Still? Never heard about kids pretending the Big brick Original Gameboy was a bomb before. Then again, America's become far more paranoid then when I was a kid.

Attaching excessive accessories to it is one thing, but please stop trying to deface its good name by attaching bomb-like materials. That's what the N-Gage is for.
Oh snap. Excellent stinger.

I actually had the HandyPak as a kid. I loved that thing.
Funny thing is Gameboys can't be blown up. People have tried.

I wish people would stop saying the Virtual Boy was an abysmal console. I owned the damn thing, I LOVED playing it. I think far too many people who say negative comments about the VB didn't even own one, especially judging by how many sales there actually were.

But the worst part is, it wasn't even the fucking Virtual Boy's fault. Poor Gunpei (yes, THAT Gunpei, creator of Metroid and the original GameBoy that was foolishly mistaken for a bomb) was forced to release it before it was properly finished because Nintendo was crapping themselves when they realized the N64 was taking longer to finish then they thought and wanted a new system out. It was Nintendo's greed and fear that cause it to be released before it was as good as it could have been.. don't blame the fucking Virtual Boy for it's problems. ;__;

ANYWAYS.. yeah, I can't believe people actually thought it was a bomb. I mean, my cousin could have recognized it for what it was when he was that age, and his first handheld was a GBA! Thank goodness my probably non-functional GameBoy is tucked away in a drawer. I still take it out and remember the good times occasionally.. in fact, I think I may do so again in a few minutes...

He should have used a Game Gear.

I mean the system was a bomb, so...
I loved the Game Gear so hard.

Lion King was much better on it then on the Sega.

Crafty kid. At his age, I wouldn't have bothered to modify the game boy, just said it was a bomb, push buttons while saying "BOOP BOOP BOOP BOOP" then make explosion sound efects.

Doesn't help with large amounts of video game hate by overreactive parents. These things make us seem like psychopaths.

Excuse me while I post this:

What the hell? And you know what's going to happen now, right? The media is going to blame the whole fucking idiotic situation on video games. All because some stupid kid decided it would be funny to pull a bomb hoax on his schoolbus.

Is the kid that did this in special ed or something?

Batteries and wires are grounds for bombs now...sigh.
Batteries, wires, and someone waving them around on a crowded bus while claiming they're bombs, yes.

Wait...so they couldn,t just look at it to make sure it was a bomb?
I'm going to put a brief case on the corner of a street then come over and tell you it's a bomb. Please get really close to it so you can decide whether it's a bomb or not.

Watch the opening to hurt locker If memory serves i don't think they knew if it was a bomb or not.
Oooh mister snippy.

Just sayin I could problably tell the difference between a bomb and a handheld video game
That's the thing, though. Law enforcers HAVE to take this sort of thing seriously. They can't just blow it off and go "It's just a prank", because if they turn out to be wrong, then you have a bus of dead children and it's entirely their fault for not following proper protocol. It blows my mind how people can look at this situation and laugh at them for "over reacting", when that's exactly what they're trained to do. They HAVE to overreact. They HAVE to expect the worst, because it only has to happen once for everything to go sky-high.

I would be more worried if they DIDN'T take their job seriously.

What? Well that's a first for me. I would never of thought that someone would try to make a fake bomb out of a Game Boy.
What a waste too. Those things were the pinnacle of portable video gaming. Sure it's a big bulky brick, but before them, there WAS NO portable video gaming.
No respect I tell ya.
I found my old Game Boy the other day - original flavour, with the see-through case. =) It had pokemon stickers on it and my old Pokemon Red game cartridge inside. The batteries were still good and I started a new game =) I tell you, I nearly cried with nostalgic joy.

As for this kid, I guess he fits squarely into the 'You little sh*t!' demographic that does stupid stuff like this. I hope he got the living daylights scared out of him by the SWAT team and the police.
