Humanity has sank to a new low.

Though I can understand(sort of) why those individuals ignored her, out of fear of being blamed or fear of being setup somehow. Still... that's real cold.

Yes, it's tragic, but this is how people are. It's called something-or-other, and basically the more people there are around the less likely someone in the girl's situation is to get help.
EDIT:

Old news I'm afraid, but tragic none-the-less. Does anyone know what happened to the girl? She was still in Critical condition last time I saw anything about her.

It's human nature, we are all naturally selfish and expect others to do sh%t for us.

Entirely true. Just keep that in mind if ever in the same position. It's easy to panic and think someone else is going to handle it.

*Looks at the thread title*
I've said it once, and I'll say it again:

THIS IS CHINA WE'RE TALKING ABOUT!

The attitude towards human morality there is lower then you can ever imagine. The majority of people there just don't give a damn about others and the small percent that do are to afraid of the government to take any kind of action.
Stuff like this has happens quite often there, and although it is fucking terrible, its just going to continue.

To generate more interest in the thread I recommend you change the subject around, so that the title reads "18 People Crushed, Chinese Girl Doesn't Care".

That makes little sense, since now China looks bad and the government is currently trying to force people to care in such matters. The small percent that do care would be encouraged to - the man who moved the girl is being treated as a hero.

I think this explains what happened Sad but not a new low for humanity.

The only time humanity sinks to a new low is when people stupidly say how terrible humanity has gotten.

Yes, there are shitty things happening all over the world, but there are also tons of amazing stories and stuff going on. 1 bad occurrence does not deserve your faith in humanity being destroyed.

And on top of that, there is a thing called the bystander effect. These aren't TERRIBLE people.

Also, this:

Fun fact, in China, if you help a person in an accident, you become responsible for their well being and medical expenses.

Also, if that person dies, you can be sued.

In Edinburgh, where I live, it wasn't that long ago (last winter) that a homeless guy was found dead in a pile of blankets and sleeping bags. He had frozen to death and had lain where he died for a FUCKING WEEK.

Where in the city did this happen? ON THE BUSIEST STREET IN THE CITY CENTRE. Poor fuck was in the doorway to an empty shop. Homeless people are a pretty common sight around the area so nobody thought anything of it I suppose.

Fun fact: it's almost exactly the same in most of America. You won't be required to pay their medical expenses, but you essentially take on the burden of their wellbeing, and if they are injured or die you may be sued.

It's that way in a lot of places, so, again, stop blaming China.

EDIT: This response was wrong and a knee-jerk reaction to others' blaming China. The poster wasn't blaming China, but merely pointing out a reason why many might not want to help.

Hey man, shit happens. This is hardly a new low, it's just human nature. I guaruntee at least half of the people commenting "Oh, that's so horrible" would do the exact same thing when confronted with a similiar situation. Just look up the bystander affect.
