsiplay unit full of fake burberry caps and fake-gold chains.

Used to be a problem when I was younger, but crack a few heads and the message eventually gets passed around...

In my experience they're just idiots who shout at you from their most recent conquest (usually a single bench) and occasionally get up to throw eggs at your window.

Acceptable responses to chav insults are:

"Go away or I'll get my butler to crush you with my wallet"
"Cease this mindless effrontery before I buy your family"
"You have no prospect of success at any point in your pitiful life. Leave."

All of these should be succeeded by a small volley of spare change.

How to deal with a chav: when they try to talk to you, smack them. Smack them hard as you can, pimp-slap style. They will cry. Optionally say "Now make me a sandwich, *****."

They have spread pretty much everywhere, I think it is time we re-read our zombie survival guides, and applied the same logic to chavs. After all, they are slow, stupid, and walk in a shambolic manner (something they call a "swagger", I call it walking drunk sober)

If you're a British teenager they will make your life hell. Especially someone like me with long hair/doesn't follow the mainstream.

You do, just a slightly different one.
I try not to generalise, but generally they're alright if you just leave em too it. However the trouble is that at the rate they're expanding the minority who cause trouble is quickly turning into quite a sizeable amount.
The best thing to do is just not to associate with them, I swear you feel yourself becoming more stupid just by being around them

They call em lads down here in Australia. y'know, listening to terrible techno, being dicks and wearing horrible clothes, that sort of thing. They've become the butt of the joke of society.

I like those guys, they say they'll cut me, and get more of there cousins to come fight me. I start giggling and ask why can't they do it now if they're so hard.

Its even better when they say they're have my mum. I call my mum, she's a bouncer. The ignorant fools.

British here, and yeah, Chavs are everywhere I think. They just go by different names in different countries but the sucky attitude is the same. It won't be possible for society to get rid of them until we live in a truly equal-opportunity world, I expect. Problem is it's become a sub culture now and let's face it, the media encourages a lot of ignorant behaviour.

Some of my sister's 'Gothic' friends recently got beaten up by a bunch of Chavs when at the local park. Apparently the Chavs started jeering at them, they retaliated (not recommended), and things got out of hand. One guy got stabbed, another's face was beaten badly enough his eyes were swollen shut and one girl was strangled so much she could barely drink or eat anything without it hurting.

A couple years ago there was a Gothic couple that also got attacked by Chavs. If I'm remembering right the man was beaten to death and his girlfriend was badly wounded whilst trying to defend him and shield him from the beating. There was no reason for the attack, just the fact that they were dressed in black and considered Gothic.

Yeah... What's with the Chav vs Goth gang wars? Is that something other people have noticed too or is it just me?

I described the typical chav to a few people in Australia when I was over there - they apparently call them "douchebags".

Looks like America and Australia have something in common. We both call them like we see them lol

Well, living in a very tourist infested part of Spain. I can say that i have seen my fair share of chavs, some have even nested here. Funnily enough they only mess with other english people and are shit scared of the Spanish, "Spicks" as they call em. Being a bit of a metalhead/geek myself draws atention from them, sometimes you just wish it wasn't so immoral to kill people...

My school (in Scotland) is filled with them, and god how it annoys me. One in particular followed me around all day and threatened to beat me up because I said something about his dad (something I never did).

To clarify, I mean tracksuit-wearing, cheap booze-drinking, fake jewellery-wearing teenagers (or indeed older/younger). I'm British and it's a big problem over here. They are generally the cause for most of the vandalism, illegal drug-taking and all sorts of other nasty stuff in the country.

i kinda think you need to reassess this, its the people maybe 40-50 who are chavs that are the real problem, without them we wouldnt have this younger generation, you need to get rid of the root to get rid of the weed, therfore saying teenager-young is kinda wrong

This is a chav, dickheads who think there hard and think its funny to start on a family man on his own property and shit there pants when they get hit back. This chav picked on the wrong guy apprantly this guy was an EX soldier.

well in my town(in canada) me and my friends call them wiggers(white n*ggers if you must know) because they dress like rapers and do all that stuff you mentioned chavs do

You know, I saw more wiggers (the American equivelant to a chav, I suppose) in the country than in the suburb or the city. So yeah...
