hahaha, what a waste of a gameboy. it's kinda pathetic what gets mistaken for a bomb though
Well i guess you could modify an old school game boy to make a bomb... there would be a lot of room for explosives... but the idea that an 11 year old would be able to do that himself??? I mean what? did his dad do it for him? or older brother???

any way you cut it this is still a completely ridiculous scenario.
You can turn a NES into a PC.

You probably can fit a bomb inside a Gameboy.

It's pretty a pretty valid scenario, don't get me wrong, unlikely, but it could easily happen. (especially judging by the fact that it does in other countries)

Man, I should have thought of this when I was a kid. That's a day out of school right there.
I mean you don't get to do anything fun because you are stuck on a bus and everyone thinks you have explosives but it's the principle of the thing that counts.
It's a lot more than just a day once you realize the kid (or actually, probably his parents) are going to court. Hell he might even be expelled! Wow, imagine how little school you'd have then!

Yeah, I imagine he's having conflicted feelings right about now.

You never heard about stuff like this when I was growing up.
I remember hearing about it fairly often as a kid back in the 80's and early 90's.

They had to destroy a perfectly good retro game boy?! ...Unless it was actually broken, in which case, they had to destroy a perfectly retro game boy?!

>Implying a mere bomb could destroy something made of Gameboydium.

I'm just sorry they ran out of that precious element by the time the DS came out.

I would make a comment here but the Pun in the title was so bad that I think I died.

I'm actually surprised he had a gameboy. I wonder if the economic status of the neighborhood had anything to do with that. Do gameboy still circulate around low income neighborhoods or was it just a fluke. Gameboys are an antiquity now, I wonder how he got it.

A sad day for the old school crowd.

I'm sure he-who-must-not-be-named would love to point to this as further proof that video games cause violence. He did just pop back up recently. But enough of that.

I'm surprised the bomb squad was able to destroy it. Those things were solid.
I bet my old brick Gameboy is still around here somewhere. Guarantee you it will still work. And it could still play for a week without replacing its batteries. Maybe longer.

Damn it, bomb squad! I promised a friend I would give her my Game Boy, but I lost it! Now you go ahead and blow up a completely safe one just because there's no way you can tell it isn't an actual explosive device! Next time please send it to The Random One, Esq, Somewhere in Brazil (it will eventually make it to my hands).

That's what the N-Gage [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/N-Gage] is for.

ROFL. I wish I could expand on that, but that would be difficult. N-Gage was certainly a step back for mobile phone entertainment, and a the big lesson that one should not to try to take a piece of Nintendo's portable pie without bringing some big guns to the table.

So kids, please don't screw around with your uncle's old GB. He didn't spend all his birthday money just to see you turn it into bombing propaganda - or something like that.

The bomb squad DESTROYED IT? It was like, a little piece of history.

You know what the big issue is here, though? A GameBoy would be incredibly inefficient as an explosive device. It's sheer plastic strength would've held the boom to itself. I mean, if bombs can't destroy it from the outside, it sure as hell can't from the inside (though it certainly wouldn't work anymore after that).

My first thought was, god damn it only my generation is allowed to play old game boys now.
Second thought, well it is the bomb

Sigh, one less classic game system in the world. If kids keep doing this there won't be any more gameboys in the world.

I was just in a topic about when its ok to hit children....
Also, I dont know if these children are stupid because they are, or stupid because they dont appreciate the past? (Was it to be "funny" or did they not know the begining of one of the best things by Nintendo?)
